Chrissy Hopewell is an incredible author, sadley I didnt get to review this book around Christmas so I will be circling back around the holidays to update my social media with a review of this awesome book! Thank you for the opportunity to read this.

Unfortunately this one was a predicable Christmas Rom Com that I didn't end up loving. But I am willing to give the author another try..

This is a lovely, heartfelt, holiday romance that blends the magic of Christmas with complex emotions of love, guilt, and forgiveness.
Britt is caught in a difficult situation. Adrian is her best friend's husband and she has inconveniently developed feelings for him. She is trying to do the right thing but finds herself in a tricky emotional situation. When Adrian’s marriage ends and he starts showing up in her life more frequently, Britt finds it increasingly hard to stay away. Adrian, too, has his own regrets and desires to make things right, but he’s also struggling with the fallout from his divorce and his responsibilities as a single dad.
It’s a difficult path for Britt, especially as she tries to balance her own desires with the guilt over her past actions. Her fear of betraying her best friend and Adrian’s desperation to fix things with everyone around him provide the perfect combination for their slow-burning romance.
The characters are well-developed and flawed which make them realistic and relatable. Their chemistry is undeniable, and watching them work through their past mistakes, both individually and together, creates a satisfying tension throughout the story.
Overall, this is a sweet, emotional read that will satisfy fans of second chances, slow-burn romances, and holiday cheer. While the almost-cheating trope may be uncomfortable for some, it's handled with sensitivity, focusing on the journey of healing and self-discovery. The perfect read if you're looking for a holiday romance with a bit of heartache, redemption, and, of course, a happily-ever-after.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

3.5 stars
One Hundred Lights is a beautifully written story with vivid imagery and heartfelt moments. The emotional depth shines, but the pacing felt uneven, and some plot points lacked resolution. Still, it’s a touching read for fans of emotional, character-driven tales. Part of a series!

This was a cute, quick read with a dash of festive vibes. I haven't read the other books in the series, so I didn't come into it with negative feelings about the leads. The story stood on its own well enough that I could follow it easily. I'm not dying to read the rest of the series, but this was cute enough that I am curious about it.
I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really fun Christmas novella. It's a quick read that I was able to easily fit in to my busy Christmas schedule!

I didn’t realize that this story is part of the author’s Hart Sisters series, which I have not read any of. Normally, this would put me off reading this book because I don’t enjoy feeling like I’m coming into the story where previous events from the other books are alluded to. Though this does happen in this story, I decided to overlook it and I’m glad I did because the story was enjoyable and learning that I might actually hate Britt and Adrian if I read the other stories, I probably won’t read them because I actually liked Britt and Adrian a lot.
I don’t think developing feelings for your best friend’s husband is ever a good idea but the way Britt and Adrian dealt with it was likely the only way, however, their feelings ran so much deeper and even though Britt tried to do the admirable thing and stay away from them, Adrian and his wife got divorced anyway. My only issue with this story was Britt’s desire to get her friendship with Adrian’s ex-wife back. I think Britt is asking for the impossible, especially when Reese finds out that Britt and Adrian do get together.
This book moves pretty fast with each chapter alternating between Britt and Adrian’s perception, which I really enjoy. I thought the characters were easy to relate to and it was easy to see how their friendship could begin to blossom into something more and it was quite sweet to witness.
My Final Verdict: Overall, this story is a good addition to the Christmas reading list. I recommend it to readers who enjoy Christmas themes, forbidden love and second chance tropes.
Thank you to the publisher, Fox Hollow Publishing LLC, who provided an advance reader copy of this book via NetGalley.

This was a quick read! I expected a cute Christmas short story but I felt like the characters were just really cringey.

Not for me! The book was not enjoyable at all. I felt it had spice, just because it is a romance. I am glad it was a novella so I didn’t spend too much time reading it

One school dance. Two single parents who should stay away from each other. A magical holiday hunt for one hundred boxes of fairy lights for their kids’ school dance that makes falling in love inevitable.
*content this book contains an almost-cheating trope (not between the main characters)*
Britt
There are few worse things than developing feelings for your best friend’s husband. I tried to do the right thing and step away from both of them, but they got divorced anyway. That’s definitely one of those worse things. And now Adrian’s at my front door, insisting on helping me decorate for the kids’ holiday dance. And I still want him. I also still want to make up with my best friend, but I’m afraid it’s all unforgivable.
Adrian
I know I should stay away from my ex-wife’s ex-best friend. Britt doesn’t want to see me. She pushed us away six months ago, but things still ended in divorce. Now I’m trying to get it together as a single dad, and I keep running into Britt at school events. I want to smooth things over with her. Britt won’t talk to me, but she needs help with the school dance, so if I just show up at the planning meeting, she won’t be able to say no. What could go wrong with this plan?
Loved it

It was a cute holiday novella! Definitely bought me into christmas spirit. I wish the family dynamics would've been touched a bit more. Britt and Adrian both definitely are made for each other and I could feel it throughout

I really liked how entertaining this book was. Getting feelings for your best friends husband, I was not expecting that. The relationships in this book were really complex and it made for a great book. This book was short and easy to read. I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you to Fox hollow publishing for this eArc!
Unfortunately I don’t think this story is for me. It is at least in part my fault, as I did notice the “almost cheating” trope, I think I just thought it wouldn’t be SUCH a focus. I haven’t read the original series for this, so the recapping of how these two have ended up where they are felt very vague and hard for me to sink into without feeling strange. The holiday vibes are immaculate; though, and the spice is fun! I think I just don’t care much for Adrian as a character.

This was a great Christmas novella! The story was very unique and it had a lot of depth in the story. I would recommend!

This is a heartwarming and festive novella that serves as a prequel to the Hart Sisters series. Set against the backdrop of the holiday season, this short story explores themes of love, redemption, and second chances.
The story centers on Britt, who distanced herself from her best friend Reese and Reese’s husband Adrian after realizing she had developed feelings for him. Fast forward six months after Reese and Adrian’s divorce, Adrian reenters Britt’s life to help her gather 100 boxes of Christmas lights for a middle school dance. What begins as a seemingly simple errand transforms into an emotional journey, as Britt and Adrian finally confront the feelings they've long suppressed.
Despite the story being really short, it delivers surprisingly well-rounded character development. The use of dual POV adds depth to both Britt and Adrian, allowing readers to understand their struggles, emotions, and mutual respect. Hopewell handles the potentially controversial "ex-best friend's ex-husband" trope with sensitivity, ensuring the relationship feels natural and respectful. There’s no betrayal here—just two people who are clearly meant to be together, finding love at the right time in their lives.
The holiday setting adds a cozy charm to the story, and small details, like the amusing names of Britt’s cats, add a touch of humor and personality. Although I enjoyed the fun Christmas light hunt, I felt the story could have leaned even more into the holiday spirit to amplify its Christmassy charm.
One Hundred Lights is a quick, sweet read perfect for fans of heartfelt Christmas romances. It’s a testament to how love can bloom in unexpected places and times, and it’s bound to leave you with a warm, festive glow.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Chrissy Hopewell for sending me a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

One hundred lights is a short and sweet novella set just before Christmas! I found Britt and Adrian to be cute and the chemistry was there even if it’s a short story.

3.5⭐️’s. I received this as an e-ARC via NetGalley. Super cute holiday novella. I enjoyed Britt and Adrian’s story, even with it being a short story. Not sure if I’ll prioritize reading the other novella’s in this series, but I will read them at some point. The title and holiday dance really kept the magic alive.

A simple, cute Christmas romance novella, but not really worth the time. Britt falling for her best friend's husband and then trying to still be friends with her is just too much. While the story of finding the 100 lights was a fun thought, the fact that they are just doing it to try to make up for their divorces just makes the whole thing very uncomfortable.

Book Review: 100 Lights
100 Lights is a delightful holiday novella that wraps readers in the warm, cozy glow of a charming love story. Though it’s a brief read, the story is well-written, with a smooth narrative flow and just enough backstory to pull readers into the characters’ world. The author sets up the romance quickly, yet it feels natural given that the couple has known each other for some time. This history makes their quick connection believable and gives readers a sense of depth in a compact story.
The Christmas atmosphere adds a lovely touch, bringing a cheerful and festive vibe that perfectly complements the romance. The story doesn’t delve deeply into plot twists or complex character development, but it works well within the novella format, especially as part of a series where more details can unfold over time. Overall, 100 Lights is a sweet, cozy read that’s perfect for a quick escape into a festive, romantic world. It’s ideal for anyone who enjoys holiday romances that leave a warm, satisfied feeling.

Cute holiday romance. I found it to be a little predictable, however that’s somewhat expected for a novella where there isn’t going to be much plot. That being said, this was a great book to read in between others as it was nice and light. Also got me in the mood for the holidays. Bonus that there are cats involved.
