A cozy fantasy with christmas ambience AND FAE (winged fae)! These are a few of my favorite things ;D
Winterfrost Market had all the signs that I was going to like it, and I was not disappointed! I had my eye on it for a reason. It's the perfect read to transport you to a holiday fantasy setting, plus it combines some of my favorite aspects in one story, it's a quick and entertaining read. I quickly fell in love with this story and the characters.
I'm glad I came across Winterfrost Market because it's one of those books that transport you to a specific environment, like all Christmas books, but this one is even more special to me because personally I'm not used to reading the typical holiday romance books (I do prefer the movies though). But this one is different! because it's a fantasy, it can also be catalogued as romantasy, it presents us with a quest that the main characters have to perform and both of their paths cross and they have to help each other.
One of the things I loved (and I can't say it enough) is the cozy Christmas vibe, and I appreciate it very much, because the only way for me living in the tropic to live my "Winter Wonderland fantasy" is through books like this one. And I loved it even more because of the fae lore in it (shoutout to the author for adding fae with typical faerie wings) and that one of it's settings is in the winter court, which personally it's one of my favorites. Also Midwinter Haven! which is a safe place where humans, fae, witches and vampires live among each other.
As for the characters, i loved the dynamic between Elsie and Kit, their romance is so cute with the perfect warmth. I loved their personalities and growth! Shoutout to Thomas, for being a perfect sidekick. And of course shoutout to Pepper (Kit's dog), i absolutely LOVE when characters have a pet and the authors know how to fit them perfectly into the story without setting them aside.
I must admit that the only thing that could have been better were the dialogues, specially when Elsie encounters the "modern looking bathroom" for the first time, that part had me cringing a little.
Overall Winterfrost Market is a perfect cozy fantasy read for winter/holiday season, for fae and tea lovers!
Winterfrost Market is an auto conclusive book, if i'm not mistaken it's the beginning of the "Tales of Midwinter Haven" book serie. I'm already wishing to read more of these characters and settings! I will definitely keep an eye out for any future books from Jenny Sandiford.
*A special thanks to the publishers (via Netgalley) for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Winterfrost Market is a sweet cupcake of a book to read. If you're after a cosy and sweet seasonal read then look no further.
Jenny's world building in this story is really well done, and I especially like the way she took time to build the sensory side of things too. Smells and flavours are woven into the story, and I ended up putting the kettle on a couple of times while reading because it kept making me want a cup of tea.
Kit and Elsie's path towards each other was well paced; their bickering and squabbling transitioning to grudging admissions, then admiration, then protectiveness all the way to ... well you know. Knowing the outcome in no way diminishes the journey in this sweet story. I also appreciated the introduction and inter-weaving of the secondary characters. They were in the story to enhance the enjoyment, and stood out as fleshed out characters in their own right.
Without giving away spoilers, I really loved Kit's re-appearance in the town square. Getting the villagers to think beyond their own prejudices really holds true, more so than ever, and it was a delightful moment with a little side reveal of one of their own.
In short, loved it!

I was given an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
If you're looking for something festive and magical this Christmas, you've found it. Winterfrost Market is like Emily Wilde meets Legends and Lattes - a perfect mix of peril, fantasy, and cosiness.
When Elsie's mother goes missing while collecting ingredients for their tea shop, Elsie jumps at the opportunity to go after her, even if it means running off with an aloof and abrasive tracker (and his admittedly adorable dog). This leads her into a world she never dared to explore: a world of magic, mystery, and the fae.
I loved how well the novel combined a Christmassy and comforting feeling with a strong plot and element of mystery. The enemies to lovers storyline was really well done, and both characters made for highly entertaining narrators. I would have loved to see a little more of the worldbuilding, but I appreciate that it's difficult going too far into the background of the fae without losing the softness that makes this story special.
By the end, I wanted nothing more than to be in the story with them, and was immersed in the world Sandiford created. This was definitely the calming winter read I was hoping for!
Books with similar vibes - Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett, Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree, Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne, and Midnight in Everwood by M A Kuzniar.

this was the most perfect cozy wintery read!! it was so atmospheric and i absolutely fell in love with this world! i read this book so quickly and had such a fun time reading it <3
the romance in this book was so so sweet and heartwarming, i love elsie and kit so much!!! their meet cute was the literal cutest ever and so funny, i was smiling ear to ear when they were interacting!!! pepper is also the most sweetest doggo ever and such a loyal sidekick!! i loved how she immediately loved elsie and that led to elsie and kit meeting under some funny assumptions!
“But the one thing that kept popping to the forefront of his mind was Elsie. He couldn’t shake the persistent feeling that he wanted to be near her.”
i absolutely loved how caring and considerate kit was towards elsie! from the very beginning he was unsure of her but still drawn to her and then this man could not take his eyes off her!! it was the cutest and i loved how protective he was at time and sometimes a little jealous and i found that adorable!! some of my favorite moments were when her hands were freezing cold and he warmed them up for with with his hands and when she was freezing he took off his coat for her!!!! ahhhh they are the absolute cutest i love them so much!!!!
“He enjoyed being with her as Kit and liked her treating him like any other person, scolding him for being an idiot, showing him how to make tea properly, playing with Pepper. If he was being honest with himself, he just enjoyed being with her—her spark for life, her generosity, her loyalty.”
“It is very clear you care for her, Kit. I’ve seen the way you look at her, and she you.”
watching them fall in love was such a joy!! i was constant smiling and giggling over how heartwarming they were! i was literally squealing when they first kissed
“You’re so perfect.”
“Isn’t this dress amazing?”
“She is amazing.”
“You are a vision of beauty.”
this book was kind of grumpy x sunshine and i was obsessed with kit obsession over elsie IT WAS SO CUTE!!!
“I love you, Elsie. The only place I want to be in this world is by your side.”
their trust was slow to build, and with everything happening plot-wise, this book had me jumping in my seat from anticipation! everything working out in the end made my heart feel so warm and joyful!
“She was everything he wanted, everything he needed to survive. She was the most thoughtful, generous, and warm-hearted person he had ever met. His blood rushed joy at the very thought of holding her in his arms.”
one thing that tied everything together for me was the bracelet kit gifted elsie towards the beginning, a bracelet to find one’s heart in hopes of elsie finding her mom…
“You said this bracelet was to ‘find one’s heart.’ I believe it brought you to me.”
I would absolutely love to read more books in this world and hope it happens!! a story between marie and thomas would be adorable and i am so curious about kit’s brother and would absolutely love to know more about him!!
this book is a new favorite of mine and gave me such a warm feeling!
“Wherever you are is my home, Kit. And you, Pepper. Let’s make a home in Midwinter Haven.”

This was a cute and wintry read! We follow Elsie on a quest to find her mother with a traveler named Kit who isn't all that he appears. Also, Peppermint this best dog ever. This was a relatively cozy fantasy, and I look forward to seeing what Jenny Sandiford does with this world.

~ winter magic, tea, and a cozy romance ~
Winterfrost Market is the perfect read for the holidays! With a heartwarming happily ever after, this book offers all the cozy, feel-good vibes.
My favorite part was definitely the magical pup, Pepper—what a delightful companion! This sweet pup stole my heart more than the romance itself. While I enjoyed seeing the romance brew, it didn't steep long enough. It went from "Does he like me?" to "I’ll sacrifice everything for her!" much too quickly, which isn't my cup of tea. Overall, the story took a little time to pick up, but by halfway through, I was hooked. If you're craving winter vibes, a light romance, and a dash of enchantment, this book is perfect for you! ❄️⛄

I absolutely loved this cozy, winter book. The story is set in a land with humans, fae, witches, vampires, dwarves, and more magical creatures. Elsie’s mother goes missing and she enlists the help of a tracker to help her find her mother. The story had a great adventure, and I enjoyed the cozy vibes.

Winterfrost Market by Jenny Sandiford is such a cozy treat! It’s a heartwarming mix of adventure, romance, and magic, perfect for curling up with on a chilly day. The story follows Elsie, who runs a traveling tea shop with her family. When her mother disappears in the mysterious—and dangerous—Midwinter Haven, Elsie teams up with Kit, a witty and mysterious tracker, to bring her back.
I loved how immersive the world felt, with its magical creatures and dreamy, tea-filled vibes. The descriptions of tea brewing added such a warm and unique touch. Elsie is a relatable main character—optimistic but grounded—and her banter with Kit kept me smiling. I really enjoyed all of the characters and the worldbuilding!
If you love cozy fantasy with a hint of romance and a dash of magic, Winterfrost Market is absolutely worth picking up.

Thank you to NetGalley, Jenny Sandiford and Velikor Publishing for the E-ARC!
Winterfrost Market is the perfect book to get you into the holiday mood. A story filled with magic, romance, and an adorable dog, there's so much to love about this story.
When Elsie's mother doesn't return from her journey to Midwinter Haven, a city only a days walk away from their home but filled with fae, witches, vampires, and more, Elsie knows she can't sit by and wait for her any longer. Unfortunately, she'll need help to not only get to the city but to ensure her safety when within it's walls, as she's only heard horrible rumours about what happens to humans when they step foot there. Meeting up with a grouchy tracker named Kit, she convinces him to take her with him on his journey to Midwinter Haven, despite the risks. When she finally gets there though, she discovers that the rumours she's heard about the fae, witches, elves and vampires might not be as they first seemed.
This book was such an easy read, the quick pacing and language used making it so I was able to fly through it quickly wanting to know more about the world and the mysteries surrounding Kit. The dual POV perspective between Elsie and Kit really helped the story, showing the reader's the difference in the ways of thinking between the two characters and how they view the world. On one hand we have Elsie who has only heard bad things about Midwinter Haven and it's inhabitants, and on the other we have Kit who has lived there for most of his life.
Since the cover of this book says that this book is part of the Tales of Midwinter Haven, I really hope that Jenny Sandiford has more books planned in this world! I would love to learn more about the different lands, following different characters and their journeys.
If you're looking for a cozy fantasy to get you into the holiday spirit, I would highly recommend you pick this up!

Such a cute book! Thank you NetGalley! I reply loved the world, The characters, and banter the most. The characters are rounded, and easy to relate to.
Such a delightful cosy read. Perfect for the holidays, and cozy weather. Fall in love with this books enemies to lovers couple as they set off on a journey and become unlikely allies. Such a whimsical and adorable world! I kept finding myself lost in it.
Perfect for fans of Spellshop, legends and lattes and a fellowship of bakers and Magic.

This was so cozy, I really don't have any other words to say, cozy and warm.. I'm currently on the process of settle in my house and between organizing things, cleaning and stuff this book was just what I was needing..
The magic in this book was so good that I didn't even need the spice, which doesn't have

A quick and cozy little romantasy. The vibes are wintery, the romance is cute. It’s a little predictable, probably not a new favorite, but I really have no complaints.

Jenny Sandiford's Winterfrost Market is a delightful tale brimming with charm, whimsy, and a touch of mystery. Set against the enchanting backdrop of a bustling winter market, the story brings together quirky characters, heartfelt connections, and unexpected twists. Sandiford’s writing captures the magic and warmth of the season, weaving in just enough intrigue to keep readers hooked. While some plot elements could have been more fleshed out, the cozy atmosphere and captivating storytelling make this a perfect lighthearted read

Winterfrost Market was the perfect grumpy-sunshine on a quest winter read. It had impeccable cozy vibes, and I found myself rushing to finish. I actually read it in under 24 hours. I can't wait to read more in this universe! And who doesn't adore the lovable dog character?!

While the writing is nice, the book is a bit simple. Slowly paced and not very clever. Thought it might have been a YA novel after a few chapters. The world building is good so anyone just wanting to enjoy an escape from the real world will enjoy it.

This book gives me already a lot of Christmas vibes and I love it. It's been nicely written and very fluently. I find it a nice relaxing story inbetween all those other series I've been reading. And I love the romance. It's definitely a 5 star wonder for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, Jenny Sandiford, and Velikor publishing for providing me with this ARC!
I wanted to love this book, but the plot just fell flat for me. The beginning was easy to get into and quite cozy but I found myself just losing interest throughout the story. The characters lacked depth and the dialogue was short and too simple at times. The idea had potential and still had some cute moments, it just wasn’t my cup of tea 🫖.

• super cute & cozy fantasy
• she's a human, he's a fae prince
• dog companion
• festive & wintery atmosphere
• sweet romance, no spice
If you want a quick & easy read, this would be a great pick. It's definitely cozy, though the plot is a bit too simple. I wish the characters had more dimension to them, and the world building could've used more detail in my opinion. Everything at the end was solved too easily, but I kind of think that was the point for this story. Definitely a good pallete cleanser if you're in need of that. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book. It starts with Elise worrying that her mother has not been back from Winterfrost Market which is known to have a bunch of magical creatures. Her town talks negatively about these creatures and makes wild stories. Elise fearing for her mother’s safety from these creatures agrees to allow Kit to take her to Winterfrost Market. As that get closer and closer Elise is starting to realize that Kit may not be human but also that she may have been very wrong about her impressions of these magical beings. It’s a story about not judging a book by its cover, of discovering the beauty of magic, of bravery, and being open to stepping outside your comfort zone. It’s there you will see a whole new world opening up to you with a lot of possibilities at your fingertips. It was nice to see Elise and Kit grow from their adventures. It was the perfect cozy book for the Autumn into Winter Season.
