I really enjoyed this story!

We follow Elsie, who's mother has gone missing and so she embarks on an journey to find her with a mysterious Tracker by her side named Kit whom she is not too sure about.

This is a lovingly crafted story which is absolutely perfect to read during the winter months. The magic, wintery, and awe inspiring atmosphere is really well done. I adored the feelings it invoked and fairytale-esque vibes and felt truly immersed throughout.

The characters are really likable, if a little predictable, though I could argue that is part of the Cozy genre that makes them appealing. Elsie is wonderful. She is highly relatable, smart and wonderful. Her interactions with Kit were full of witty and fun banter and I became very invested in their relationship.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Cozy wholesome romance, accessible yet atmospheric writing and heartwarming moments.

Elsie's world has been open up to magic and danger at the same time.

The plot moves fast enough to be able to devour this book in one sitting and a couple cups of tea!
I thought this was a great cosy read and I look forward to seeing where this story goes and hope we don't have to wait too long to continue the series.

Jenny Sandiford’s Winterfrost Market is a delightful blend of sweet romance, cozy moments, and a dash of adventure, all wrapped up in the enchanting backdrop of a magical winter market. The narrative centres around Elise who enlists the help of a tracker, Kit, and his dog, Pepper, to find her mum who has been missing for three weeks. Elise's mum left Winterfrost market and traveled to Midwinter Haven, a fairytale land in the north in search for a super secret tea ingredient and is yet to return.

Together Elise, Kit and Pepper travel to the magical, picturesque town of Midwinter Haven, rumoured to be inhabited by witches, elves and fae.

Along their journey Elsie's eyes are open to magic that she never thought possible, and that all she knew and heard about Midwinter Haven may not be true. Kit and Elsie's interactions are filled with humour and warmth, and Sandiford masterfully weaves moments of tension and tenderness that kept me reading well into the night. I also appreciated the dual POV, I loved reading from Kits view.

The infusion of tea culture throughout the book is particularly delightful. It certainly had me brewing many cups as I delved into the story.

Overall, Winterfrost Market is a heartwarming read that captures the essence of love and adventure during the winter season. Jenny Sandiford has crafted a tale that will leave readers with a smile, reminding us all of the beauty found in both romance and the simple joys of life. Perfect for those chilly nights by the fire, this book is sure to warm your heart and brighten your spirits.

Winterfrost Market had so much potential. A traveling tea house, a fairytale land, fantasy creatures, a fae prince in hiding, a cute dog named Pepper, and a human girl trying to find her mom with the help of said fae prince.

While it was an extremely cute idea, the execution fell short. The writing was sort of juvenile in places, very tell instead of show, and the dialogue so stilted that I almost stopped reading it a few times. The only thing keeping me going were the other ARC reviews gushing about it. I made it to the end thinking something would change but, alas, it did not.

Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh, with all the positive reviews, and maybe you'll love it, but this one just wasn't for me.

Elsie discovers Midwinter Haven, its people, and its magic while the reader does too: her excitement and amazement were a reflection of myself while exploring this enchanting world. I absolutely loved her as a main character. She’s sweet, smart, and brave without being boastful. Her devotion to her family and her dream of simply settling down and opening her tea shop made her so relatable.

Kit is just as fantastic—a bird-loving fae who wants to break free from his father’s control. His bravery and kindness toward others really stood out. And of course, we can’t forget Pepper, the perfect companion for any pet lover!

The fantasy world was beautifully crafted, and I’d love to read more about it. Discovering Midwinter Haven made me eager to learn more about the world beyond the story.

Overall, if you are looking for a cosy holiday read with a clean romance and some wonderful magic, this novel is for you!

I enjoyed this cozy winter read. There was a good balance of fantasy and romance elements, though the conflict between Kit and his father seemed to be done and over with quickly, and rather conveniently as well. I expected some sort of retaliation, especially after all the build up of how ‘evil’ of a king he is, but there isn’t even a hint of it. It seems that was more of a ‘b plot’ to begin with, but it was still surprising to have it all just end.

I liked the characters and I feel like they had decent development, but I do wish we had some more exploration and growth of the relationship on page between Kit and Elsie. Still a cute romance and a comfy happily ever after - definitely a fun story to cuddle up with on a snowy afternoon!

I have mixed feelings about Winterfrost Market. I requested it immediately because of the cozy vibes it promised and in that sense it delivered! I was excited about a book that happened in winter because it's my favourite season, and the author made good use of the weather to go full cozy mode with warm tea, a magical market in a magical town, a very friendly dog, and an unusual pair of travellers.

The book follows Elsie, a girl who is determined to find out what happened to her mother. She went to the magical town in the north in search of a special ingredient they used in their tea but has not returned yet, and Elsie believes that she might be in danger. She seeks the help of a tracker named Kit and soon realises that the secrets they keep from each other might ruin their calm partnership and hinder their task.
The plot was promising, but I fear the execution lacked a bit sometimes. I liked the dynamic between the two characters, but because the writing was a bit clunky I never connected to them. I believe the author was so determined to let me know how good the characters were, how smart, and how impressive, that there was no space for me to get to know them. The writing relied too much on telling instead of showing, which meant that sometimes the characters were too intuitive and knew (assumed, guessed, imagined) what the other one was feeling or thinking at crucial times. I could not connect to Elsie's frustration with Kit because she somehow always knew what he was hiding from her. The characters were never surprised by the others' confessions because they had already guessed or thought about it. It's difficult to build tension when a character knows everything.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the cosy vibes and I think this book would be perfect for the holiday season, with all those ribbon decorations, warm tea, and freshly made pastries.

With a little bit of editing, the book would be much improved!

A cosy fantasy about Elsie, who runs her family’s cozy travelling tea house. Elsie’s mother is missing, and she decides to search for her and bring her back from Midwinter Haeven with the help of a tracker Kit and his dog Pepper.

I loved Elsie’s character; she was open to new things and always ready to explore something that she had been taught to be afraid of. I really enjoyed following Elsie and Kit on their adventure to Midwinter Haeven and meeting the friends Elsie made while looking for her mom. At first, Elsie and Kit weren’t sure how things would go between them, but as the story unfolded, they grew closer.

I loved the cozy, magical winter setting and atmosphere the author created in the book. It was a perfect blend of magic, adventure, action, and romance; it was fun to read.

My issue with the book was its pacing. The first half was fast, and I read it in one sitting, but the second half was slow. Lots of things happened in the second half.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book; it was cozy and magical.

Winterfrost Market is a cozy romance I would have loved to read over my Christmas break.
The story is captivating and has numerous plot twists. I also loved the characters. Kit is a sweet guy who acts grumpy until he is near Elsie. I loved the gold hearted and stubborn character of Elsie.
Pepper, as the perfect companion for Kit and Elsie, is an extra treat of the story.
Reading this book I had the impression I was watching an Hallmark movie, one with a newer and better script.

This book was absolutely adorable, I loved it so much. It is absolutely perfect for the winter time. I loved the slow burn with Elsie and Kit. I am so glad Kit stood up to his dad and did what was right. I am also super shocked that his brother really did help them all, I was waiting for the trick or something to happen with him. I would honestly love a second book with them trying to take his dad down and seeing what will happen with his brother. Such a light easy and fast read!

This is textbook COZY ROMANCE.

Elsie must rely on a stranger to help find her mother. It just so happens this cute stranger happens to be far royalty.
Elsie and Kit have amazing banter. This story is heartwarming and sweet, if not a little wooden at times in terms of their normal dialogue. Overall this is a nice book to curl up with if you want something light and easy.

Elsie's only chance of finding her mother might rely on a stranger. Despite her sister's disapproval, she decides to trust him and embark on a journey to Midwinter Haven. Leaving means facing the danger of magic and unknown creatures. Kit is true to his word, yet they both have their secrets. He's royalty fae and didn't expect to meet a cute human girl who fiercely loves her family and tea.

Every step of the way, I felt the magical atmosphere enveloping me like a blanket. There were a few moments when words like 'detective' ruined the mystical vibe, yet overall the story was cohesive.

This was a really funny and magical book, I really like how the author portrayed all the magical towns and how magic can be not only fascinating but also intimidating. There were somethings (like the backstory of the father or the special tea) that I think didn’t really have any sense or how they were developed really poorly and I don’t were that important even though it was the whole cause of the plot. But all in all, I had a lot of fun, the characters were interesting and Elsie and Kit were just 😍😍.

This was a strong start to the Tales of Midwinter Haven series, it had that fantasy romance element that I was looking for and was enjoying the journey through this world. The characters were written in a way that worked and enjoyed how good Jenny Sandiford wrote them. I’m excited to read more in this series and from Jenny Sandiford.

This is an easy breezy cozy winter magic romance.

The writing was fine, but the dialogue is a little wooden with the MC just speaking one sentence back and forth at each other. The FMC was fairly nondescript, I can't really recall much detail about her except that she loves her family. The MMC has a lot more detail told you at you, but there's not much to write home about him for him either. The side characters were more interesting, and the MMC's brother is presumably the mc of the next in the series.

I liked the winter snowy magical setting but how the world building was pretty thin. I don't think this is meant to be a heavy fantasy book, however, so I don't mind too much. I don't think I will remember much about this, but there're just sooo many fae fantasy books like this now. I don't imagine I'll read the next in the series but this was a good break amongst some heavier books I was reading.

Cosy and delightful! This was an utterly charming book with the perfect wintery setting!

I adored the setting of this novel. It was so beautifully vivid. I could so clearly picture the small town, the haven, the wintery woods. I felt like I could smell the tea and the sausage stand! This book delivers atmosphere in spades and the setting is so charming. If you’re looking for a cosy read that gives you all the winter vibes, this is a great one!

Characters are likeable, although none could compare to Pepper the dog! Our female main character is trying to find her mother who has disappeared which is how she ends up in the company of our male main character and embarks on an adventure. We have magic, fae and herblore in this, along with an abundance of tea!

I had a lovely time reading this book and I thought the writing was really good. My only quibble with it was that the romance felt too rushed. It felt like an extra day or two travelling through the forest and giving the characters the space and time to get to know each other better would have made all the difference. I was vested in the success of the characters and liked them both individually, but I found myself somewhat disengaged from the romance. It just went a bit too quickly from ‘wow what a rude woman’ to true love.

What a wonderful, magical wintery setting this was! An ideal read as we enter into the colder months.

I adored each of the main characters in this book as well as the side characters. Elsie, the FMC, was so well developed and loveable that I wanted to invite her over for tea and a chat about her adventures. I really enjoyed the fact that once in Midwinter Haven she wasn’t scared or stand-off-ish of the differed magical beings. She has such an excited curiosity and want to learn and understand them. She fully immersed herself into the town and that was something I really loved. I also enjoyed the world building that happened not only at the beginning of the book but throughout the entirety. There are so many magical elements in this book, laying marvelous groundwork for several other books. Author, Jenny Sandiford, truly is a talented magical writer. You can see and feel all of the love and time she put into this book. I will read this book over and over again each winter for many years to come, as well as any other books she decided to write in the future.

Winterfrost Market is so captivating you will want to sit down and read it all in one shot. So, grab your favorite blanket, a pot of tea or in my case a hot cup of Glühwein, and settle in this winter for a magically enchanting read.

This book was the perfect combination of romance, mystery, fantasy and adventure and I am desperately hoping for another book (or books) to follow this magical read.

In order to find her mother, Elsie might have to risk not only her health, but also her heart.

First of all; Winterfrost Market by Jenny Sandiford is SO COZY. As a Yule-lover, I was immediately drawn into the cozy story. I could smell the cinnamon, feel the Winter chill, and hear the roaring fireplaces. I can't stand the heat, brightness, and migraine-inducing sound levels of Summer, so I have been longing for a book that celebrates the joy and beauty of Winter instead of treating it like Summer's annoyingly depressing sibling - and here it is! The snow sparkles, the lights twinkle, and the tea never stops flowing.

...and then, there's the romance.

Listen, if you enjoy characters who make all the wrong choices because of someone they met *literally* days ago, then sure. I guess it's cute to risk everything because a guy (or gal) is hot? Why waste time trying to solve a crisis, when you can make goo-goo eyes instead?

I knew what I was getting myself into when I started the book, but because it's so centered on Midwinter, I still took the risk. And I'm glad I did! Romance will never be my thing, but at least the steamiest part of Winterfrost Market is the tea - so the ace part of my brain was perfectly fine during the entire reading of this book. If you're into the whole romance-thing, you're probably going to love it.

This book, where cities are named after the holiday season and every corner is decorated with bows of holly (falala lala), is PERFECT for when you want to cuddle down under a blanket with a hot cup of tea. Sandiford perfectly captures why Winter is my favourite season, and despite the romance, I can't wait to return to Midwinter Haven when the next book arrives.
