This sci-fi story was an interesting and tense read. I enjoyed going through the pages, and it didn’t disappoint in the end. The book presents vampirism in a different way and it's integrating it into today’s modern world. Anna, as a representative of her branch, is kidnapped. Evan, upon realizing who he must interrogate, decides to go rough. A cat-and-mouse game ensues in the NYC underground. It’s an exciting, engaging read with a touch of romance.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley.

This is a standalone read. Part three of the Sinner's series features Lady Anna and Evan Gunn, Baz's friend. A fanatic Homeland Security agent is intent on exposing Anna's secret to the world. He does not care who does in the process. Gunn is not going to allow that to happen.
A slow building romance, interspersed with action, heart racing, and funny moments. Brian's correction of Lady Anna's turn of phrase is hilarious.
Some portions will seem repetitive and upset some readers. I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next segment in the series.
This was a very interesting and entertaining story. Anna was avampire that had been captured and shot in the back of the head (which healed). They had also captured an FBI agent that was with her that worked with her nephew. They were both going to be tortured if they didn't find a way out. An Army Intelligence office (Evan) was sent in to help with the interragation. What the idiots that kidnapped her didn't know was that Anna had know Evan's grandfather and on his death bed, he told Evan about her so he could help her if she needed it.
The story had lots of adventure, blood, intrigue, hilarious Chinese ladies, some insane Italian vampires and a little romance. It got more interesting the more I read. I highly recommend
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
This was a very unique story in my opinion. The author built her own vampire origin story taking advantage of something very timely, a fast spreading disease. In the aftermath of COVID's lockdown, it is all too easy to picture a disease spreading rapidly and all too easy to fear it could be deadly. The fact the it wasn't only deadly, but it had the ability to create something else from the survivors really doubles down on the uniqueness of the story. Anna hardly fits the profile of a vampire, at first glance. She simply appears to be a successful and intelligent business woman and diplomat. Her vampire side build on her strengths and makes her very protective especially of family. Her shooting at the beginning of the story got the excitement started off fairly quickly and again gave us a unique twist on vampire. Brian, the naive FBI agent who was simply in the wrong place was pulled along into the story to provide a lighter touch, someone naive and youthful. Evander knows more about Anna have watched her from afar and having heard stories about her, the 800 year old vampire his ancestor knew and knew as a vampire.
The world building characters were the best part of the book full of action and love and corruption. It is funny when you read a story like this you cheer for the vampire to escape through any means necessary. If such a person really existed, we would all be lining up with our pitchforks. That is what made this book a create book to read if you were looking to escape into a story.
The ending conclave makes me wonder what is more to this vampire tale and where the author will take us next.

I loved this book, despite having read none of the previous books. This book is like a breath of fresh air in a genre I have read in heavily. The story was a new and fun take and I loved every minute of it. There is a bit of insta-love that required a bit of suspension of disbelief, but honestly it's barely a problem. I have such a soft spot for books where the woman in the badass, and love interest is all about letting them take the reigns of the plot, and this book is no exception. The world building and characters are both the right level of complex - it's not a one note story, but remains a quick and compelling read that I finished in one sitting.
I cannot wait to read the other books, and read more in the future.
You know a book is great when you start reading it realise it is the third book in a series and you put it down to get and read the first two books and that is exactly what happened when I started to read this book.
Anna is a diplomat but a rogue homeland security officer is convinced she is more and has kidnapped her and Brian her nephew's assistant a FBI agent that everyone knows was planted top try to get information about there illegal activities The only problem is Brian is human while Anna is a 800 hundred year old vampire When Evander Gunn a interrogator with army intelligence is brought in to break Anna things become far more complicated After all he knows secret as his grandfather had worked with her in WWII as part of the ghost army Can they defeat this rogue agent and what happens when you develop feelings for a 800 year old woman. Meanwhile once again Brian is the comic relief is he as naïve as he appears or is he in fact much smarter than anyone realises
An entertaining read. I found Anna and Evan to be likable and their romance to be fire!! The Chinese were a fun addition. Would have liked to see what happened with Ledger after all the trouble he caused, but perhaps we will find out in other books.
I really enjoyed this story and I thought that it was a really good read overall.
The book had a well developed storyline that was strong and I really enjoyed how the book was written, I did find the story a little slow to start but them it was like a boom and the pace picked up and it was so good to the end.
I liked the character development and getting to know more about them as the book progressed.
Fast action, good detail in the end, it was romantic and sexy
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!
Dang dang dang, this was such a good read! Had everything I love, action suspense a military hero and vampires to. When a ruthless homeland security officer comes after Anna and FBI argent Brian to prove she’s a vampire, who can save them?
Anna’s story is perfection, just like the series!
The woman we all loved to fear in the first two books turns out to be a strong female leader who wants some of the same things everyone else may want: safety and love. Gunn is tailor made for her. His unfailing support based on stories his grandfather told him made him endearing from the beginning.
Five stars for the book and five stars for the series. Julie Rowe is the queen!
I really enjoyed this book. Ms Rowe never disappoints when it comes to her action packed stories. This one had a quirky humor that took the tension out of some tough situations which I really enjoyed too. Kudos. Another fantastic book.
Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this book as an arc
To be completely honest I lost a bit of interest halfway through this book. It might be because I was expecting a completely different type of story line or because the book is fairly short so I didn't really feel connected to the characters and didn't care for what was happening to them. However this being this short might also be a plus because it read fairly quick and it's fine if what you're looking for is exactly that
I love this book! This is now one of my favorite romance novels. It was just that good. I was caught from the first line and couldn't put it down.
I love the strong characters and the unconventional vampire storyline. If you hunker after danger, mystery, and characters that will not back down, plus a steamy romantic vibe, this is the book for you.
A well-connected, power-hungry man has kidnapped a vampire (Anna) and the FBI agent who is with her. He is prepared to do whatever is necessary to learn her secrets and gain more power. Little does he know what is in store for him. Anna is not so easily contained.
Gunn, the intelligence officer they brought in to interrogate her, recognized her immediately. He had heard about the extraordinary woman all his life, and he knew he must get her out of there.
Julie Rowe takes us on a journey of danger, and attraction that defies the ages and loyalty to die for.
Anna Breznik is an eight year old vampire but don’t consider themselves vampires. They have an autoimmune disease that makes them heal faster, they don’t age, don’t eat but must drink blood from a live source. Anna and her nephew’s assistant are kidnapped by a crazy Homeland Security agent. He knows about her and wants to use her. The agent wants an interrogator and gets Evander Gunn. Evan is Army Intelligence and when he sees Anna, he knows who she is. Evan helps Anna and Brian escape but the Homeland agent isn’t going to let them go so easily.
I loved this book. A little funny. Vampires. Action. A vampire and a human are wildly attracted to each other but first they must stay alive. A little sexy.
