Wow. These books keep getting better. Lydia has now got most of her powers and her and Aon have what can at best be described as an unhealthy obsession with each other. The other kings and queens on under start to wake up and start sniffing around the new queen.

There is some very intense spice in the book which does add to it and helps explain the relationship. We see Edu develop more as character and we meet the other kings and queens.

The end of the book just leaves you hanging on more more and I immediately dived in the following book. Without giving spoilers you discover that not all is what it seems and you get more insight into the ancients and those who you thought are the bad guys may actually surprise you.

Great book and looking forward to the next one.

I was lucky enough to read books 4-6 back to back through Netgalley, and I am so thankful for that. This series keeps readers wanting more. The writing is engaging and the worldbuilding is great.

I wanted to dip my toe into romantasy and decided to start here. I was not disappointed. Kingsley created a vivid world with amazing characters. The storyline was interesting and entertaining. I loved this so much I decided to go and buy books 1-3 and book 5 so I could read the ARC for book 6. Now I'm hooked not only on Kingsley but romantsy! Thank you for sharing the ARC!

This is a common review for King of Blood and King of None ((The Masks of Under Book 4&5)
What I'm appreciating is the good balance between the fantasy and romance elements. There's a romance but it's set in a very interesting and well developed world.
It may be a bit of a problem the definition "The Ancient"as it made me think about Lovecraft and we're not talking about Cthulhu here (who's not even an Ancient)
There's a lot of evolution it felt like the two books should be read one after the other as King of Blood seems to be the long introduction to what will happen in King of None.
Lydia is evolved and became a powerful magical being, The Queen of Dreams, and she's still involved in a love/hate relationship with Aon, who underwent a big change as it was revealed who he was.
There a lot more world building in these two novels, there's action, and there's a attraction/passion.
The balance between the different genre is well done and I appreciated how the author never pushed too much the passion pedal and made the main characters a sort of horny hormonal magical being (which can be very funny but also kills the atmosphere).
I look forward to read the next and finale novel.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Oh, I loved reading these books! I've really enjoyed getting to know these characters and this world! It's dark, twisted, depraved, and oh, so complicated with morals, and figuring out the best path forward-especially when up against such a powerful, almost all-knowing threat like the Ancients?

Lydia has been through a lot since she's been brought to Under, a lot she's had to adjust to, and almost all of it bad. That another attempt is made on her life, and that it falls into place with the prophecy? Yeah, I was thinking that Aon went the wrong way with his interpretation, but yeah, that was wildly off!

I wasn't sure how they were going to resolve this fight with the Ancients, there's such a big threat. And there's Aon, craz and broken, without the bits of the Ancients to piece him together. On the other is the King of All, sane but maybe that's not a good thing. It was just a complex situation, and I didn't envy Lydia for having to navigate it.

One thing that I'm wondering, is if the other series set in this world, the Fall of Under, if it's going to be revised as well? I don't know if it's set before or after this series, but it was published after this one, so maybe the story is where Kathryn Ann Kingsley wants it to be. I don't know, but I can find that information out!

Loved reading these books, and I can't wait to read more by Kathryn Ann Kingsley!

This is one of my favorite series and I have patiently been waiting for the last 3 books to be released.

I love Lydia and Aon and everyone else in this story. Kingsley is a great writer with a knack for making you laugh and cry at the same time. I ate this book up in one day and still can’t get enough.

The relationships, the plot twists and all of it was well done and this series deserves much more hype.

This was a strong fourth entry in the Masks of Under series, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall story being told. Kathryn Ann Kingsley was able to create that world that I was hoping for and enjoyed from the previous three books. The characters had that element that I was expecting and glad everything worked overall. I can't wait to read the next entry in this series.

Thank you Second Sky/NetGalley for this ARC!!!

Ugh, I love this series - it’s so much fun! King of Blood was excellent - the last ~20% had my jaw on the floor!

Can’t wait to read the next book (which I’ll be doing effective immediately)!

I am so beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to read this book early. I originally received an arc of book one, and I devoured it. Loved it. Great time. Then I waited for books two and three. Devoured. Loved. And waited again. Finally, I have been able to read book 4 (and very shortly books 5&6)

I really like this series. I read a lot of books. Because I read so many books, even when I enjoy a book, I often don’t think about it after I finish it. Something about Kathryn Ann Kingsley’s writing makes me think about her worlds and wonder. I felt it in the Maze of Shadow series, and I really feel it in this series.

This is book 4, so I am not going to give a recap, but suffice to say it is a wonderful addition to this already great series. I just can’t stop myself from turning the page. I really really really hope that this series gets special editions to match the Fae Crate Deal of Shadows and Maze of Shadows editions.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are entirely my own. 4.25/5 stars
