This book is a fascinating look into how democracy exists in a modern world. I found that MacGregor argues convincingly and his book was incredibly well-researched.

In light of current political affairs and how the last decade has shaped the current socio-political sphere, I found it so interesting how he examined how vastly different democracy looks now. His acknowledgement of how modern life and all its trappings mean that there are gaps and misjudgements in the constitutions made for people that did not and could not anticipate the societies we live in today.

I would really recommend this book to anyone looking to further their understanding of how democratic political systems are working in the modern context.
