This was a strong start to the Savage Wolves Brotherhood series, it was everything that I wanted from this type of book. The characters were everything that I was looking for and enjoyed the way it worked with the fantasy element. I thought the idea of using occult science was a unique take and enjoyed what I read.

I received a free ARC for this review.
Really enjoyed this! I was a huge fan of “Sons of Anarchy”, and the similarities are definitely plentiful, but not in a rip-off kind of way. Let me also say, I’m a 40 year old, straight dude that loves these fantasy books. I don’t care for the spice, but a lot of these books have really entertaining plots…this is one of those books!
Dakota Montgomery is an alchemist in training, who also has ties to a motorcycle club, and their second-in-command, Callum Reynolds. They share a heavy past, and the events towards the beginning of the book bring them crashing back together.
I’ve never been a huge fan of magic/fantasy stuff in a modern setting, but it works so well here. The distills that are made are used for various things…blood replenishment, pain relief, and euphoria. Brewing these on your own is highly illegal, so of course our main character just has to dabble in that!
This book does end on a major cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read more about these characters and their world!

You know when you see a book, read the synopsis and you think, yeah this sounds good but I doubt it will change my life...𝗪𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚. Sometimes you don't think 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 can bring you out of a reading slump, and then something entirely out of left field catches your eye that completely changes the game, and that you desperately needed.
This book is described as Sons of Anarchy meets Fantasy Romance, and it absolutely 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴. This book gave a well thought out story where every single word is purposeful, with deep and complex characters that you only want to keep learning about, and a fresh new take on magic that is so interesting that you feel you could read a whole book just on it. Oh, and hot badass motorcycle dudes with guns.
Dakota and Callum. We found ourselves yelling "just freaking KISS already!" any time these two were in each other's presence. Their chemistry was radically hot. Like 𝙃𝘼𝙒𝙏. After 12 years apart, tensions have built and walls have to come down, but boy when they do 🥵
Sadie babe, we've already bugged you enough but THANK YOU for writing this and we're sorry but, we are yours now, you can't get rid of us...especially after that 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 🫶😇
Thank you NetGalley for the early ARC of this!

This was such a good beginning to the Savage Wolves series.
There were so many twists throughout the story, there’s a lot to learn on the way about Vitals, Veils and Voids, the marks they show and the powers they have.
Dakota is a fantastic FMC, she’s been through A LOT in the twelve years since she last saw Callum, and during the progress of the book. Callum and Dakota feel like fated mates - although this isn’t referenced in the story - they’re drawn to each other and when they come together sparks fly.
There are so many tropes within this story:
Enemies to lovers (kinda)
Second chance
Found family
Touch her and d*e
Love after loss
I really enjoyed the MC fantasy vibe, it’s an unusual mix in the fantasy world but it’s done so well.
The ending though… I need book 2 NOW
