Well, there are books with more flaps to lift, and more charm, but this offers a good balance of several other things. This is a rhymed story of some rabbits on a hunt for a hug, and even if they spot two mice cuddling together on the first spread they still carry on, seeing what they can see, as well as having a mini-adventure at the seaside. There's even a narrative when their return to the farm coincides with a fox sniffing around the hen-house. The actual flaps are only on every second spread, as there's a plot to convey too, and it can be repetitive how and what they reveal, but when they turn up they can prove vital to things – at multiple beats if you don't find and lift them the verse is incomplete. So charm and sentiment, interactivity etc are probably at the four star stage, but this does have a fair bit of engaging content to get us returning, as it's not a simple exercise in paper-engineering for the printers. There's more than enough going on to make this a strong four stars in total.

What a beautifully illustrated book!
My son and I have enjoyed other books in this series, but I think I was drawn to the illustrations in this one even more.
The story follows the familiar format which my son enjoys, especially with the addition of flaps to find and look under.
Definitely one for any young child’s collection.

This was such a lovely story. I read it to my son who thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved that it was about the perfect hug, and loved following the bunnies in their search for the perfect hug.
The story rhymed, which made it easy to read. It is beautifully illustrated too. I received an egalley to read and review, the story has flaps to lift and reveal which was harder to read as an ebook, but we really enjoyed reading regardless.

We've read previous books in this series which we loved, and cannot wait to purchase a physical copy of this to add to our collection.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Bloomsbury Publishing for an advance egalley of this book. Opinions expressed here are my own.

The illustrations were lovely and it is very interactive and keeps the attention of the younger audience.
Cute little storyline all based on hugs and that everyone seems to need one.

A lovely book for younger ones. The flap design add to the narrative, and the artwork is awesome as usual.
The theme of the perfect hug and the adventurous nature of the story are very cool.

I thought that this book was lovely – it was lots of fun and some wonderful illustrations that will be really attractive to children to make it a firm favourite for them!

The book was very easy to read and follow - my daughter read the book to me with no issues, she enjoyed the interaction and the repetitive nature meant she knew what was coming and she really got in to the story telling side which was lovely as a mum to see

I love the way that the stories are told in this series and again the illustrations in this one are outstanding, they bring the work to life and they are just beautiful

It is another lovely addition to this series and it is 5 stars from me!

Thank you so much to Bloomsbury Children’s Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

The bunnies are looking for the perfect hug, they will search high and low until they find it, seeing so many different animals giving each other a perfect hug. But they still haven’t found theirs yet.

Utterly adorable, I loved every piece of this book from the gorgeous way it was written, to the repetitiveness of the story, to the illustrations on each page and to the cute hidden flip flap parts. This is such a perfect read for young children and I loved it.

I really enjoyed this series of books so much, they are always so incredibly beautifully illustrated and you can spend so long getting swept up just looking at all the details on the pages. The flip flaps are always cute as you never know who is going to be hiding behind them. Such wonderful books to explore and look at for a while.

The story flows so naturally, the tone is always so relaxing and beautiful. The bunnies are always so sweet and kind. I really enjoyed the repetitiveness, reading with a young child they will be aware of what is coming, it’s great to help them learn to read themselves.

A really beautiful perfect read, in a wonderful easy fun series for your young ones. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for more books to enjoy with your children, they will instantly love this one and the others within the series. They are so much fun to read.
