Interesting Thriller promoting Pan-Africa. I wasn’t excited to read this book, at first. I was unsure of where the author was going. However, Appleton’s storyline is a good one. When I put it up against other thrillers/action stories that I love to read, I admit this tale is the genre I read.
Appleton’s book storyline follows a world-wide secret society whose goal is to return Africa back to black rule. They are looking for the right leader to change the future of Africa. The unlikely heroes come with messed-up lives and early childhood abuses but rise to the challenge. Appleton doesn’t pull away from showing the troubles Africa is dealing with currently. His desire for real lasting change and a better life is something all of us should hope happens in our lifetime. “A people who ruled, must never be ruled!” is the rally cry of the book. Most action/thriller authors tend to have a deranged guy wanting to corrupt the world, make it one race or blow everything up. Appleton’s heroes and purpose may be different than those authors, but it comes across as a very readable and plausible story. I would read more of Mr. Appleton’s books.
