This was a cute diary entry in the form of poetry. It depicted the teenage life. It's a must read for you to feel nostalgic remembering about your past.
When I saw this one on Net Galley, I got very excited as it was the kind of book I would write. Experiences in stories and poetry. It was relatable in that sense for me. I am a writer and a poet, and I really enjoy other’s poetry and stories that have deep meanings. Thoughts this was short, it was beautifully written. Thank you for allowing me to read this arc. I really appreciate it and will be buying the book when it is out too. I already want to reread it.
Thank you to the publisher, NetGalleyx & Emma Grey Rose for the ARC of All The Beautiful Things.
This collection of poems, & writings engrain your mind with snapshots, and fragments of memories that are so soothing and dreamlike.
This book was beautifully written & I am going to purchase a hard copy for my book collection.
** Thank you NegGalley and Midsummer Dream House for having given me the opportunity to read this book**
“All the Beautiful Things”, but some of them are pretty tragic.
What I appreciated most of this poem collection was the writing style: hypnotic, trendy, fierce, experimental. I love authors who dare with their writing style. Although it’s not completely original, I found very appealing how she built the verses and how she decided to describe her feelings, relationships and events.
My favourite section was the first, “Amanda”, which reminded me a lot of the friendship between Leah and Natalie/Keisha from Zadie Smith’s “NW”. Overall, this books reminded me Zadie Smith (which is a compliment).
“All the Beautiful Things” is about feelings, relationships, love, friendship, trauma and growth. It’s a bout the tragedy of our lives, women’s lives.
Emma’s poetry style is 𝐬𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞—it’s a blend of free verse and whimsical, artsy vibes that give off that “written at 2 a.m. with a pen and a lot of feels” energy. Some pieces feel like soft reminders, and others hit like a sudden flashback you didn’t see coming. The writing is raw and relatable, like she's just 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝. ☕️💭
This collection of poems and writings totally hits you right in the feels with little snapshots of relationships that take you into her actual memories. You know those scenes that stay in your mind forever, like a soft, blurry photo you can’t quite forget? That’s what these poems feel like! 🌸
It’s one of those books you’ll want to come back to whenever you’re in your feelings. 🖤✨
Thank you NetGalley & the author for my arc copy & for sharing your journey with us readers!
A short yet distinctive collection that sits with you after, what a magnificent look into someone else's fragmented memories of childhood and relationships gone past.
Short but gorgeous, relatable without having to say much. Love love loved this and would read way more from Emma Grey Rose. Only complaint is that it wasn't longer.
{Thank you bunches to NetGalley, Emma Grey Rose and Midsummer Dream House for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!}
