A gorgeous, colourful and diverse picture book which teaches readers about the Indian festival, Holi, by using simple but informative rhyme. Each spread is bursting with colours and joy and readers will feel immersed in the celebrations. A great story in its own right, it is also an excellent resource to use in the primary classroom and to support religious education. Just beautiful!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is a great educational fiction book to teach children about Holi. The illustrations were bright and pretty and despite being an adult I learnt a few things too. I also appreciated the mini glossary with Thandai and Gujiyas included as they are foods and drinks that we can try at home with the insight.

I read Happy Holi! with my daughter last night at bedtime and we absolutely loved it!

The illustrations are lovely and add so much to the book, they really bringing it to life and she loved learning more about this festival and was excited to be able to share what she learnt at school the next day.

The book is well written and it has such a great flow - I was easy to follow and she loved reading the story to me as she could then log it in her reading journal for school. It should be a must for each primary school library.

It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!

Happy Holi!, written by Chitra Soundar and illustrated by Amberin Huq, is a brilliant introduction to Holi. With striking, vibrant illustrations and fun-to-read rhyming content, this book is a must have for all homes and classrooms. A fantastic book for lovers of Ladybird Books’ First Festivals and Campbell Books’ Busy series.
