Thank you NetGalley and Bookoture Audio for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review

The second book I’ve listened to from this series and I just love it, I wondered how a Tori novel would go without it being about her sister and it was still amazing. I feel like I missed out on a lot with missing book 2 - 6 but I’ll definitely pick up the whole series and read it book 1 - 7 as soon as I can. I love the characters, the mystery and bad people POVS were so good and I was intrigued the whole time ! The action when Tori was working it out. It’s just all amazing and I really recommend it !

I'll be publishing my review on Goodreads and StoryGraph 13th December and on Tik tok most likely will add to a monthly wrap up post with review the beginning of January

High quality fast paced audio. My Swindon audio outing with this series. It felt a long listen in places but due to the complexity of the crime and the mystery it needed to be. Perfect as a standalone listen as well. Loved rhe working it out and I did actually care what happened to teddy. I foubd the narrator good and engaging. The plot was overcomplicated in places but I think that was ti build tension. It wasn't just about solving a kidnapping it was who and why.
I found myself pleased I had listened till the end although I hope this is not the end of the saga.

Thank you netgallery and publisher and author and narrator fir this highly recommended 5 star listen

This was my first Agent Tori Hunter book and I was t disappointed. While I feel as though it could be a stand alone book, there were a lot of details and back stories that could have benefited from a deeper understanding (aka me reading the previous 6 books). I enjoyed the story line and the plot twists along the way.

At times, I felt that there was a lot of information and names thrown out. This lead to either confusion about who was being talked about or me needing to listen a few more times to figure it out.

While I do really enjoy audiobooks, the narrator on this one fell a little flat. It was hard to distinguish characters, which was critical for this book.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was my second Tori Hunter book and I'm keen to jump into the third.

This book is a female-led mystery that follows Tori Hunter as she works to get to the bottom of her latest murder slash child abduction.

There are heaps of red herrings throughout, I was wrong more than once about the person pulling the strings.

My only critique is that I felt the cheese was laid on too thick for me with the romance between Tori and Braddock.

I would recommend this book to fans of female mystery books who love a quick and easy read.

4.0 ⭐️

"Taken in the Cold" by Roger Stelljes is book 7 in the Agent Tori Hunter series. It is a mystery and crime drama with quite a bit of action. If crime drama is your jam, check out this one.

This book is good, but rather too long. The audibook ran 13.5 hours. Kate Handford did a great job with the narration.

The story begins with a home invasion attack on a family, 2 murders, and the kidnapping of the family's 10 year old son. This is only the beginning. Tori Hunter and Will Braddock are on the case!

The story begins with two dead bodies and a missing ten year old boy named Teddy. Teddy was routinely getting ready for school when he hears a gunshot. When the police arrive they find Teddy’s mom and her new boyfriend dead and Teddy’s backpack is open with the contents strewn about the hall. In the attempt to reach Teddy’s father, Tori discovers he is missing as well.
The police are quick to assume this is a classic case of jealousy where ex husband kills wife and boyfriend, then kidnaps son. Tori’s gut tells her that this is not the case. Why would he kidnap his own son? Things don’t add up.
Can this race against the clock be accomplished in time to save the life of young Teddy?

I enjoyed hearing the perspective of the kidnappers that had Teddy as well as the point of view of law enforcement. I was running in detective mode trying to figure out the outcome but was still surprised.
As Tori and Detective Braddock dig deeper and follow leads, they learn that there is much more behind the killings and kidnapping than originally suspected.

Grab a blanket and clear the weekend before beginning the search for Teddy which is compounded by the Blizzard conditions set in a frigid Minnesota winter.

The story is packed with action, suspense, revenge, intrigue, and secrets!
I read this one as a stand alone even though it was number 7 in the Agent Tori Hunter series and had no problem keeping up.

I suggest you read the book instead of listening due to the narrator who is very good, but since the onomatopoeia were written in the book the narrator had to read them. Therefore there were many many bang bangs and ping pings which sounded rather cheesy read aloud. It’d been better if it spoke, gunshot rang out, pinging off the railing and so forth.

I highly recommend!

Well another fantastic book by Roger Stelljes, I was only introduced to this author when I listened to book 1 not so long ago and I loved it so I haven't been able to read the others in between. Which is where I'd maybe get a little more of the personal story of Tori and Will as it grew over the series.

This however can be read very easily as a stand alone based on the fact it's a completely new case that Tori and Will are working on, also nice to see they are both together in all ways. I would like to have read the others just as a personal preference, but I really didn't feel it took anything away from the story itself.

Truly only deterective series, as I stated in my first review of Silenced Girls, that I feel the urge to follow on and continue to.

The only slight fault for me was with the narration which overall I enjoyed however the sound affects of what would be gunshots was a little tiresome and almost like something I'd imagine hearing in a children's book just slightly takes the seriousness of the story away a little for me but this is just a me thing!

With thanks to Netgalley & Bookouture Audio for this ALC.

I have liked every book in this series. This one is no exception.

It's got everything you could want in a mystery/thriller book. Murder, kidnapping, suspicious people, plenty of suspects.

I really enjoyed catching up with Tori and the gang. Even with how great all the regular characters are, I have to say Teddy was the star of this one. I loved how he was portrayed and the role he had in the entire book.

I cannot wait until another book comes out.

I alternated listening to the audio book and reading the print book, depending on where I was at the time. The narrator was great.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the arc.

I have been on a mystery kick lately and this is a good one. It kept me guessing until the end and I thought it was really well written. I’m always drawn to a story that has well fleshed out characters and I liked the way this book lets the reader get to know all players. I also thought the audiobook narrator was great.

Taken in the Cold by Roger Stelljes and narrated by Kate Handford is the amazing 7th book in the excellent Agent Tori Hunter series and I was so lucky to get a chance to read and listen to WoW this excellent audiobook. This book has been a completely addictive and I have loved it - It was great, that I had a chance to listen to audiobook 1 Silenced Girls recently which I enjoyed as well. I'm going back to purchase the other 5 audiobooks.
This was the same as the first book, fast paced and full of great twists and turns throughout and a great story......Agent Tori Hunter is a brilliant character: I just wished i read them all before when I had a chance.

The narrator by Kate Handford was excellent.

A boy has been kidnapped his mother and her boyfriend found dead, his dad is missing and presumed to be responsible but Tori Hunter doesn't think so. . A big winter storm is coming. Full of action and suspense this is a welcomed addition to the series. Kate Handgord continues her excellent narration of the series. Thanks to Bookoutre audio and Netgalley for this review audiobook

An edge of your seat thriller that consumes the reader with a twisted tale full of chills and endless action that will leave you speechless..

Gripping and clever, you will be grabbed from the first page until the last and in all likelihood in just one sitting.

If you are looking for a great read that is captivating and fast paced this one’s for you.

The audiobook is beautifully narrated adding extra suspense to the words. Highly recommended.

I had forgotten about Agent Tori Hunter so I've missed a lot of her story. It did not make this book at all hard to follow. Tori was back where she feels the most at home. She is trying to save a child. The kidnapping of the boy is only a part of this story. The action in the first half of the book was non-stop. And then you think you can relax but realize there is still a lot of story to be told. The narrator did a great job distinguishing the characters.

Roger Stelljes is a new to me author, and one I intend to continue reading more of his books after getting into the Detective Tori Hunter series. Tori is called in to help her boyfriend Will and his police force find a missing child after they find Teddy’s mother and boyfriend murdered. Not only do we get the police perspective of tracking down Teddy and the murderers, we also get the perspective of the crew that had Teddy. I enjoyed getting both sides of the story in that fashion. I attempted to solve the murder right along with Will and Tori.

I primarily listened to this book because I had a busy weekend, but the audio was well done. Even with only 1 narrator, it was still easy to differentiate between the characters.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my gifted copies of this book.

Listened to the first book in this series then saw this, the seventh, without having read or listened to the intervening books. There is some mention of happenings from the previous books but you can dive into this one and enjoy as a stand alone. It’s a good book, well written and keeps you interested from the start. The main characters are so likeable. The narration is excellent. I thoroughly recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review.
