I liked the story of Ruby and Garett, although I initially disliked Garett. I loved the dog and I was really rooting for Garett to get his dog back.
Ruby was an enjoyable character, I liked how she didn’t let Garett get away with anything and I wanted them both to have a happy ending

Not only is the title and cover absolutely adorable, but the book exceeds expectations.
This was my first book by this author, and I absolutely adored it.
Cute, believable characters, and wonderful pacing. A total reread.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy!

I liked the idea of this book, but in all honesty I struggled with the storyline and writing. The characters didn't do anything for me and I found the pace of the story really slow. It sounded more fun and cute than it actually was. The cookery part though was great and I really enjoyed the baking and cooking which broke up the storyline for me.

It does have some adult content in it, so be aware of this.

This was a very cute, fun rom-com! The FMC's voice was so delightful from the start, and I always adore a good cooking/baking story. There was humor and a fast-paced feel, and it was a fun time and read!

Unfortunately this book and writing just wasn’t for me. I found the two main characters extremely immature and their banter was just awkward, there was no chemistry at all. This was a DNF @27%

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun book. I love books that involved food and cooking and this was a great one!

This has a great romance, I loved the cooking setting (there's not many of these types of books). And HELLO! There's a dog named Cookie... who wouldn't love this.

Grumpy x sunshine romance is one of those tropes that can't be beat, especially after what the fmc went through, it's heartbreaking and can change anyone. But Ruby remained a sunshine character.

This is the type of book that you could snuggle up with on a rainy day.

OH MY GOD 😂😂!!
I love the GrumpyX Sunshine and enemies to romance done here!! The ambiance, the delicious cakes being made and the extremely well done family drama! Honestly, the tension between the two chefs is what made the entire thing extremely great and fun! I love the "unique" design treats 😂! Ruby and Garrett have my heart and it's definitely my favorite romance reads of November!! 😁

Really enjoyed this book from start to finish! I fell in love with Ruby and Garret from the beginning and was rooting for them to figure things out. The book cover caught my attention and when I read the books description, I knew it was perfect for me. A cozy, but spicy romance book I recommend giving a try.

What a fun grump lol... Loved it. Go Ruby! An enjoyable romance that was also fun. On the spicy side so be forewarned in case it's not your cup of tea or perhaps skip those parts and read the rest of the fun!

The MMC was unlikeable from the start and I tried to push through and read just so I could finish the book but it dragged for weeks and I normally finish a book within 2/3 so this was forcing me into a slump. This isn’t a dark romance so there was no reason for the MMC to be so unlikeable, he read like the bad ex rather than the love in interest, I just couldn’t get into the book.

I was lucky enough to read an advanced copy of Go Cook Yourself.

This is a Grumpy X Sunshine Dream. I laughed out loud while getting to know these characters. I love the attention given to everyone throughout the book. The relationships— Friendship, Family, or Romance make this story a Winner. I can't wait to read the rest of this Series and all the books by Rebecca Chase.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebecca Chase for my ARC copy in return for an Honest Review

Firstly, a big thank you to NetGalley / Victory Editing for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It’s taken me a week or two to write this because I simply cannot put into words how much I LOVED this book.

Honestly, I’m speechless. I adored the chemistry between the characters, the pacing of the story, and the writing style. And of course, Cookie completely stole the show!

This book has earned a spot on my 2024 favorites list and is definitely one I’ll re-read.

An absolutely refreshing and fun read! Not a bad word to say!

I love anything with a found family and a grump. Book was super sweet, and I loved the banter. I love a good cooking show or cooking competition show, so getting to read something like this book was just too fun. A cozy little read.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

This is a dual-pov, first-person, spicy romance novel! It’s an adorable winter story that takes place in winter and gives off The Great British Bake Off vibes!

I loved the tension between Ruby and Garett! Loved the character development, the family incorporation, and all things about Ruby’s family cookery school! It got spicy about halfway through, and did not disappoint! Highly recommend!

Such a steamy, yet hilarious rom-com! I loved/hated the beginning of this book, but was cheering for Ruby and Garrett with everything I've got the entire time.

I adore the grumpy x sunshine, and found family tropes - and this one had a swooning he falls first moment that was just perfect for the story. I absolutely adored all of the cooking innuendos, and Cookie - oh my gosh, how could you not love Cookie? What an amazing dog!!

This would be an absolute perfect book to watch while British Bake-off is playing in the background and you're all cozy on the couch with a blanket.

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book earlier on in the month which I am eternally grateful for, that being said this does not sway my opinion. I was not able to start nor finish this book before the release date for the title but I am still thankful to have been sent the copy non-the-less.

Go Cook Yourself is everything I did and didn't expect it to be. It was, to it's core, a traditional contemporary romance, it had all the usual cuts and trimmings of a romance book with the favoured tropes of grumpy x sunshine, (minor) fake dating, he falls first, etc but I was genuinely surprised how different it ended up being to how I assumed the story would go.

The author doesn't focus heavily on the competition the FMC Ruby enters as heavily as she could, which could have lead way to more stressful scenes and miscommunication/arguments but instead uses the few scenes she does write pertaining to practicing before the competition to either develop the characters of Ruby and Garett or develop their budding romance.

I will not lie, when I was scanning through Net-Galley and I came across this book, I was sold at the thought of Garett doing everything he can to get his dog back. The inclusion of Cookie was adorable and completely sold me into smashing that request button.

I did have moments where I wanted to smash their heads together because they were being annoyingly obtuse about each others feelings, and sometimes felt the same way about side characters who unintentionally made things worse for the main characters. But I loved the characters, they were all well written - even the supporting/background characters - and I often found myself howling with laughter over some of the jokes cracked.

If you're looking for a cute contemporary romance that fits the above tropes, are fans of dog heists and need a good book for the transitionary period between Halloween and Christmas then this is the book for you.

I don’t usually read British novels as I’ve had not so good experiences before but I’m glad I took a chance on this one.
The backstory of the main characters and the story itself was enthralling to read. I felt like I entered a new trope that I never had tried before. I can’t really explain it.
The story felt almost like a real life scenario.
He’s a playboy who never had a proper family and a relationship. She’s pushed her family away for her boyfriend and has been cheated on.
Both FMC and MMC are trying to find their footing and a relationship is not on their horizon.
She wants to restore her relationship with her family by helping her sister with the family business and he wants to restart his life after the betrayal his best friend and business partner but the only people who give him a chance are the FMC’s parents in their family business, a cookery school.
What they couldn’t see coming is the way, they feel attracted to one another.
The banter between the two makes it so much fun.
