I enjoyed this Audioboo immensely. The story was captivating and the narrator was spot-on, Perfect for an afternoon by the fire with a nice cup of tea.

[Thank you NetGalley for letting me listen to this book for free]… I really enjoyed this one. Was a very wholesome read, but despite it being cute and Christmassy, it also felt like there was depth to the plot and everything tied in well together. Really enjoyed listening to this and would defo recommend

Sarah Morgan does it again, a warm family story around the festive season. A family secret, romance and of course some nice characters. Although I did not really like Imogen in the beginning, I could understand why she behaved the way she did.

The story alternates between Imogen, Sarah, and Dorothy. Sarah is Dorothy’s daughter and they run the family vineyard together. Imogen’s company is doing the marketing and promotion for them. When Imogen switched firms Dorothy as a client followed her and they have a good and solid business relationship.

When Imogen is sent on leave because her boss feels that she is overworked she does take, after some consideration, the invitation from Dorothy to stay in a cottage on her land in the Cotswolds. As she was contemplating how she would get through the Christmas period otherwise.

At that place she finds out about a big secret in her past. First, she runs away for it, but after meeting the local vet and hearing stories she comes to terms with it all. How she comes to terms and what happens is, as usual with Morgan’s book, described as it could have happened in real life. Of course there is a happy ending for all involved, as it is a feelgood Christmas novel after all!

Yet another gorgeous, emotional festive read from the incomparable @sarahmorganwrites! If you’re looking to try your first Christmas book then I will always recommend Sarah’s because they’re utterly heartwarming without going over the cheesy line 🥰

This latest was one of my favourite recent reads - I loved the beautiful Cotswold setting with the rabble of animals and the picturesque cottage. I loved that we got some romance whilst also going quite deep into some family drama - don’t expect this to be an easy read as Imogen’s relationship with her mum is pretty heartbreaking. But of course you’ll finish it with a big smile on your face and all the warm fuzzies!

I’ve yet to read a single Sarah Morgan novel (whether a summery or Christmassy one!) which wasn’t a five star read!

I always enjoy Sarah Morgan's Christmas novels and this one was no exception. The Christmas Cottage follows Imogen as she's forced to take a break from work and is feeling lost. She bumps into a client, Dorothy and is invited to spend Christmas at her cottage. What follows is a story of secrets being revealed and people having to come to terms with what has happened in the past. There is also a romance but most importantly there is a very adorable dog! This book isn't the most Christmassy book but it is festive and it will warm your heart. I listened to the audiobook and very much enjoyed the way the narrator read the story. I recommend it!

A surprisingly emotional read which had me crying repeatedly but one which was also filled with the characteristic warmth Sarah Morgan's titles always deliver, with heartwarming twists, love in different forms, and - in this case - a delightful festive setting. I enjoyed delving into Dorothy's, Sarah's and Imogen's lives and getting to know these women apart and together and seeing them begin to know each other as well. Though at times this is a difficult read, there's plenty of love at the heart of it - whether it's romantic, familial, friendly, or animal. I enjoyed seeing family come together and romance blossom, as well as seeing the strength and comfort of the love between Sarah and her husband. The children, Ava and Iris, brought more light into the story and a dose of comedy. I also can't resist a book with a dog and Ralph certainly delivered! The audiobook was beautifully narrated and a joy to listen to. I haven't found a book of Sarah's that I haven't enjoyed yet and I'm sure I never will!

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

Well it’s that time of year again. By now having the new Sarah Morgan seasonal book is a very well loved Christmas tradition of mine. At this point Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without it! Like all her work this was another perfect book by her, great characters and an amazing setting. I had the audio book version and couldn't stop listening. Highly recommended. Make this part of your Christmas tradition too!
(Only thing I would have liked is more insight into Tina’s character at the end and her choices).

This book was a cozy holiday romance/family drama and reading Sarah Morgan`s new Christmas book has become a holiday tradition for me. These stories are always heartwarming and family-oriented with a side romance that is delicate and nicely written.

There are secrets revealed, deceit and a coming together of family through shared life stories. Seeing the characters bond and grow is nice, though from time to time you need to suspend your disbelief at the speed at which it happens. Although some parts can be heavy, the story still was full of hope and a light, fast-paced read.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a lovely job and helped maintain my interest in the story through their telling of it. It took me some time to adjust to the male voicing of Miles but the female and child voices were excellent!

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK Audio | HQ for this ALC. This is my honest review.

This was really lovely, there were tears as predicted.

I don’t think it would be unfair to say it’s not an entirely unique Christmas story, but that’s part of the beauty of it really, we want the happy ending, we want the watery smiles and it delivered that in abundance.

Imogen is lovely, but she’s very much grinding through life turning to work as her sole focus, everything else means solitude. She broke my heart a little bit. She’s invented a life story to feed to colleagues and it was really desperately sad.

Approaching burn out she is advised to take some leave, and it just so happens a client has a holiday cottage empty - enter LIFE ❤️

I really don’t want to spoiler this. It’s such a lovely heartwarming tale. With a bit of romance and some lovely doggies!

This will probably be my only Christmas book, I’m really I found it. It’s out now, if you’d like a little festive feel good read.

The audio narration by Henrietta Meire was really fitting, lovely stuff all round.

My gratitude to Harper Collins UK Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this title 🎧

I know that it's time to start thinking about preparing for Christmas in earnest when I start to listen to a Sarah Morgan Christmas book. I mostly listened while knitting in front of the fire and it fit perfectly.

Imogen is alone, she works in events management and has office friends but has invented a happy home life. Her real life couldn't be further from this. She is likeable and efficient and is a workaholic to fill the space in her life. Her favourite client, who has followed her to a new company is Dorothy.

After a day that goes wrong and her feckless mother is more cruel than usual Imogen starts to show chinks in her armour and takes enforced leave. Dorothy unexpectedly comes to the rescue and invites her to stay in her holiday cottage.

Most of the book was quite predictable but no less enjoyable for that. The romance and the actual Christmas seemed a little rushed and I would have liked a couple more chapters around that but was happy overall.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the DRC

I really loved this story. It made me laugh and cry and I really loved the story of family at the heart of this book. The romance was cute but the relationships between the women was the main focus and I appreciated it a lot.

If a cosy Christmas read is what you are looking for, then look no further than The Christmas Cottage by Sarah Morgan! The audiobook narrator, Henrietta Meire, was very pleasant to listen to and did a great job of voicing the various characters of different ages.

Oh my goodness, I felt so sorry for Imogen. She’s a total workaholic and has pretty much no life outside of work. She’s exceptionally good at her job as events planner and highly respected by clients and colleagues alike. Embarrassed to tell the truth about her lonely life, she makes up all kinds of things to tell her colleagues and gets herself into some awkward situations as a result. There’s one particular character who is just so horrible to Imogen and she didn’t deserve it at all. I wanted to swoop into the book and give Imogen a big cuddle.

Sarah Morgan often writes her novels from the points of view of several characters, often from different generations. This book was no exception. Although Imogen is definitely the main focus, there are also chapters from the perspective of Dorothy, one of Imogen’s clients and Sarah, Dorothy’s daughter. When Dorothy realises that Imogen will be alone for Christmas, she invites her to stay in a holiday cottage on her estate in the Cotswolds much to the disapproval of her daughter. There are secrets to be uncovered and Imogen realises that what she thinks she knows about her earlier life isn’t the full truth.

I don’t want to say much about the plot of course but this is a really heart-warming read about finding your place in life, the importance of family and naturally there’s a pleasing romantic element too. The Christmas Cottage is a feel-good story which will leave you feeling warm inside.

What a perfect festive read!! The characters are so well written, I loved the layers of Imogen and her whole story. The pace is perfect and I was left feeling ready for Christmas by the end of it. Great narration too, the narrator bought extra depth to the characters. Thank you so much for this arc

A more heartwarming festive tale you couldn’t find! I was rooting so hard for Imogen (our MC) and I was so invested towards the end, I just wanted the happiest of endings for her.

She’s struggled through a lot of her life, mostly alone. She’s a workaholic who has little to relate to her work colleagues and invents herself a happier life filled with family and a much loved dog. Her reality couldn’t be further from the truth but with a forced month away from work over the Christmas period, she starts to confront her life and finds so much a long the way. Her stay in a certain Christmas cottage is healing in more ways than one.

There’s romance, found family and the most beautiful character development and aw. I just loved it and following Imogen’s story was lovely. I had no idea I’d get so into it and the audiobook I absolutely flew through. It was narrated well and it certainly added to its binge listening factor.

So happy I read this and it’s a perfect festive Christmassy read.

A truly magical Christmas story. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole story. The narrator did a fantastic job with the voices. I was fully engrossed throughout and listened to it all in a couple of days. Imogen’s tale and character particularly was beautifully written. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me access to this audiobook. If I could award more than 5 stars I would.

Sarah Morgan’s "The Christmas Cottage" is a heartwarming tale that perfectly captures the magic of the holiday season. The story centers on Imogen, a talented but troubled events organizer whose professional mishap becomes a catalyst for self-discovery. When she accepts an invitation to a cozy Cotswolds cottage, the idyllic setting and supportive characters allow her to reassess her life and confront the secrets of her past.

The narrative is reminiscent of "The Holiday", but with its unique charm—focusing more on the empowering relationships Imogen has with the women in her life. Morgan’s evocative descriptions of the cottage and the close-knit village create an enchanting, festive atmosphere that is pure Christmas perfection. The blend of romance, friendship, and personal growth makes this audiobook a delightful listen.

Henrietta Meire’s narration enhances the experience, bringing warmth and nuance to Imogen’s journey. Whether you’re looking for a cozy holiday escape or a feel-good story of redemption and connection, *The Christmas Cottage* is a wonderful pick for the season.

Christmas has officially begun for me when I read a Sarah Morgan Christmas book. The author is the queen of Christmas books to me and I always love reading her books. Last year and this year I decided to listen to them and couldn't listen quick enough. This one gave me the holiday vibes a bit and want to stay at holly cottage myself! This book is like a warm hug and will make you curl up in front of the fire reading all night. Thanks to the publisher and to netgalley for this audio book.

I want to thank NetGalley and @hqstories for approving me for an ARC of this book.

With a beautiful snowy setting, this book is littered with Christmas traditions to put you in a festive mood.

On top of that, we have some furry four-legged friends of many varieties to entertain us. Although Ralph is definitely my favourite!

Family, secrets, regrets and trust are all at the centre of this story. Imogen's hard exterior and work ethic are better understood as we get to know her. The relationship, or lack of it, that she had with Tina is devastating.

I absolutely loved getting swept away by Events Organiser Imogen and her blinkered approach to life, throwing herself into her work as the only family she could rely on was her bitter and horrid mother who wanted nothing to do with her.

We find Imogen sent away from work after dropping the ball and instructed to have a month off, all of Christmas, which she usually spends alone. Dorothy, one of her clients invites Imogen to the Cotswolds to stay in her holiday cottage but it seems she has an ulterior motive rather than just generosity.

I loved all the characters, it was the perfect Christmas read and I will definitely be reading more by Sarah Morgan.

Thanks to the publisher and Sarah for an advanced listen, which was expertly narrated! An absolute Gem of a Christmas Cracker!
