This is absolutely fantastic, and I will be purchasing this for all future baby showers I attend. It's fun, hilarious and oh so relatable. It's much more than a coloring book. There are sections for photos or drawings, word searches, word scrambles, mazes, mad libs and more. The poems and advice are equally hilarious and accurate.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital copy.
Cute and fun! Definitely something to do to pass the time while waiting for the little one to arrive
I think color me pregnant by Rachel hastings is an excellent source for newly pregnant individuals, especially those who like to journal already. It has a lot of very good and important information that only a pregnant person would need to know.
I love this so much! This book takes a humorous and REALISTIC view on pregnancy that many moms, especially NEW ones, will greatly appreciate. The traditional pregnancy journals are boring and hard to add to a routine, but this one is doable and looks so fun! Required reading for every expecting mom in your life!
First off, I absolutely peed my 3rd pair of undies while reading this, so the content description for this book is absolutely on point. In context, I am 37 weeks pregnant, so I was bound to pee my pants at some time or another.
Rachel Hastings Color Me Pregnant is a book I can see myself giving all my pregnant friends at their next Summer baby shower because baby making/ cuddly season is upon us people! Hastings' book brings laughter and fun for the 40 week journey and is a great keepsake to look back on when one’s pregnancy brain comes back online (whatever and whenever that happens!). I really enjoyed the fill in the blank section on page 25 where you document what random people tell you while you’re pregnant because sadly this is a thing! I wish it was followed with a color-your-feelings on the response part and maybe a snarky what did you want to do or wish to do in response part, so one can process what that unsolicited part of information was off handley given to them. I’m talking about YOU random trick or treater parent who decided to not only touch my belly, but give me their worst pregnancy moment while I am stuck giving their kid Halloween candy. Ugh people we can do SO MUCH better! One way to start is by buying Rachel Hastings book and gifting it to your next preggo friend, donating it to your midwife or OB library.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto & Walter FosterPublishing Group for allowing me to review this eReader copy of Color Me Pregnant by Rachel Hastings.
This book is just hilarious and fun! Gosh I had 3 sisters in laws that were pregnant this year and they really could have used this book to get them through it. It is so fun, and so many activities and some of it just makes me want to laugh out loud. Nothing too serious. But gosh, I was on bed rest for a few of my pregnancies, and it would have been nice to have something fun like this to do while I was laying around for days, lol. If you are thinking of making a fun basket of goodies for your pregnant family or friends, or maybe you just want a pick-me-up during your pregnancy... this is the book! enjoy!
This is an excellent activity book with lovey and funny illustrations that will keep your pregnant self or friend, or loved one busy, and mindful.
It is both silly and informative.
I loved this! It’s so much more than a colouring book. It’s full of lighthearted quizzes, word searches, activities, and more, all focussing on what can be a tricky (and magical) time. It’s nice to have something that focuses on the positive, and is a bit more tongue in cheek. Perfect for a new mum, or seasoned mama.
Would definitely recommend.
With thanks to the publisher, and to Netgalley, for an e-ARC to read and review.
