These are fine. My favorite is “Let’s Go” about where books take you all over. The spring and the gnome or the goblin is also really fun and that is probably my favorite illustration in the book. I’m not really a fan of the illustration and altogether this would not be a book I would pick up frequently. It’s hard to compare to Shel Silverstein and this author doesn’t come close.

The 20 Little Poems For 20 Little Gnomes by Raven Howell was a very visually pleasing book. I have been trying to get back into poetry recently and found this book to a really addition to this personal challenge of mine. I think this would be a great first foray into poetry for any child.

The 20 Little Poems For 20 Little Gnomes by Raven Howell was a very visually pleasing book. I have been trying to get back into poetry recently and found this book to a really addition to this personal challenge of mine. I think this would be a great first foray into poetry for any child.

My son is super into gnomes right now, so I picked this book based on its title and was disappointed that in this case they just meant it as a cute term for children. While there were some sprites/fairies/goblins/unicorns depicted, it is sorely lacking in gnomes. The vibe of both the poems and the illustrations was a little rough and ready.

I was given a free copy of this from NetGalley for my honest review.
A visually very attractive book, with beautifully written poems.
I would recommend it,

I cannot emphasize enough how beyond precious, adorable, sweet, and charming this book is. Howell managed to capture my heart IMMEDIATLEY with the charm of these little poems, and the accompanying illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. Each page was crisp and clear, and I had no issue in reading the words that were incorporated against the illustrated backgrounds. The colors are bright and pop off the page, but put into pleasing palettes that to not strain the eye. An absolute beloved victory.

I love poetry collections for kids, and this is a fun one! Though, the title had me confused, I thought the poems would all be about gnomes.

This was a fun little book!
The poems are easy to read and follow and they were accompanied by some lovely illustrations.
We split the book to read it over a couple of nights and it was thoroughly enjoyable.
A great mix of little poems which we really enjoyed.
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

I'm constantly on the lookout for fresh poetry for kids and I'm so glad this came across my radar. This is an adorable book with beautiful illustrations. It's a versatile title that can be read in a day or savored poem by poem. I've already thought of lots of extension activities kids could do to go along with this book.

This was such an adorable book. The illustrations are so cute, and really enhance the poems they're paired with. The poems are sweet and whimsical and really capture your imagination. This is a great way to introduce kids to poetry, share your own love of poetry with the younger generation, or even just recapture that spark poetry first lit in your heart. My little one keeps asking to hear a poem before bed, so I think she would recommend as well!

This is an incredible little book of poems that ambitious young readers will have a fun time reading.
The illustrations are a bit wild, but I love them. The illustrations feel raw and fun, which gives the entire book a feeling like it's been homemade for the reader.
The poems are short to read and feels a bit reminiscent of books like Where the Sidewalk Ends. A few of the poems really stood out to me, like Sadness. It such a sweet poem that will encourage empathy as well as learning new vocabulary words.

The 20 Little Poems for 20 Little Gnomes is the perfect introduction to poetry for children. The poems are bite-sized rhymes. All are little snippets of positivity, complimented by delightful illustrations.

Cute little poems coupled with adorable illustrations. Interesting word choices might be tough for younger ones to interpret immediately, but understanding should come with repeat reading

“A book can take me by the hand, whisk me to another land…”
Twenty imaginative poems about the joy in everyday moments, to inspire young and old to explore the delightfully wonderful world of rhythm and rhyme, created by Raven Howell. Illustrations by Nazali Tarcan are playful and nostalgic. This was a wonderful read with the little gnomes seated on (or nearby) my lap.

A set of twenty very short child-friendly poems, given copious examples of an illustrative style I really didn't find attractive. There are verses about taking a quiet breather, or mice reading books, or a gift of a robin's feather, and looks at cheering us up, spreading love and the benefits of a hug. It's all very strong on the rhyme, but however instantly appealing things are they are too short to really stick in the mind – and when the bulk of the page is that artwork, well it's going to struggle to get more than three and a half stars.

A cutesy book of poetry that is perfect to get the children's imaginations firing and keeping it there with the lovely illustrations.
I tried it out on my grandchildren and they loved it, so a resounding success.

This collection of poems is perfect for children. They are short poems with illustrations that are easy for children to understand.

Wonderfull collection of childrens poems. Perfect way to introduce kids to some light poetry. Poems are short, and thought provoking. Acompanied with beautiful illustrations help kids as a form of visual aid and to entice discussion.

It was nice reading this book but I feel that the rhymes should be more catchy and easier with words that are in daily usage for kids to enjoy it more and remember them. That is my personal experience from my kid's overall interest in the book.
It is a good read . New rhymes so more fun.

A lovely book for introducing young children to poetry.
The illustrations are beautiful throughout.
Between The Sun and the Moon was my favourite.
I do think it is a shame that there weren’t more poems, I could have carried on reading more.
