I know I can always count on Abby Jimenez to deliver wit, depth, and emotion in equal measure whenever I pick up one of her books, and "Say You'll Remember Me" is no exception.
After a rocky first meeting, and a second chance that turns into a laugh out loud funny first date, I was certainly rooting for our main characters Samantha and Xavier to make long distance work. I particularly liked their banter throughout, and loved that Xavier might be the biggest animal lover out of all of Abby's MMCs (which is saying something if you've read any of her previous books)! While I enjoyed the tension caused by the various "will they or won't they" moments throughout the story, as with Abby's other books the story has added dimension thanks to the sub plot about Samantha's family. As always, Abby did a great job handling a sensitive subject matter with care.
Thank you to Little Brown Book Group UK, NetGalley and of course Abby Jimenez for this advance copy!

This was the first Abby Jimenez book I have read, and I know she is very popular amongst Booktok/Bookstagram, so I was super excited for NetGalley to give me this opportunity!
Say You'll Remember Me was a light, fluffy contemporary romance novel. The book did have some trigger warnings so please pay attention, but overall the book wasn't dark. Was it the greatest romance story I've ever read? No, sometimes I found the writing a bit too cheesy and repetitive, but it was easy. I did enjoy the story a lot of the time, and I am a sucker for a HEA which is why this review is 3 stars.
If you like Insta love, romantic cliche's, grumpy x sunshine trope then you will likely enjoy this book.

Give me an Abby Jimenez book and I will eat it up. However, I just couldn't get on board with this story. Maybe it's because it's still in the editing process but I found the "forget me" storyline just a little too obvious that there would be a happy ending... it's a romance book. cmon.
I might give it another go when it is published next year, but it just didn't stick. I liked the characters but wouldn't talk about them forever like some others (if you get what I'm on about)

I have always been a huge fan of Abby so I was so excited when I received this arc. Unfortunately not every book will be for you, just like this one was for me. The biggest issue I had with this book is the pacing. Everything just happened way too fast for my liking that I was bored when I got to the halfway mark. I will say that I love that Abby deals with heavier issues in her book. It is such a refreshing thing to see when you are constantly seeing cute fluffy books. I love a good book that will make me cry. I will continue with the series but sadly this wasn’t a hit for me.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, heart in my hands just hoping it would all work out.
This is a lovely meet cute story with emotion and genuine romance. The banter between our love interests is immaculate, I laughed a lot along the way. It’s not very spicy which I’m good with as I love that the relationship and characters personal story is the focus.
The author tackles family grief and health in a lovely way, showcasing authentically the ups and downs, and the hard decisions you have to make for those you love.
I had a wonderful time reading this, it was so genuine and heartwarming even with the hardships suffered along the way.

How sweet and heartbreaking this book was !
The first encounter between Sam and Xavier is pretty explosive : he wants to euthanize a kitten Sam has found, and she doesn't. Clearly, this vet is a grump ! But she can't resist, after the kitten has been healed, to come back to him to gloat a little bit. And then, he asks her on a date. And everything is perfect ! Except when she tells him she won't see him anymore...
Lots of lovely moments, lots of sadness too, and a relationship that seems to be doomed since the begining, and yet they can't get away from the other.
Thank you Abby Jimenez, I had a blast !

This book is not a romcom.
I find that Abby Jimenez's books are wrongly marketed as such, even though they deal with often heavy subjects. And I honestly think this is the least happy book l've read by her so far.
While I enjoyed the characters independently and together, it was the situation they found themselves in that I didn't like. Even though I understood the reasons why their relationship was actually impossible to live with in a healthy way, Xavier was making himself physically, financially and mentally ill, working beyond his means to be able to travel and see Samantha. And while that can be very beautiful in a romantic way, I found it deeply unfair to him. I really didn't like the fact that it gave me anxiety throughout my reading. The further we got into the story, the less hope we had. And I couldn't wait to get to the end of the book. I was sincerely relieved at the epilogue.
However, I really liked the dynamics of Samantha's family. All the sacrifices and accommodations they make to help their ailing mother were sincerely heartbreaking. It's a situation we wouldn't wish on anyone, and seeing them tear each other apart at times, but united most of the time, gave the story a realistic, heartfelt feel.
I think fans of Abby Jimenez will enjoy this book more than I did Because even though I loved Just for the Summer, in general the 80% crisis in her books always ruined the reading experience for me. And this book was not at all the kind of romance I dream of unfortunately.

Say You’ll Remember Me was my first Abby Jimenez novel but it definitely won’t be my last. Her writing style reminded me of Paige Toon with its sweeping romance and real emotional depth.
One thing I really appreciated about this book was its sensitive and honest portrayal of dementia. Having experienced it myself with my grandma, I felt the depiction of the grief and loss was handled beautifully. It added so much heart to the story and gave it a layer of depth beyond the romance.
I absolutely loved the romance itself. I’m not usually a fan of insta-love, but Samantha and Xavier’s connection felt authentic and believable. Both characters were so well-drawn that I couldn’t help but root for them.
Xavier was such a charming yet flawed hero, and Samantha’s wit and vulnerability made her equally endearing. I also enjoyed the playful pop culture references, especially the ACOTAR Rhysand comparison when describing Xavier.
The story struck a perfect balance, with poignant moments that tugged at my heartstrings and witty, lighter scenes that made me smile. I also really enjoyed the dual POV, which gave insight into both characters and made their emotions and struggles feel even more real.
Overall, this is a beautifully written and deeply emotional romance that I couldn’t put down. It is poignant, funny, and full of heart and I'll definitely be reading more books by Abby Jimenez.

I didn't have the best time with the beginning of this book. It was cute and very funny, but seemed too simple, the sentences too short, too shallow.
There were things I could have done without, like the ridiculous pop culture references, but ultimately, I forgot all the negatives by the time I reached the end.
I should have known not to doubt Abby Jimenez, and her ability to create a deeply emotional love story.
This book made me cry ugly tears, for many reasons. The unfairness of the situation, the obstacles, the longing, the individual traumas and challenges both characters had to overcome, the family issues.
I was a big fan of the way Samantha and Xavier's love story was told through a compilation of little moments, some happy, some sad or bittersweet. I loved the dual POV and insight into their thoughts, how they both wanted to be vulnerable and to share everything with the other. A classic case of meeting the right person at the wrong time.
I couldn't wait to find out how it would end, and I was very satisfied with the conclusion.

Abby Jimenez always does the most wonderful job of balancing important topics with witty banter and whimsical romance. Say You'll Remember Me is funny, sad, fun, and emotional. It comes with it's own creative vocabulary choice of VILF, and iconic date choices (the most creative forced proximity trope we have read in a while). Bonus points for a Taylor Swift reference in the title (it definitely helps us remember the title more). Jimenez juxtaposes the small town vibes with sprawling California nicely. It really makes us wish that this book could be out in January instead of April.

I was filled with such joy to receive this ARC! Abby Jimenez is and will always be one of my favourite authors. She is such a talented writer.
While I adored majority of this book there were aspects that I couldn’t find myself liking.
I’ve never been one to like Insta love and while this book tackled such heavy topics I missed the aspect of them needing to overcome an emotional arc that related to their relationship.
Do not get me wrong the heavy topics it tackled broke my heart but I knew they’d end up together. They were emotionally together from their first date and then on the problems were due to distance.
I would have loved to see them needing to tackle something emotional that left me guessing if they would end up together or not.
I will be purchasing a physical the day it releases and putting my annotations in 🤍
Thank you netgalley!

This may just be my new favourite romance! From start to finish I couldn’t put it down, and just loved how the story unfolded.
I’m a big fan of Abby Jimenez, one of those reasons being that she doesn’t just write a romance, there is also underlying topics involved, some being quite hard hitting and sensitive, but it makes her books more realistic, and not just a fluffy romance.
This book was just like that, with a beautiful romance story unfolding but with topics in play that stop the MC’s from being together, and it could be so heartbreaking at times, but ultimately you could understand their reasoning.
I’d definitely recommend this book to all the romance lovers out there, and thank you to NetGalley UK and the publishers for this advanced copy

I was absolutely thrilled to be able to read the new Abby Jimenez ahead of its release next year. A huge thank you to Abby and @littlebrownbookgroup_uk for the chance to read it and provide a review.
I devoured this book, read in one sitting, I laughed, I cried and felt so many emotions, I cried laughing at some points. I wasn't sure right at the beginning because of the way the story started with the kitten, but I kept reading and I'm so glad I did
The subject of dementia was dealt with so well, the love stories in the book were just gorgeous. I felt like I got to know the characters well and I liked that the story was told from the perspectives of the two protagonists. It was well paced, there was a great storyline and I just had to read it to the end because I was desperate to know how it ended!
Another fantastic read by Abby Jimenez

I loved this book. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end.

I don't typically read contemporary romance but I have seen this author mentioned a lot on social media so thought I would give it a try.
For me first impressions weren't great, although there were trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, specifically mentioning about animal abuse, one of the first scenes we read about is the female main character taking a kitten she has found to the vet who is our main male character. The trigger warnings are great at clarifying that the main characters DOG will never die but doesn't say about other animals. So in this first scene he basically tells her to put the kitten to sleep and doesn't even really consider any alternatives aas he's in a bit of a mood and being grumpy that day. And because of his very serious attitude and the fact that she had just found the kitten I didn't see how the kitten would be saved to begin with which I found very jarring and was enough to make me serious consider DNF-ing. Thankfully the female main character creates a fundraiser and does save the kitten.
The story definitely got better after this and I really enjoyed reading a 'normal' romance (I primarily read fantasy). It was a bit instalovey but it was cute that the main characters liked each other so much and were trying everything they could to spend time together. Later in the book a side character is talking to the male main character and is basically saying that although he's invested a lot in his business, it's possible to start again and he should go after the girl if he believes she's the one. There's a lot more said around this but I think it was a good reflexion about deciding what is important to you in life.
The writing style wasn't my favourite, I found it very casual almost like texting a friend or writing in a diary rather than a book. This may very well just be the author's style of writing in general and while I wasn't the biggest fan of it I still found this book an easy and quick read.
3.75/5

THE ONE WITH THE ABBY JIMENEZ’S NEXT-LEVEL MASTERPIECE 🤩
Abby Jimenez has done it again with Say You’ll Remember Me! Coming April 2025, this book is an emotional rollercoaster that takes you from moments of sharp humor and swoony banter to deeper, heartfelt themes like dysfunctional families and childhood trauma.
The story centers around a grumpy but oh-so-hot veterinarian with zero bedside manner (but major swoon potential) and a strong, determined heroine you’ll root for from page one. True to Abby’s style, it’s packed with witty humor, a slow-burn romance, and just enough steam to keep you hooked 🔥 The build-up to the happy ending had me grinning like a fool 💖
I devoured it in just 48 hours (and would have been faster, but you know… work 🤪) and, dare I say it, I loved this even more than Just for Summer. If you’re a fan of romances with emotional depth, razor-sharp dialogue, and characters you can’t help but fall for, this is the one 📆 Mark your calendars—this book is everything you didn’t know you needed in 2025! Get ready to fall in love all over again with Abby’s magic ✨
📚 Who else is ready for a broody vet and all the banter? Let me know your favourite grumpy-sunshine romance in the comments!
This Review going on Instagram next week

Aaand I have myself a new favourite Abby Jimenez book 🥹🫶🏼 This book is EVERYTHING 😭 I laughed, I cried, and it’s gone straight into my top 3 of this year!

🎡 complex family dynamics

Xavier and Samantha share one incredible date… only for Samantha to tell him that she is moving 2000 miles across the country the following day. Neither can stop thinking about the other so they try to make it work, despite both of them being tied to where they currently live.
𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨…
I absolutely adore Abby Jimenez’s stories - they are always the perfect mix of swoon, laughter, tenderness and heartbreak, and this one is no different.
This book starts with a single perfect date, so I worried it might be insta-lovey… but it works SO well because Xavier & Samantha are truly perfect for one another 🤍 You don’t doubt their connection or their love for one second, and it makes your heart hurt so much as they are in the most impossible situation 😭
I have to spend a moment on Xavier 😮💨 He is possibly my perfect man, and also he’s a vet sooo baby animals 🥹 He is so competent, so steady, and the perfect balance to Samantha’s witty & slightly chaotic persona (I also love her 🫶🏼). He is a man who will do absolutely anything for the woman he loves, my favourite kind 😭
As with all of Abby’s books, there is a lot going on outside of the love story - in this book it’s complex family dynamics related to health, primarily dementia 💔
But despite the heavy topics (and it really is quite bleak at times), I laughed out loud so many times (actual giggling fits on a couple of occasions), cried tears of cuteness (Hank 😭), and truly fell in love with these two 🫶🏼
Please race to pick this up on April 1st, it’s INCREDIBLE 🩷🩷🩷

I think Say You'll Remember Me is Abby Jimenez's most wonderful novel yet, and I also think it is the saddest. This beautiful book - about connection and soulmates and family and love and past hurts and expectations - is so full of longing that I felt like my heart was about to burst. But also, my heart was full of happiness as well as deep understanding and gratefulness for all those little moments in life that make living more meaningful. A song playing on the radio that brings back a wonderful memory, or a phrase you and your family have a special meaning to and all you need is to look at the other person to burst out laughing, or something you and your spouse share that nobody else understands. Little things - that through the years become the biggest things of all.
That shared history and togetherness is what our two wonderful main characters want but can't have. And it's nobody's fault, that's just life. And it can break your heart.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Little, Brown Book Group UK for the ARC!

Abby Jimenez you will always be famous!
This was definitely her most emotional book, it is quite sad with a few occasional happy moments in between.
I can’t even count the amount of times I cried.
One thing Abby can write is amazing banter between the two main characters, you can tell from the form date these 2 are meant to be together. Probably were together in another lifetime.
The topic of dementia was very hard for me to read for personal reasons but I still think she covered it well, didn’t shy away from the hard truths and how it effects families.
I still think Just For The Summer is my ultimate favourite Abby book but this one is still amazing and definitely worth reading

*thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Oh my what a ride! I am seriously unwell.this book made me feel all the feels.I cried and I laughed. Made me feel everything!
I thoroughly enjoyed it. From the first page, I was drawn into the emotional depth and compelling storyline. The characters felt real and their development throughout the novel was so well-done. I particularly loved the blend of romance, heartache, and self-discovery that Jimenez skillfully weaves into the plot. The dynamics between the protagonists were complex yet heartwarming, making their journey together all the more captivating. This book left a lasting impression on me, and I’ll definitely be thinking about it for a long time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a story full of heartfelt moments and a dash of humor.
