Break Point is a tennis, second chance romance that's entertaining. Perhaps, thinking about it, playing tennis against an ex would up the anti and determination to beat them.

Break Point is a fun book to read and it would take guts to play against your ex and there are certainly differences to settle and sparks that fly on and off the court.

Teagan is a strong, independent woman in how she started over in life and carried on after romance had failed. When she meets her ex, Dominic Fletcher life gets a bit more competitive and interesting for the reader to observe.

Both of their lives are interesting to follow, although didn't always grab me in its entirety as it washes over, but little sticks, however, what was fascinating was the fact it was a tennis story and I've not seen many of those around in the fictional genre (could just be me though). So for something different, this could be a nice read. It is a nice story to settle down to after a busy day.

Break Point by Yahrah St. John is a lighthearted and engaging romance perfect for a summer read. The story follows Teagan Williams, a former tennis star whose career and personal life were derailed by betrayal. After stepping away from the sport and rebuilding her life, she’s offered a chance to compete again in a country club tournament. But there’s a catch—her ex, Dominic Fletcher, also a tennis pro, is in the mix.

Dominic, who once sacrificed everything for his career, now feels unfulfilled, despite his success. When he encounters Teagan again at a charity tournament, it reignites both old tensions and undeniable chemistry. As they face off on the court, their past relationship and the unresolved feelings between them come to the forefront.

With witty banter, steamy moments, and a lot of tennis-themed drama, Break Point is an enjoyable, easy-to-read romance that mixes second-chance love with the thrills of competition. The chemistry between Teagan and Dominic makes for a fun ride as they work through their differences, both on and off the court. If you're looking for a breezy, feel-good romance to get lost in, this one fits the bill.

A great story line with competing characters and a second chance romance. Full of witt, feelings and some great tennis matches!
A headstrong female MC supported by her girlfriends made this for a cool, current read.

General Thoughts: Second chance romance is my favourite trope , I loved the chemistry between Dominic and Teagan

‘Break Point’ by Yahrah St. John is the final book in the ‘Six Gems’ series, following a group of six women who find love whilst realising their independent dreams. I was attracted to this novel because I’m a big tennis fan, and I enjoyed the mentions of Teagan in ‘Going Toe To Toe’ (the previous instalment), and it was a spicy, lighthearted read.

I really enjoyed the scenes with Teagan’s friends, as it was a joy to revel in the success of the loved-up Gems… they excelled as mothers, business owners and brides-to-be while remaining supportive of each other. The strong focus on female friendships is a definite selling point of the series! The chemistry between Dominic and Teagan was strong and had me rooting for a HEA.

As soon as I read about Dominic battling through a grueling “six sets” at the Australian open, I knew this wouldn’t win Grand Slam trophies for its accuracy, so I let various references to the sport wash over me but missed being able to embrace tennis fangirling. Without that element to elevate the story, it was a fun but forgettable romance.

Clever. Spicy. And full of brilliant characters. Both male and female characters were brilliant, snazzy and sassy. We had a definite strength in our female. But she had such tender parts too. And I loved how our male lead was spicy but caring too.
I love the film Wimbledon when I was younger. And so this automatically grabbed my attention,ha.
It was clever and witty and hit all the right notes to male the plot points hit.

Competitive but make it spicy ❤️‍🔥

Tegan was such a great character. She was very head strong but knew when she needed help. I also found her inner monologues hilarious especially the ones with her family! I LOVED the descriptions of her tennis outfits as well. I enjoyed Dominic’s character and how he supported his family no matter what. He was very encouraging and he knew what he wanted.

It was interesting to read about both of their family dynamics whilst juggling the press and love for each other. The chemistry between Teagan and Dominic was electric on and off the court.

I especially loved the Gems! They were such a strong friendship group who supported Tegan and her struggles. Overall, the pacing was good and it was a lovely romance story.
