I thought this book had so much potential after reading the description but unfortunately I just couldn’t connect with the characters .

I did love Sutton, how strong she was and how she tried to actually communicate with Xavier and fight for them but the miscommunication (mostly on his side) and the way he acted was slightly irritating, not going to lie, and really affected my experience of reading this book, which is ultimately why I can’t give it more than 3 stars.

An entertaining and well paced read. Do we want s certain ending? Yes we do. Do mind reading how they get there? No we don't.
Like many things in life there is a misunderstanding that changes their lives and relationship. We really don't communicate well as humans sometimes!
I liked these characters. And actually haven't read a novel based around a film set in a very long time if ever.

Unfortunately this book was a DNF for me. I read 50% and there was just something missing. I can't quite put my finger on it because the tropes were something I would typically eat up. I guess I didn't feel any connection between the characters which just didn't help at all. I loved the idea of the book but I guess it just wasn't for me.

This was fast-paced, full of authentic detail, and while I found it easy to guess where it was going for the most part, I still enjoyed the journey to get there. Xavier and Sutton are realistic characters shaped by their upbringings, which make their interactions rife with caution and assumptions. The whole miscommunication trope is generally a divisive one: personally I don’t mind it because it happens in real life, but I found it wryly amusing that it happens repeatedly here even though they recognise it’s an issue. The supporting cast is varied and well-drawn (I particularly liked Erik and his machinations), the setting is original and evocative, and I happily read it in a day.

This book seems rather on point at the moment with the fires in LA. It’s quite a fast paced romance between two strong characters. It started with a misunderstanding, years before the beginning of the story, and the way it affects Sutton and Xavier years later. An enjoyable holiday read! Recommended.

This was very lovely. A sharp sense of dialogue and a setting in a film set that was brought to life and made real for the plot line. Both leads were attractive and appealing, and the historical misunderstanding forms the basis for the book's opening. The relationship gets started early on, and the will they / won't they don't drag on, which is appreciated. The book clips on at pace, with a strong mix of the action on the film set, the relationship of the couple and the wider family and close friends and how they link to the plot. The ending is great and brings a little tear which is always a positive for me!

I seem to have read a few books recently set in the Los Angeles film industry and it proves there’s nothing original - only the execution.

Theis was a fairly entertaining and enjoyable romance set in the filmmaking industry.. It was a good mix of humour, drama, and fun events.
I thought the weakest elements were the characters as it felt as if they all ticked boxes designed to fit the plot arc and romance beats. I didn’t really feel I knew them any better at the end than at the beginning.

A very cute, short and snappy romance. I really enjoyed the quick pace of this book, from the first chapter we were introduced to the main characters and their romance was already sparking. Erwin writes fast paced scenes very well, this book read easily and with a lot of chemistry between Sutton and Xavier. I also enjoyed the Hollywood feeling to it all, it felt very modern with the talks about filmmaking and movie production. An all around good feeling book to read, I’m happy both the movie itself and Sutton and Xavier got their happy ending.
