I want to thank NetGalley for approving me for an ARC of this book and to Simon and Schuster for sending me a physical copy, as part of a prize win.
After reading the first book in this series I knew I had to read all about Matty and Ro. Peyton Corrine did not disappoint!
Whilst it is inevitable that these two characters will end up together, they have a lot of obstacles and individual challenges to face along the way. Seeing Ro become stronger and more resilient was a real transformation but it was Matty who stole my heart.
A guy that's only good enough for a "good time", isn't smart enough and has to sleep his way to the top. It's a good job he has his looks to see him through. How wrong all these assumptions were and I loved watching him beat down all those stereotypes. It was his story with Archer that caused me to have a lump in my throat though.
I'm really excited to read the next in this series, hopefully we won't have too long to wait 🤞

Book 2 in The undone series. I loved book 1 but I was obsessed with Freddy so I was so happy to find out that book 2 was Freddy’s story!
Ro and Freddy’s story is so beautiful Freddy is such an amazing book boyfriend nothing like his personality would have you believe he is.
The storyline really touches on subjects that are very common but people still don’t talk about enough.
This book highlights how much people struggle with adhd, dyslexia and dyscalculia and how often they are told they are stupid! I can really connect with Freddy in this sense and also with Ro over her ex boyfriend and his terrible treatment of her making her feel ashamed for being her.

"I think you'd be really easy to love."
Having loved Peyton Corinne's debut in Unsteady, I knew I would adore Unloved. And adore it I did. Ro and Freddy's story is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Corinne is unparalleled in writing these earnest, real, and raw characters with such deep emotions and beautiful journeys, both individually, and together as a couple. There is never any doubt that her to MCs will bring out the best in each other. For me, this one particularly hit home, as I saw so much of myself in Ro. Her experience of being in an abusive relationship was written honestly and handled with great care. Every Ro deserves her Freddy. And Freddy... oh man. I am so glad he finally got the love he so desperately needed and deserved in Ro. These two are perfect for each other. I know I will be reading and rereading Peyton Corinne's books until the day I die. Thank you for this story.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for a copy of the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I think some feelings just can’t be put into words, they go beyond words. That’s what this book did to me. It hit me in such a way I didn’t expect, and that’s why it took me so long to write this review. The words finally came to me, but I’ll be honest and say that it still doesn’t feel like it’s enough to encompass the impact this book had on me.
As with Unsteady, I was in love with this book before I even read it ( and the sentiment extends to the books to come in this series). But after reading Unloved, my love for it skyrocketed to another level.
Unloved is a beautifully written story for the ones who never feel like they’re enough, no matter how hard they try, or that they’re “too much” - the people pleasers, hopeless romantics, rejection fearers - anyone who just wants to feel loved and wanted. Needless to say this book was for me 🙈
✨I think you’d be really east to love.✨
Rosalie “Ro” Shariff 🎀📚 The epitome of a sunshine character. A true angel. I adored every aspect of character. She is so incredibly kind, caring, loving and loyal. Her arc and journey is one I hold dear and was such a joy to read.
Matt “Freddy” Fredderic 🏒🦋 The main thing to cross my mind when it comes to Matty and the only note I wrote from him for this review: TOO PRECIOUS FOR WORDS. This man, honestly. I just pray there are real men in the world that exist that have even a fraction of Matt’s character.
There two together are magic. A beautiful foundation built as friends that bloomed into a gorgeous romance. This slow burn was so well done as I loved reading about them as just friends as well as a couple. Multiple time found myself hugging my kindle and smiling like crazy over how freaking adorable these two are together.
✨I think loving you would be the greatest thing in my life.✨
I adore the romance in Unloved, but this story was also more than that for me. Though our circumstances vastly different, the connection I felt to both Ro and Freddy hit me so deep that my tears freely flowing on multiple occasions. I love the escapism I get with books, but feeling seen, finding pieces of yourself in characters is what I truly love about reading. The connection I had with Ro and Freddy made me feel pieces of myself mending, knowing I wasn’t alone in these thoughts and feelings. I not only credit Peyton’s writing for that but also thank her.
✨Every word she says settles in my soul, building something new around the soft, damaged parts of my heart that have felt unlovable for too long.✨
I’d be remiss to mention the mental health rep in Unloved. As has come to be expected in Peyton’s writing, the MH rep was phenomenal.
As Unloved is part of an interconnected series, I loved seeing characters we know from new POVs, some new insight, and how that perspective can enhance my reread of Unsteady but also has me so eager for the next instalments int the Undone series. As with Unsteady, there are side characters, existing and introduced, that make such an impact, that I crave more from them. This, again ,is a testament to Peyton’s writing.
Two books in and this world just feels like a home I don’t want to leave; a warm hug that’s too comforting to be let go from. I can’t recommend this book and series enough.

Thank you so much, Peyton Corinne and Simon & Schuster UK for this ARC.

This book was beautiful. The themes of love and grief just go hand in hand and Corinne wrote both their stories with delicacy.
I got major Nate Scott x Haley James vibes from Matt (aka Freddy) x Ro, they were utterly adorable and their relationship held no judgement, no agendas.. it was pure, and their friendship meant everything to each other. They showed up and supported one another. I felt so bad for Matt, he was teased, and treated horribly by those he was meant to rely on and felt like he had no one to fall back on.
Rosalie was a delicate character to begin with and over time she grew a back bone, she stood up for herself, and for Matt.
While I am not usually a slow burn girlie, it works in this books favour. Ro x Matt needed that friendship first. In regards to spice (as I feel a lot readers need this), it wasn't OTT, it wasn't the main part of the story and I NEED MORE OF THIS. You see their chemistry build and I feel like there needs to be more of this in other books.
I feel like there's more to Toren Kane that meets the eye and I can't wait for his story. I need more details of his tattoos!
And Bennett!! I can kind of guess who his love interest will be. And helloo.... he has a service dog!?!
T R O P E S
- slow burn
- tutor / student
- friends to lovers
- no third act break up
- cutest epilogues!
- found family
- cute dates!
How this overlaps with Unsteady was done brilliantly, as I think we see a different perspective of Sadie x Rhys' relationship.
The found family was STRONG. While Ro is homesick for her parents, she found a family within Sadie and her brothers. Their bond made me shed a tear or two.

This new adult sports romance is just a little bit excellent. This standalone happens at the same time as last year's hit, 'Unsteady' and tells the story of Freddy and Ro.
Freddy is a bit of a goofball - his only talents are apparently playing hockey and in the sack. It’s first person dual point of view and Freddy's backstory unfolds slowly for us. He’s got ADHD, some learning challenges, arrested grief, a toxic relationship with his father and he is being low-level bullied by some of the tutors at college. That’s a lot for one young man to unpack.
Ro has as serious a set of challenges.. She’s been in a long-time first relationship which is pretty toxic for her and as a people pleaser, she hasn’t got the skills or the maturity to understand that she’s being played. Of course her boyfriend is also one of the young men bullying Freddy. When Ro starts tutoring Freddy there’s lots of stopping and starting but these two very quickly form a supportive bond and look out for each other in a way that neither of them has really experienced before. This is so wonderful to read. Freddie is a himbo, good with his body but with no confidence outside of that. Ro isn’t able to stand up for herself but can step in and advocate for Freddy in a really admirable way. There's lots of character growth for both of them as they learn to stand up for themselves. I loved it 💖
It’s a slow burn which is important as Ro is with her boyfriend on and off for more than half of the novel and Freddy is a player. They roll from respect to admiration to love before they actually get together. Of course, when they do, it’s 🌶🌶, funny, energetic and really really lovely. Freddy looks after Ro and it’s delightful. Peyton Corinne is flexing her muscles as a writer and even with some repetition this is such a great read. If you loved 'Unsteady' this will be a treat. It balances the angst of their circumstances and the warmth between them. Loved loved loved it!
Thank you Peyton Corinne, Simon & Schuster UK and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

4.5, Peyton Corrine ma’am why must you always make me cry?? This is another hit from college romance author Peyton Corrine. She does a wonderful job of discussing mental health representation in a beautiful way whilst curating a couple that many seem like an unlikely pair at first but ones that you will be rooting for by the end!

I make a vow then to protect her, the pretty girl with butterflies in her messy curls, even if she'll never really be mine.”
so so cute
loved the first one and this was as good if not even more

4.5! i loved this one so so much, even more than the first ! the characters and the tropes and everything was just so perfect and heart warming !!

I loved this book, so much! It was an emotional rollercoaster, and one I definitely was not prepared for, but so grateful I went on. The characters are so real and relatable, and it was all around perfect.

Really enjoyed this one. Loved Ro and Matt’s friends to lovers journey and how much they were there for each other. I think I liked the first one more but I am excited to read more of this series.

4.5 ⭐️
this book was so so tender and soft, I loved matty and ro so much, each of them had their own struggles and I think those were written so perfectly, their slowburn friends-to-lovers development was absolutely everything to me!!
through this whole book I just wanted to wrap matty in a big hug and not let go, that professor deserved jail and I really hope she got there one way or another for what she did to him, but his grief, his self-loathing, was so so painful to read when you can see how GOOD he is! and ro, I felt so sorry for how she was treated, but I'm so happy with how she grew to love herself and accept everything she is!
I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did, but some of the themes felt so close to home and the characters warmed my heart in the best way possible!
thank you to Simon & Schuster UK, Peyton Corinne and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review!

I found this one a tricky beast, and I think in the end it just wasn't for me, which is fair enough. It's not so much the writing, nor the world of Waterfell University, and ultimately I was engaged enough to finish the book and be intrigued by the potential for some of the other characters' outings. But I had issues with the pacing, with the story getting very bogged down in places, and the characterisation was a bit odd - the subject matter the characters were dealing with was complex and required a bit more depth than the archetypes were able to sustain, I think. I felt like I'd read a lot of the scenarios before elsewhere, and that there wasn't necessarily anything new here - not always a problem, and god knows I've happily hoovered up enough hockey romances that I think in tropes and archetypes half the time, but generally I'm hopeful for something a little different in the execution. It wasn't badly done here, it was fine, but I was left wanting more. I also found the author's propensity to add in every. Single. Song the characters were listening to weirdly intrusive - like, I love a playlist in a book, and the odd namecheck to a song or author in key moments. But this got to the point where it was too much, and I went past annoyance and started to find it funny.
I'd also say this was in a bit of a weird position where it overlaps the previous book in the series so much that book 1 is almost required reading - it's not that it was ever going to be a 100% standalone story, but usually in a series it's possible to jump in and any key facts are introduced as and when needed. So you miss out on some context, but it's not a case of not being able to follow the continuity of the book itself. Here, though, there were a couple of things (particularly in the first half) that had zero context or introduction, so I can only assume they happened in the previous book and there was an assumption that 100% of readers would have read and retained that info prior to coming to this one. That wasn't the case for me, so it was a bit jarring.
All this could be read as really negative, but ultimately this was not a terrible book, and I'm sure its intended audience - I guess readers of book 1 with an enjoyment of music of a certain type - will enjoy it! It just really wasn't for me, and hopefully the specifics will help others to decide if it's for them or not.
2.5 stars (rounded up)

Deeply emotional and real. This book hooked me from page one and I finished it in record time...I just could not put it down.
You can definitely feel the very same emotional depth you got from Unsteady, so prepare your tissues and brace yourself.
My heart broke for Ro and Matt. Both struggling with recognizing their self-worth and willing to tolerate anything - even abuse - for even the tiniest bit of affection because, for the longest time, they were made to feel like they were unlovable. I cheered for them when they started to become friends and then more, because they finally started to help each other see that they were worthy of love for who they actually were, and did not need to change themselves or hide their struggles, their pain, their quirks or dull their entire personality.
I also loved how Ro and Matt's story was deeply intertwined with Unsteady...but still its own thing.
Ro and Matt are possibly the softest couple in the history of romance. The mutual pining was chef's kiss and the slow burn was sooo worth it!
Recommended to anyone looking for an emotional, friends to lovers, slow burn, angsty romance.

CAN I GIVE THIS ONE 10STARS OUT OF 5!
Officially obsessed with all thing Peyton Corinne - I will read everything she writes forever.
Unloved is almost an intertwined story with Unsteady I hope someone does a reading guide for a tandem read as so much of the story overlaps in key parts of each story.
I will be buying this one in every edition and screaming from the rooftops for everyone to READ THIS BOOK!

So much of the beginning of this book made me uncomfortable. I hated seeing Ro so little and insecure because of Troy. I hated Matt’s constant feeling of being unworthy of love and talking himself down because that’s all people have shown him. It’s realistic because it takes time to leave abuse, but it’s also infuriating. I had to push through the first third of the book because of this. If anything it’s a testimony to Peyton’s writing, but it doesn’t make it easier to read.
After that first struggle, I just loved it. Ro and Matt growing their relationship, helping each other see their worth, and how they deserve to be loved. Them falling for one another was so perfectly written.

OMG PEYTON. You didn’t have to go that HARD! I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN. You made me cry UGLY UGLY TEARS. And I’m not sorry about it one bit. I am OBSESSED with Freddy and Ro. #CoupleGoals. All the love for them and to them.
I read Unsteady and then immediately found Unloced on NetGalley. I was excited to get a chance to ARC read this one and I am soooo freaking glad. This is Freddy and Ro’s story. And it’s such a special story. There is just so much tenderness, love and emotion in this one. I cannot fault her at all in Freddy’s entire character arc throughout the book. It’s honestly hard to put into words how much I loved this one.
Freddy has to be the most emotionally intelligent hero I’ve read. And for someone who’s a college student. The entire arc his character goes through is so beautiful to read and I think I looked forward to his chapters/POV the most. I loved his insights and introspection. I loved the tenderness and love and loyalty he showed Ro throughout the book.
Ro is a girl after my own heart. I WAS that girl in high school. She has to be the most selfless and sweetest girl. Her confidence is in the toilet. I loved seeing her come into her own, with encouragement, friendship and love from Freddy helping her to see just how amazing she is. And how she in turn helped Freddy see that he was worthy and deserving of good things. The two of them had such a wonderful relationship develop from student x tutor to genuine friendship to love.
I am loving this series SO MUCH and I can’t wait for book 3 to come out. I’m obsessed with Peyton Corinne and will read anything she writes. I am a stan for life.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
All you need to know is that its about two people who find eachother when they need it the most and how a beautiful friendship turns into love. The following part will have spoilers.
Matt/ Freddy, one of the few vulenerable MMC i have read about, not a lot of them out there. Grief comes at waves and it is the living who have to suffer the consequences of death, our lives change and we must find a way to navigate trought life without that person. I loved Matt.
Ro is sweet and endearing. Abuse is not only physical and it's hard and you feel confused and more so when that person is exploiting your insecurities. It was beautifully realistic how Ro realized the moment she needed to get out. Its not easy to realize you live in that sitution and to some people it sadly takes a while.
Both: I am not a friends to lovers enthusiast yet i loved it this time. I don't know how to explain it, it was slow and beautiful and gave me all the fuzzy feelings.
Other things i loved: Ro's parents, Matt and Archer, the family we make along the way.
Cons: it dragged a bit at times, the importance of the first meeting while i get it, it didnt bring anything to the table, the lack of discussion about teacher/student grooming, not even a mention about reporting it.

I loved this book, I cannot wait to get a physical copy when it is released!
My favourite part of this book that separated it from other hockey romances in the past is the emotional depth in the characters which really made it so much better

Another emotional rollercoaster by Peyton Corrine (the author of unsteady). There's something so comforting when seeing authors write about mental health and learning disabilities. Reads easy like her previous book unsteady.
