Erin Green's writing in ‘Reunited at the Lakeside Cottage' is cozy and funny. I felt immersed in English slang, foods, and businesses. These six adults being stuck in the same rental home for the holidays hints at romance, adventure, and sweet memories to come. I did not finish because I wasn't as engaged by the story and curse words started to show up. I recommend this to contemporary women's fiction readers.
Special thanks to the Publisher, Headline, and Net Galley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
When sisters Kate and Selena, their friend Paisley, and three men find themselves double-booked at a lakeside cottage, sparks fly and old tensions resurface. Told from the perspectives of the three women, the narrative explores friendship, self-discovery, and fresh starts in a heartwarming, feel-good manner. While some elements felt unrealistic, the pacing kept the story engaging overall. Green skillfully weaves humor and romance, particularly in Paisley and Joseph’s unresolved history and Kate’s struggle to maintain control. The story follows the trio of friends on their week-long holiday, only to encounter one’s ex-husband and his two friends. Perfect for readers who enjoy tales of unexpected connections and cozy holiday vibes!
I really enjoyed this book and would love to stay at this cottage.
The characters were very well written and each one had their own quirks, the setting is lovely and the story unfolds beautifully with a few twists and turns along the way
I love this series and everything else by this author but this book didn’t hit the spot for me. I think it was partly the (younger than me) age of the characters and the particular situation, which I struggled to believe in the authenticity of. I’m sure most readers will love it, particularly the beautiful descriptions of the Lakes setting. I’m looking forward to the next book from this writer.
I just loved this book so much that I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. I just loved the characters in this book and the relationships they had with each other and how they were there for each other no matter what happened. It was heartwarming and heartbreaking in parts but I just really loved it.
I would highly recommend reading this book if you love a book about love that is heartwarming and heartbreaking with really good characters and relationships.
I would like to thank Headline Review and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.
To.be honest this would have sold me on the book:
If you love Lucy Diamond, Phillipa Ashley, Sue Moorcroft and Holly Martin, you'll LOVE Erin Green's novels of love, life, hope and healing.
The fact it was by one of faves Erin sealed the deal.
And once again she pulls it off.
She has her series. Her character and her genre down to a fine art.
I always love getting to know her world of writing and cast of characters and their stories.
This was no different. But I was alot more het up by this one is it was alot more complicated for this group.
A winner once again.
And if you haven't read the others in the series get on it!
I didn't realize this was part of a series when I jumped into this, and while it was still a cute story I would say read the others. I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I could have been but I still enjoyed it.
A very good story but it felt very close to home for me, and I found myself not enjoying the book towards the end, particularly Selena. I have been in Paisley’s position and I was so angry for her. I get it. Still, a well written book, interesting character arcs and some lovely descriptions of beautiful countryside.
A sweet story told by different characters which made it very different and unusual. This story just flowed a long and although at times I got bogged down by the changeable characters in every chapter it was still a good read. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I loved being back at lakeside cottage.
It was interesting to see how the two groups staying at the cottage got along. Paisley and Joseph previously in a relationship, now they tried to put their past behind and be friendly so that Paisley’s friend Selena can celebrate her birthday without issues.
I loved the interactions between Affie and Carlos.
The twist in the story, was one I didn’t see coming, and the way everyone decided how to take that bombshell and deal with it.
I highly recommend this book
It was great to be back at the lakeside cottage again.
This was another great read in the series. What a mix up for poor Josie to sort out, but it was meant to be.
I liked the connection between the two groups, it was interesting watching Paisley and Joseph navigate their past and try and be friends in order for Selena to celebrate her birthday.
I enjoyed the playfulness of Affie and Carlos and that chocolate making scene really made me laugh.
I certainly didn’t see the twist that was coming, I literally had to pick my chin up off the floor. How everyone dealt with the information was interesting and I liked that it wasn’t instantly sorted. (Trying not to give any spoilers)
A great read, and I’m truly interested in who the next guests are going to be at the lakeside cottage.
A really wonderful book. Told from several different voices, it truly gives you different perspectives. I love the way it includes friendship, romance, girl code and a hint towards the need to avoid judging at face value. Fun, easy to read, but still makes you think.
I absolutely loved this story. The characters were great and very funny at times and was extremely poignant as secrets unfolded. A great story of love and most of all the power of forgiveness. A must read.
A lovely story but I did not like how the story was told by different people. You had to concentrate rather than just sink into the book. You are back at the lakeside cottage with a double booking. All 6 characters were amazing and you followed their week. Lots of twists and some deep secrets came out and a very neat ending .
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book!!
What a great book!! It had me hooked from page one! I couldn’t put this down. I finished it in one sitting. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. This was a first for me by this author but it will not be my last!!
Such a great book! I love the sisterhood aspect and the twist of the boys being added in makes it all the more sweet and interesting to read and enjoy!
This was a sweet read. Some parts were eye-roll worthy but I enjoyed the different perspectives and Paisley was my favorite of the three ladies. The humor, friendship, self discovery, and romance were all enjoyable.
The story follows three friends who rent a week long holiday stay and end up double booked with one's ex-husband and two friends. Overall, I enjoyed the story and shitting between the three females' perspectives. I found parts highly unrealistic, but it was well paced for the most part and kept my attention.
This one was such a cozy, heartwarming holiday read. Perfect timing as we are coming into the holidays. It was set during the reflective days between Christmas and New Year. When sisters Kate and Selena, their friend Paisley, and three men end up double-booked at a lakeside cottage, sparks and old tensions fly. Green deftly balances humor and romance, especially with Paisley and Joseph’s unresolved history and Kate’s need to keep things in control. The story explores friendship, self-discovery, and new beginnings in a charming, feel-good way. Perfect for fans of unexpected connections and holiday vibes!
