I definitely thought this would be more of Shy's insights into cats and their behaviour, given her career, but instead it's actually a guide book on running a cat-sitting business. I still found it interesting and I appreciated how she didn't over explain or try to extend her page count. All her advice is clearly stated and her reasoning behind it, alongside fun stories and anecdotes. The layout was clean, with clear photos and a logical flow. Maybe some clarity on the cover for what the book is about, would help this find its right audience.
This is a concise HOW TO Be A Cat Sitter book..
It covers every detail you could possibly think of when taking on a job as a professional cat sitter. Like what, you may ask? Cat behavior, owner behavior, the need for an agreement before you begin, a list of cat needs , an idea to determine a fee to charge for your services, how to ( and when to ) get paid.
What to do if you are bit or scratched. And more. It is a terrific book for someone considering this type of work. I was not. I thought it would be loaded with tips for living with cats.
Still, I read the whole thing. It is that good. Highly recommend.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me this ARC.
