With lots of twists and turns this one will keep you guessing all the way through!
Podcasters, Christy and Conner, with the rest of their team, set out to investigate a potential old case where a young child was left alone on the beach. We delve into this child’s life, from a baby through to present day, discovering many secrets along the way.
I found the format a little different with this book, following the script at times for the podcast, but I liked this and found it easy to follow the different characters and what they were thinking and feeling as we moved through the book.
I must say I did feel it was a bit draw out and could have been quite a bit shorter. The characters develop throughout the book, but I did find some of them I just didn’t care that much for.
The different scenery was great and I could imagine being in all the different places they visited.
All in all a good read. 3.5 stars

yes yes yes! i cant believe how lucky and excited i was to be back with the Hindsight team. there has only been on book from Christy and the team before now but i still felt like i was ten books in with how proper in love i was with her and the team. the last book had me gripped and refusing to put down the book for long before i needed more.
Susan Lewis is a top top top author. she has honed her writing to perfection if you ask me. there is just a comfort when one of her books come out, knowing its going to be one of your current best. knowing your going to have talent throughout all the pages. you dont need to question these books. you just know they are going to excel.
for a first in the series the last book had me more excited for a new series than i have over any ive started before.
this book was just as good.
this book and podcast follows Sadie. Sadie has always felt something wrong with her home life. she was bought up by her two aunts after her parents died...didnt they...arent they? but after delving into some old stories Sadie starts to question everything. even if her aunts are even her aunts.
but her aunts wont answer the questions. so Christy gets on the task as chasing down leads and doing what her and her team do best to discover what really happened and who Sadie is, or isnt.
the way Christy and her team navigate these cases is just as wonderful as Susans writing of them. i feel truly immersed in these books and cant wait for the next. i also love how we get to know Christy and her team so i am just in invested as there personal and character build as i am the main investigation.
and in just two books to this series its already steaming up there to be on of my faves and that saying something because im a big party pooping cynic! and im hoping somehow Susan managed to bring them back for more.

This was by no means a bad book, I just found it languished on the middle. It could have done with being shorter and more to the point. I found myself getting a bit lost and not really caring about the characters. Despite the length of the book, the ending felt very rushed and I’ve finished with a sense of disappointment and the feeling that I don’t really know why anything happened.

This gripping follow-up to Nothing to See Here continues the journey of Christy and Connor’s true-crime podcast, Hindsight. While spending Christmas in Guernsey with her family, Christy is approached by Sophie, a friend of Anna’s, who seeks help uncovering a long-buried mystery. After finding a story written by her late aunt, Sophie learns that she was discovered as a two-year-old, abandoned on a beach. Determined to uncover the truth about her past, she turns to Christy for answers.
Susan Lewis masterfully weaves suspense, emotional depth, and social commentary, particularly on the realities of human trafficking and how first impressions can be deceiving. While the main storyline is compelling, the subplot involving Christy’s digital stalker feels underdeveloped, hinting at a future continuation. Fans of the Hindsight team will enjoy reconnecting with familiar characters in this unputdownable read, and anticipation remains high for the next installment.

Brilliant from the beginning.
Excellent writing, good characters.
Can't wait for more.
As usual it won't let you down.

Join Sadie on her quest to find her true family’ having been brought up by two women purporting to be her aunts. In seeking the truth enter a greater world of uncertainty, confusion and heartache leading Sadie on a path of self destruction. Enlisting the help of the pod cast agency Hindsight headed up by Cristy and Connor to trace her parents the roller coaster ride starts . There are several side shoots in this book widening out the background of various recurring characters

You will be sucked into this book from the start....
Sadie was raised by two aunts and never knew her parents. However, she believe she was stolen, and is starting to find evidence to support this in her aunts' things. The story comes to Cristy Ward, podcast host, for her next true-crime investigation. The aunt claims it’s all a fantasy. Who should you believe?
Cristy we met in 'Nothing to See Here' and it also picks up on her story to give you a double thread to the story.
If you enjoyed 'Nothing to See Here' you will enjoy this latest book.

I love Susan Lewis and I loved the 'Hindsight' team from a previous book #NothingToSeeHere and so was thrilled to see them back. Once again I enjoyed the alternative investigation provided by their podcast, the characters and Christy's crazy personal life. I didn't enjoy this particular case as much, despite a brilliant start and concept. I wanted more context to the sisters and Sadie's upbringing ie the good before the craziness. I guess I also read into things that weren't there or didn't transpire such as repeated mention of a floral scent and Janina's body never being found. All minor though because I really did enjoy it hence the five stars.

Don't Believe A Word by Susan Lewis is the new thriller that centres on protagonists Christy and Connor's fictional crime podcast Hindsight. The duo are chasing the truth behind whether Sadie's two aunts who raised her are really her family. With her past shrouded in mystery she's not convinced that what she knows about her parents is true, and feeling betrayed by those she loves who raised her she's determined to discover who her parents really are.
But with her aunt refusing to talk to her or to Christy, it's up to the team to chase down leads and unearth what really happened all those years ago. And when it's clear that some people would rather leave the past hidden, the danger of pursuing the truth becomes apparent. Will Christy and Connor finally get to the truth for Sadie, or are they following leads that will lead to nowhere?
While the premise of the book drew me in, I was not a fan of the podcast type format and the story felt like it could have been more succinct. I enjoyed the mystery element, but too many story pieces that didn't seem relevant to the main one seemed to dilute the plot and make the book longer than it needed to have been.

Don't Believe A Word by Susan Lewis
Another great title by Susan Lewis , she writes in a way that really draws you into the plot and the characters within it. She is the best for that.
It had so many emotions attached within the book with lots of twists you don't see coming
It was a brilliant thriller and a fab read just what you've come to expect by the author.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for my copy of Don't Believe A Word by Susan Lewis.
Sadie has been brought up by her two aunts after the death of her parents. But now she's adult somethings don't add up.
Contacting podcast host Cristy Ward, she puts her case, and Cristy agrees to take it.
There are a couple of things in this book that I didn't like but I cannot say what they are without spoilers.
You may not feel the same, and it is a good book overall, with twists aplenty.
The ending was not the one I was expecting.

Secrets and Lies..
Cristy Ward, podcast host, has discovered another story for her podcast - gripped by a story confided by Sadie, she knows that she cannot pass up the opportunity to record her next true crime investigation podcast. As things begin to unfold, one of the main parties insists that the story is nothing but a pack of lies. Soon, as lies and secrets unfold, the situation may well become more dangerous than they ever anticipated. Well written, engaging and immersive this is another compelling entry to this series.

Another great thriller from this author. It was great to catch up with Cristy and her team. This is such a clever way to solve the crime using the podcast to gradually let the story unfold. The plot involves many twists and turns, and 'did she fall or was she pushed' is one of the questions the team drips to the podcast listeners.
An adopted niece, two strange aunts and a fortune to be had.
Amidst all of this, the author weaves a little romance and the delightful character Rosie is also featured.
Brilliant storytelling.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC

This is the second book with Cristy Ward. I did not read the first book. It's not a real problem. At least I did not have the idea I missed something.
This is an easy written podcast thriller. This was my third podcast thriller and I'm beginning to love it. I love the way the podcast reveals the story throughout the book.
The story has a lot of twists and turn so you want to keep reading. It also teaches you that things are not always as it seems and that thing can be very different than you first thought. There are some disturbing things and it keeps you on your toes. The characters are well thought of and very interesting.
There some things a little too much because in my opinion is was a bit rushed and did not really complimented the story, therefore not 4 stars but 3,5.
Still a great read an I had a great time reading it.

Very well written new crime podcast thriller from Susan Lewis.
This is the second book around Cristy Ward who has started hosting crime podcast's with her work partner Connor, based in Bristol. The work and building of a podcast is fascinating, with the story unfolding and evolving as you read, with some brilliant twists and unexpected turns.
Sadie wants to find out where she is really and who were her parents after being brought up by her two wealthy aunts in Guernsey. There seems to be no trace of who they could be, although she has found some journals that are starting to give some clues.
This is a great read, the perfect holiday book, thoroughly enjoyable even when a little tense in places. Intelligent well thought out, this tale is enticing and absorbing! Loved it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the amazing early read.

Susan Lewis delivers another gripping psychological thriller with Don’t Believe a Word, a compelling blend of mystery, suspense, and true-crime intrigue. The book revisits investigative podcaster Cristy Ward and her team, first introduced in Nothing to See Here, as they take on a case that is as shocking as it is deeply emotional.
Sadie has always sensed that something about her past was wrong. Raised by two aunts, she never knew her parents and is convinced she was stolen as a child. When her story catches the attention of Cristy, it becomes the centrepiece of her latest investigation. But as the podcast uncovers unsettling truths, the mystery of Sadie’s past spirals into something far more sinister. Her surviving aunt insists it is all fantasy, but the evidence tells a different story—one that involves human trafficking, deception, and danger at every turn.
Lewis expertly crafts a tense and emotionally charged narrative, packed with twists, shocking revelations, and moral dilemmas. The podcast format adds a modern and immersive touch, making readers feel as if they are uncovering the truth alongside Cristy and her team. Fans of Nothing to See Here will enjoy reconnecting with familiar characters and locations, while new readers will be drawn into the dark secrets at the heart of this case.
A thrilling and thought-provoking read, Don’t Believe a Word keeps you guessing until the final page. Perfect for fans of psychological suspense and true crime-inspired fiction.

This is the second book in the series featuring the fictional podcast Hindsight and revisits the characters from the previous book, mainly the podcasters and their team. Having not read the first book I was initially unsure if I would need to before understanding this one but I was pleasantly surprised that I could catch up with the useful info in this book to summarise the first.
The podcast was an interesting way to relate the story which is the search for answers for a young woman who believes her aunts are in fact two women who have kept her from her mother and the ramifications of this in years to come. The disturbing elements of this are the mental health issues suffered especially by one of the elderly sisters as the investigation continues. The story is well written and entertaining and reading/listening to it as a podcast and the lives of those involved while making it was a good one.
I will be looking to go back and read book 1 now to understand the background of the characters.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A podcast investigates a baby found on the beach many years ago.
This was gripping, and very interesting, I know that sounds a very boring thing to say but this book has good information in amongst the drama playing out.
An excellent read and surely a brilliant gift for anyone that enjoys mysteries in a beautiful setting.

Such a good read that had me hooked from the very start and took me on an emotional roller coaster. I loved it and I didn't want it to end.

I enjoy this, I had so many emotions while reading it
It was a good thriller with some amazing twists I didn’t see coming
Loved the characters so well written.
I like the difference to what I normally read so that was great,
