A bit of a slow burner for me.
Interesting characters but the storyline was a little confusing for me.
Susan Lewis is a very talented author but i cannot say this was my favourite.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

I was super excited to receive this book and it’ didn’t disappoint! Susan is one of my favourite authors and you just know she will always deliver a rollercoaster of emotions in her books. Couldn't put it down and when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it! This book pulled on my heartstrings for lots of reasons and I was totally torn with Sadie! This book had it all, romance, crime, mystery and made me want to visit Guernsey! I really bought into all the characters and felt so much emotion for them. Loved the familiar characters , however this could be read as a stand alone book. I’m now gutted I’ve finished and can’t wait for the next book Susan!

I really loved the previous book featuring Cristy and Connor and although the podcast storyline of this wasn’t as sensationalistic as the previous it was certainly intriguing with a young woman’s need to discover her secret past. I found I engaged with this quickly and although this is more of a slow burn mystery it certainly kept my attention for quite some time however after a while I did feel like the story was moving forward in an emotional sense but was slow to progress in terms of revelations for a while which is understandable in that in an investigation does constantly progress but I wasn’t as engaged. Mia was a very challenging character in this and clearly had many issues and I found it difficult that people didn’t try to get professional help for her as the impact the investigation had on her (irrespective of the things she had done in the past) clearly sent her spiralling and that made for difficult reading. Overall this is a tragic story with many different aspects which were well explored, it’s not a pacy thriller but it’s quite engaging with some fascinating characters. 7/10

Quite a confusing book, leaving me with so many questions as there were lots of twists and turns, people with weird interactions – the dynamics feeling off sometimes, I don't know...
First and foremost, one of the sisters seems a bit confused from time to time at the beginning of the book, but people aren't sure if this is her being eccentric or a clever way of changing the subject. However, when she becomes more irrational (or manipulative) and even appears suicidal she is 'on some other planet ', or 'wasn't flying with many feathers in her wings', just to quote a few. This I absolutely don't appreciate for it seems Connor and Cristy are being unnecessarily insensitive, and making light or even fun of the situation.
Then there is Cristy with her love-life and three men circling around her which wasn't a pleasant or simple background to the main story. One of those men being David who might be a financial consultant or something, and who seems to be on the straight and narrow, yet somehow gets to pull quite a lot of strings which looked a bit dodgy.
I am not enjoying writing a review like this, rating a book with only two stars, but this story left me unconvinced and even a bit frustrated.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

Sadie’s childhood has always been shrouded in mystery. But there are three things she knows. She was raised by two aunts. She never knew her parents. She is convinced she was stolen. Cristy Ward, podcast host, is gripped by Sadie’s story. It’s perfect for her next true crime investigation. Yet Sadie's aunt claims it’s all a fantasy. As the evidence begins to stack up, and the lies fall apart, they all could be in a lot more danger than they thought…. Good book! Wow this book had some shocking revelations! It also had great suspense, murder, mystery, dark family secrets, intriguing, a shocking ending and a few crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Susan Lewis has an amazing knack for weaving a beautiful and convoluted drama! I absolutely loved this heartfelt and mysterious read. Go and grab it!
