I liked the story and Kristys character. The twist at the end was good and unexpected. This one took me a while to get into and the transcript format was a bit strange until it made sense at the end. I also really really disliked Dougies Character and I don’t really understand why she would only be revealed as a woman at the end.

Just wow! Another fantastic read from Shannon Hollinger! This was definitely dark and twisty. Excellent characters that kept me flipping pages long past my bedtime. Wow!! This book truly had me in a chokehold from start to finish. Every time I thought I knew where it was headed, another twist came along and proved me wrong.

Alice really tugged at my mama heart too and I just couldn't put the book down because I needed to make sure she was okay.

This is an interesting story about a woman escaping physical and mental abuse, but also hiding her child. This was a quick, good read. 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️

Charlotte is escaping from physical and mental abuse but she has secrets The biggest of which is she has a child. She takes a job in a hotel that is due to open shortly and keeps the child hidden in her room. Because of her past she has trust issues. She is barely coping with keeping her secret while trying to earn money but then into the mix is thrown a tornado and it looks like they will have to evacuate the hotel. It is an edge-of-seat novel that keeps you guessing until the very end.

I enjoyed the intensity of this book throughout! If you're a fan of locked room mysteries, you will enjoy! Also loved the final twist at the end.

She works as a cleaner in a hotel for board and food but she has a secret. In her room she is hiding her 3 year old daughter and no one can find out. When a massive storm hits we discover so much more than you could ever imagine. I fully immersed myself in this book as I felt the creepy vibes building giving me goosebumps. The twists were so hard I got whiplash.

You get a job at a new resort in the Florida Keys. It’s perfect because you are broke and this pays and offers room and board. This is Charlotte’s new start but she has a secret. A little girl that no one must know about or she’ll lose her job. Charlotte is a good woman with a terrible background. We learn a little about the background in flashbacks (trigger warning for abuse). As a hurricane approaches the Keys the hotel staff must prepare for it and then leave but Charlotte does not know how she will get her little girl off the island.

The first part of the book is good but the second half flys by! The danger of the storm mixed with dead bodies and a mother’s protective instinct makes for a thrilling story. The author throws out a few red herrings to keep the reader guessing but I’ll admit I did not see the ending coming!

This novel kept me engrossed most of my Sunday afternoon. Thankful my roast was in the crock-pot, because I was turning the pages to find out what was next. How many secrets are kept and broken will make your head spin.

Charlotte is our protagonist and she shows up to be a maid on a secluded island. She sneaks in a little girl Alice. No one knows about the little girl hiding in the attic. Charlottes’ shifts are long and she is trying to feed Alice and keep her secret.

The hotel’s grand opening is in a little over a week, but a storm is brewing in more ways then one. Charlotte is keeping more secrets as well as other staff members. As the storm is heating up everyone is ordered off the island?

This novel is MIND BLOWING, SUSPENSEFUL and one every Thriller Lover should read. Thank you to Bookouture and my colleagues at Thriller Book Lovers, The Pulse as this is one to pick up in the new year!

I love this non-stop thriller and could not put it down. Charlotte has a secret and nobody can find out about it. Her name is Alice and she is three years old. They are on the run and in a very dangerous situation. Charlotte takes a job in a hotel that is set to open soon as a housekeeper. She knows that if she can keep Alice hidden away in her room that everything will be ok and it’s only a temporary situation for now. A terrible hurricane has hit the hotel and they are all stranded together and now Alice has turned up missing. Does somebody know who they are? Who has taken her?

3,5 stars rounded up to 4. I have read quite a few books by this author and have enjoyed them all. I like the writing style and the way she can expand on characters so I feel like I know them. This book has Charlotte and little Alice trying to disappear. Charlotte takes a job at a new resort that isn't open yet as a housekeeper. Alice, who is 3, stays in the room while Charlotte works. We, at this point, don't know who they are running from or why it's so important for Alice to stay hidden. We meet the rest of the employees who have begun work to get the resort ready. Then a hurricane strikes. I lived in Florida for a bit and went through a hurricane, and the author did a fantastic job of the atmosphere around the storm. So the storm strikes and it is a whopper of a storm. During this, Alice disappears from the rooom. Who took her and why? Everyone is a suspect. This was a very well written book with lots of action and suspense. I enjoyed it greatly and will read more from this author.

This book is insane.... in a good brilliant way..

I loved how I was emotional and rooting for Charlotte, how she is a strong woman despite what life throws at her and she tries to make life btter for her and her daughter.

Although slow at the start I was impressed with how the story unfolded. There are plenty of twists and drama to keep me on edge and and ending I didn't expect.

I found this book to have a very slow start and also very difficult to read at times.
Good descriptive characters but just not something i really wanted to read.
Some may find the storyline more enjoyable than i did.

This was a thrilling, addictive and fast- paced read with many heart-racing twists that kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat. I love it when a book surprises me, and this one did.

My favourite character was Charlotte I felt like throughout the book she never caught a break and felt sorry for her at times and I hoped things would get better for her.


I’d highly recommend this book it’s a pacy read with an explosive ending perfect for psychological thriller fanatics!

This book is slow to start but gradually picks up pace. There are a few twists and turns but I was disappointed by the ending.

“Her Hiding Place” by Shannon Hollinger, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! From the very first page, I was hooked. The suspense is absolutely gripping, and Hollinger does a fantastic job of keeping you guessing. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, a twist would come out of nowhere, and I'd be left reeling. The pacing is perfect—just when you think you can catch your breath, something happens that pulls you right back in.

The characters are well-developed and complex, especially the protagonist, who is so relatable and layered. I found myself truly invested in her journey and rooting for her even as the tension built to a boiling point.

What really stood out to me, though, was how unpredictable the plot was. I was never sure what was coming next, and that made the experience of reading this book so thrilling. If you love suspense and enjoy a story with plenty of twists and turns, I cannot recommend Her Hiding Place enough. It’s a wild ride from start to finish, and I couldn’t put it down!
