I found this book challenging to finish. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and really felt an apathy towards their circumstances. I have liked this author's work but this book missed the mark for me.

I finished the book but unfortunately had to give it 3 stars. i have always enjoyed Kerry Wilkinsons books but for some reason I couldn't connect or "like" the characters.

I really enjoyed this one. It centers on 3 families in a neighborhood, primarily focused on new arrival Heidi and current neighbors Willow and Dylan. It’s clear all of these characters have secrets and the book tells the events leading up to a block party with some chapters from after the party where the reader knows something bad happened.

I thought these characters were well developed and I understood why they did what they did even when they weren’t always good decisions. I thought the author handled parenting well and the dynamics between parents and children made sense. I was rooting for Dylan even though I wasn’t sure I was supposed to. I did figure out one of the twists early on but the rest of the story provided the necessary background info to make it make sense. The other big twist was a surprise and I thought it was handled well. I really liked the ending and felt that it tied everything up without explicitly closing all the loops.

Overall, this was a good read, much like the many other books I have read from this author. I’d recommend to those who enjoy domestic suspense. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book truly surprised me! I had never heard of it before but decided to give it a chance because the synopsis sounded intriguing, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. From the moment I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. It’s an engaging read with compelling characters. I really enjoyed the different points of view, which added depth and complemented the story beautifully. Even though I found some parts of the plot predictable, others still took me by surprise!
I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed reading this book. The author did an excellent job with the story and characters. The plot was so well done, especially the twists. I couldn't put it down, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I can't wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this book to the mystery and thriller readers.

This was a captivating domestic thriller. I really enjoyed the sketchy neighbors and all of their side stories. It seemed every household had a secret to hide. The flash forwards had me dying to read more to see what happened. The characters in this book were really well written. They actually felt like real people with real feelings and thoughts. The petty thoughts the characters would randomly have made the book seem very realistic. This book was heading toward a 4-5 star but the ending feels so unresolved. We had a couple little twists and learned a couple of secrets but barely. We didn’t get the full look at what’s behind the closed doors and have no idea the endings for our characters. Overall a good read.

I liked the plot twists, however some were quite predictable. Additionally, the characters were a bit flat for me, but it's an interesting read nonetheless

This book was full of so many twists and turns. I loved the multiple perspectives and how all of them intersected with one another. I also really enjoyed how we started this story not fully knowing what exactly happened and then the story was slowly unfolded for the reader. This was a great thriller with so many secrets with each character.

I love this author but unfortunately it didnt hit the mark for me . What I didnt enjoy was the ending and it dragged on in certain places. I liked it but I couldnt say I loved it.

After having read four of her previous books I was excited to read this one. The story was good until the ending it left me feeling that there should have been more. I even went back a few pages to see if I had missed something. For me it left too many unexplanied answers.

Heidi and Freddie are a newly married couple, easy to get on with but behind their front door lies a secret. Across the street, Willow grapples with a crumbling marriage and a defiant teenage daughter, while her husband’s nocturnal absences fuel her suspicions. Dylan, a single father next door has a tragic past, his wife was murdered and the case was never solved. Doubts and suspicions remain around him and whether he had any involvement.

The tension builds and when the neighbourhood get together for what appears to be an innocuous summer party the trouble really accelerates. There is police involvement leading to the arrest of one of the residents. With plenty of suspects we learn of the secrets each household hides.

This is a fast paced novel with plenty of interest, lots of good characters and intrigue.

This is a good read but in my opinion not as strong as many of this authors other books.

I do love this author. This is my 14th book I've read of hers. I love the cover and blurb of this book.
I did begin to enjoy this book once I got into it. I wasn't sure how I felt about the characters. I didn't have any favourite. I did try to guess what was happening but I was wrong everytime. I never saw that coming. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book was a bit slow for me but was an okay read. I usually love Wilkinsons books so that took me a bit by surprise.

Freddie and Heidi just moved to a new home. When a Heidi’s gets to the new house, she had to stay back to finish work, she finds her husband has a door locked, and finds it a bit odd. Heidi then makes it her mission to find out why the door is locked. What could Freddie be hiding?

Willow and Gage seem to be in a bit of a rut, and to top it off willow is finding herself often fighting with her daughter. Gage starts to seem a bit off, vanishing each night but not wanting Willow to know where he’s really going. Where is Gage sneaking off to in the middle of the night?

Dylan is a single dad whose wife was murdered. He’s still struggling with this and so desperately want to know who would do such a thing.

The whole street gets together for a party. But something that should be such a positive a fun thing, does not end up being that at all.
