Heidi and Freddie move to Huntingdon Grove. They find that neighbours keep secrets - big secrets, but so do they.
Like all of Kerry Wilkinson's books, I enjoyed this immensely. It was difficult at first to keep track of all the characters and their partners.
It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering who the shooter was at the street party, and it was quite a surprise when that person was revealed!
I recommend.
4/5 stars from me
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.
Freddie move to a new neighborhood but there is some sort of connection between some of these people. Heidi can’t figure out what is going on with her husband. Meanwhile, willow also cannot figure out what is going on with her husband. Everyone has secrets. Dylan can’t let go of his wife dying, but it is that connected to any of the other people? There is def a lot here and a lot of characters. Hard to keep everyone straight but it was good!
Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy of this book
Young married couple Heidi and Freddie just moved to Huntington Grove. All the neighbours see they are friendly and polite but why is one door in their house always locked?
Across the street, Willow tries not to argue with her teenage daughter – even as her marriage is falling apart. And where does her husband really go each night, leaving the bed beside her cold?
Feeling lonely, she always waves hello to single dad Dylan next door. His wife died in a tragic murder. The culprit was never found. It’s no surprise there are rumours he was involved…
On a beautiful sunny day, it’s time for the whole street to gather for a summer party. Everyone plasters on a fake smile. But soon the picnic tables will be overturned, sirens will blare – and one of the residents will be marched away in police handcuffs.
Everyone at the party will be questioned. But everyone will lie…And with every household hiding something, who has a secret big enough to kill for?
I enjoy books where everyone in the different houses has secrets to hide. It's always interesting to see the stories unravel. Well written !!
3.5 out of 5 ⭐️
Every home has secrets and some are a bit more sinister than the others. In this story though they all could compete to win the title of most sinister one!
I always enjoy reading books about the families living on a certain street and organising a street party. Often the family who just moved in are trying to get to now their neighbours and fitting in and it's a perfect opportunity for the readers to get acquainted with the other families too and of course the street party is the time and the place often all things are revealed.
I was deeply immersed in this book and my mouth fell open a couple of times.
You think you know the people living in the same house as you do. You think you know the people living next to you or across from you. It seems like you know nobody at all.
I totally enjoyed this book and I loved the author slipping in a lighter part describing the situation about Willow's parents.
I loved Orla and I felt for her.
A great book as per usual/ 5 stars
Thank you
So good!!! Wow!!! I kept reading and reading was so involved in this book and what was going on I couldn't put it down. Went not where I thoughtn it was going nice twist, Is there more coming hopefully...?
Thanks to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an early release of this book
Where to start? As i would expect from this fantastic author the storyline is right up my street.
So much is going on behind the closed doors in this street.
Each family is gradually introduced so i could quite easily visualize them.
Things build up to the day of the street party and then mayhem ensues.
I was kept guessing almost all the way through and even when i got the odd clue i certainly didn't get everything right.
Just loved this book but the ending left me speechless!!!
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Wow this is a great read. It all centres around an event around a street party but we don’t know what happened or who was involved but it is interwoven between the stories around all of the inhabitants on the street and the new residents who have just moved in. Every house seems to be keeping secrets and lies and any one of them could be involved. This book is hard to put down and is a rollercoaster ride to a conclusion that is perfecto a great read for thriller lovers and would make a great ITV drama!!
You do not know who to trust in this story. It starts out a little slow but gradually picks up pace. Plenty of suspense.
