I think this was a great debut but wish there were mentions about the childlessness/fertility issues innthe blurb. However it is mentioned at the start of the book. Overall I found the story to be quite interesting as I loved learning about Anna’s job and the rewilding project alongside the build up to the romance side of the plot with the Earl. I love a love triangle and although it isn’t marketed in that way/doesn’t take up most of the storyline I do like the fact that Anna got to have two love interests. She deserved that after what her ex did and I’m glad she got her HEA! The banter between Anna and Jamie was top tier, and it really showed Anna’s character development considering she’s a bit of a people pleaser so whenever she stood her ground with Jamie it was refreshing to see. Jamie’s chatter development was great to see too as he did start off as being quite standoffish and a grump! Loved all the side characters in this book as well, they made the storyline just as enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this book. I just couldn’t put this book down. I loved all the quirky characters as well as the adorable Hugo.
I would highly recommend reading this book as I found it as heartwarming and as heartbreaking in equal measure but with wonderful quirky characters.
I would like to thank Simon & Schuster UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.

A sparkling, fun-filled rom-com that had me hooked from page one 🐾💕. Wild About You brings together animals, romance, and plenty of laughs for a feel-good story that’s impossible to resist. Sophie Loxton has a fantastic knack for creating lovable characters and sizzling chemistry, all wrapped in hilarious, heartwarming chaos. I adored the pet-centric moments and the emotional journey beneath the humour. It’s playful, charming, and full of moments that will make you smile. Perfect for fans of romantic comedies with a quirky twist.

What a fab read! I was expecting a full on romance book and I got so much more! All the characters had a story and were complex. I teared up at some moments and found other moments making me smile and teared up. It was just a really good read. I wanted to find out what happened but also didn't want it to end. I loved how the MMC and the FMC grew as people and got to the point they did. Fave character was definitely Hugo!
Sophie wrote about some sensitive topics in here that alot of us have gone through or know someone who has, but she did it with compassion.

Trigger warning: Infertility/IVF
This lovely story was a gentle grumpy sunshine romance with a love triangle (or two!), and a slightly mischievous beagle called Hugo.
When Anna receives some bad news and her world falls apart she takes a job rewilding part of an estate in Northumberland where her best friend Fi works. Having taken a leap of faith to make the move up north from her life in London, she finds herself torn between Callum who manages the estate and makes a killer hot chocolate, and Jamie the grumpy owner of the estate who is completely infuriating.
From the start I was rooting for Jamie and Anna, the perfect grumpy sunshine combination. Throw in Hugo, the naughty beagle and I was sold! So much about Hugo reminded me about my childhood beagle.
I loved the sense of community on the estate, and the camaraderie between the staff. Tobias was a breath of fresh air when he arrived to work on the estate.
The subject of infertility runs through the entire story, with Anna initially struggling to separate her situation from her feelings of self-worth, but this was sensitively handled by the author.
Wild About You is the perfect antidote to a bad day, providing heart-warming and cosy moments that will have you smiling to yourself, and possibly craving one of Callum’s hot chocolates!

A great romance book that has everything; the grumpy guy, the chirpy girl, a dog and a perfect location. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone at Stonemore and found the secondary characters really well rounded and made you wish that you worked there with them. I do have to admit though, I think my favourite character was Hugo.

Oh how i adored this book and the setting, Anna has always been a yes girl and she has come to the stage where she realises she has to make changes and put herself first and so she accepts a job working at Stonemore Estate working on a rewilding project working for the brooding Jaimie. There she meets the lovely Callum and a romance blossoms but as time goes on she finds that Jaimie might not be the emotionally available man she had believed.
The characters and the setting was amazing and i really wanted Anna to have her happy ending.
The whole story was lovely and i devoured it in one sitting, Highly recommend!

Anna is known for her positive, can-do attitude - otherwise known as being a chronic people-pleaser. But when her life undergoes a major and painful upheaval, she discovers a powerful inclination towards saying 'no' and striving for a new direction, which leads her directly to an estate in Northumberland and a wealth of surprising possibilities.
I loved this, and read it in one sitting (which took me way past my bedtime). The plot zips along at an excellent pace, and is filled with distinctive, well-drawn characters both human and animal. Anna's narrative is strong, self-deprecating on occasion and overall very real: when she finds her voice and stands up for herself, she does it robustly and with humour even while doubting herself internally. Her relationships with both Callum and Jamie progress slowly, and we discover their traits through Anna's eyes: it's clear from quite early on where it's all going, but getting there involves some frustrations, a few mishaps, a sensitive exploration of themes around class and infertility, and a lot of interesting information around the topic of rewilding. A special mention also has to go to Anna's friendship with Fi, which is powerfully and mutually supportive and a delight to read about. Overall this is an original and heartwarming read full of romance, character development, yearning, and beagles - well worth staying up until 1am.

After splitting up with her fiancé & ready for a new start, Anna takes a job rewilding the glorious Stonemore Estate in Northumberland. But when she arrives the only thing driving Anna wild is her boss: the sexy, but emotionally unavailable Jamie, who is hellbent on making Anna’s job – and her life – as difficult as possible. On the plus side, there’s Callum, the gorgeous estate manager, her best friend Fi, and an enthusiastic beagle called Hugo. When romance with Callum blossoms, is Anna’s resolve to stop people-pleasing about to falter? And why can’t she stop thinking about Jamie? Can she truly put herself first and say yes to the thing which will make her happiest, falling truly madly wildly in love…?
This book came at the perfect time as I really needed something to put a smile on my face and wow, this book fulfilled this need 100%!
I absolutely adored the author’s writing style, it was so embracing, I instantly fell in love with Anna and her quest to escape the difficulties life had thrown her. Without giving anything away, there are issues discussed in this book which affect so many people but are often ignored, the author has truly excelled by the inclusion of these elements, in an appropriate and sensitive manner.
Did I know what was going to happen? Yes, but it didn’t matter, the journey to reach the conclusion was well worth it, leaving me with a smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling inside. And how can we not mention the star of the show in this title, Hugo the beagle! He was indeed an instant hit and yes, I agree totally with Anna, dogs are better than people!
If you want an easy going, fun loving read that is guaranteed to put a silly grin on your face whilst you read, then look no further, your search is over! A debut read that doesn’t disappoint!

I absolutely adored this beautifully written book. Read it every chance I had and enjoyed every page. I want to go to Stonemore and see the wildflowers and the of course, Hugo and the other beagles!

ARC review: 3.75/5
Your absolutely classic of grumpy x sunshine & enemies to lovers story. Although there were those tropes, I felt it was more that and setting (&background storyline) was quite unique. Secondary plot line of the relationships with the other characters was also well done, where
I warmed to the characters and definitely felt the relationship dynamics felt realistic. Thanks to the publisher and net galley for my ARC

This was such a gorgeous book that handled a lot of sensitive subjects with such care and ease. Anna's character development was beautifully done and it was great to see the journey that she went on throughout the story. The romance elements of it feel like they took a back seat and I wasn't as invested in that as I might have liked to be and it felt like the potential love triangle hinted at didn't really come to fruition.

In this heartwarming and emotionally rich novel, readers are swept away with Anna Whitlock—a woman who has always put others first, only to have her carefully constructed world come crashing down. After a devastating betrayal by her fiancé, Anna retreats to the idyllic and untamed Stonemore Estate in Northumberland, where she hopes to rebuild her life. What follows is a tender and at times humorous exploration of self-worth, healing, and unexpected love.
The setting is lush and vivid, a perfect backdrop for Anna’s journey from heartbreak to self-discovery. The cast of characters is delightfully engaging, from the charming and steady Callum to the brooding and complex Jamie. Even Hugo the beagle adds an irresistible dose of warmth. The tension between Anna’s growing bond with Callum and her undeniable attraction to Jamie keeps the pages turning.
What truly makes this novel stand out is Anna’s personal growth. Readers will root for her as she learns to stop people-pleasing and starts asking what she truly wants from life—and love.
This book is perfect for fans of romantic fiction with depth, set against a beautifully rendered rural landscape. It’s a reminder that sometimes the path to true happiness begins with saying no to others—and yes to yourself.

I devoured this book. This might be the best debut romance novel I've read yet.
There's no ridiculous miscommunication to break them apart; you can really understand why the characters have conflict, even after they fall in love. Infertility is not only a big character driver but also a sensitively incorporated plot point that I don't think could have been done better.
I loved the characters. I loved that there was no love triangle with Callum (who is a great character); the love triangle element comes from Anna's ex instead, but wraps up in one of the most satisfying scenes of the novel.
Jamie is fantastic, but without a doubt it's Hugo who steals the show. The rest of the cast are also multi-layered and fantastically written, from snobbish Tally to supportive Fi and even meddler Roshni.
An absolute 5 star read for me!

I enjoyed this book! The infertility angle gave it a different edge to your usual romance/chick lit books, but I truly appreciate the care in which the topic was handled. Even though the characters were lovable, the romance felt very rushed and you don't really get a chance to fall in love with the characters at the same time as them if that makes sense? Jamie, the MMC, also felt a bit too backgroundy in the beginning for me, so it would have been nice for him to have more of a story in the earlier chapters, but we got there in the end. All in all, a cosy read. Also, the cover art is gorge!

You will enjoy this book if you love a slow burn romance. Throw in a grumpy sunshine trope and I was sold. I will say however I didn’t enjoy the closed door element to the spice, I’m much more a door wide open kind of girl. It was a cute read

Wild About You

Anna Whitlock is done with being nice and saying yes. Running off to the glorious Stonemore Estate in the wilderness of Northumberland to heal her heartbreak. There’s plenty there to distract city girl Anna. There’s Callum the gorgeous estate manager but there’s also Jamie, Stonemore’s owner.
This was a fun escapist rom com read but also touches on real and relatable topics, including infertility which can be a trigger for some. This is a slower burn romance, set in a lush flowery setting in the UK and is definitely an enjoyable read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc!
This book was interesting enough to hold my attention while I was reading but I didn’t immediately want to keep picking it up!
Overall it was a good read

I really liked this book but I felt like it wasn’t for me. There was so many parts I liked but I felt like it was rushed in places. I would however recommend it to others, I’ve just read so many similar books it wasn’t anything new. I would read something else by this author though

This romantic story is the perfect holiday read. Anna leaves her city job after her heart is broken and seeks solace in a new role in the countryside. She doesn’t hit it off with her gruff and unfriendly new boss, but tries to rebuild her life. Uplifting, romantic, funny at times….loved it!
