This was a lovely slow burning romance. Anna moves to Northumberland to spend time with her best friend after a break up with her fiance. It's a nice story with lots of lovely characters. Well written, a definite heart warmer. Thank you to Net Galley for an advanced copy
FINALLY A BOOK BASED IN THE UK!!!
I really enjoyed this book, I loved all the tropes, blow burn, grumpy x sunshine, getting over an ex, making a new start, close proximity, he falls first and hard, small town romance!
this books was wonderful to read, it was hard to put down and I would happily read it again and again.
This beautifully crafted tale is set in a stunning part of the UK, made even more enjoyable by the vivid descriptions of the landscape—especially since it’s a place I’ve visited and could picture so clearly.
Anna Whitlock’s life takes a devastating turn when her fiancé breaks her heart following tragic news that alters the course of their relationship. Seeking a fresh start, she trades the chaos of London for the wild beauty of Northumberland, where she moves closer to her best friend Fi and takes on a role in an environmental project at a grand Stately Home.
As Anna begins to settle into her new life, she quickly forms connections with her colleagues, particularly Callum, whose charm catches her eye. But it’s her brooding and often exasperating boss, Jamie Mulholland, who truly gets under her skin. Their encounters are charged with tension—he challenges her at every turn, making her feel like she can’t do anything right. Yet, there’s something in the way he looks at her, in the subtle ways he supports her, that makes him impossible to ignore.
As their connection deepens, Anna struggles to let go of her past, finding herself at a crossroads. Determined to shed her old ways of saying "yes" to everything, she starts setting boundaries and making choices for herself—but are these decisions leading her to happiness, or holding her back? Her journey forces her to confront what she truly wants, even if it risks her heart all over again.
The characters are unforgettable, with Hugo the dog being an absolute delight. Jamie’s quiet care and unspoken affection for Anna are heartwarming, and the simmering tension between them is palpable. Every moment they share leaves you desperate for them to sort out their feelings, even as they drive each other—and the reader—a little crazy.
Had the pleasure of being given and advance copy of Wild About You on NetGallery.
A beautifully written story that is based in a lovely part of the UK, which I enjoyed more as I was able to picture the scenery in more detail, particularly when it is an area I have visited myself.
Anna Whitlock has had her heart utterly broken in two by her Fiancé, after they both receive heart-breaking news, which changes the dynamics of their relationship and so part ways. She then decides to leave the hustle and bustle of London and start over again by moving to the wild and rugged moorlands of Northumberland to be near her best friend Fi, and start work on an environmental project at a Stately Home.
Anna soon settles in, starts getting to know her colleagues, particularly Callum, who she takes a shine to and hopes that she can get to know him better. But although she likes Callum, and he seems to be taking an interest in Anna, it is her grumpy and moody boss Jamie Mulholland that gets her blood boiling in more ways than one. Every time they are together, he frustrates her and she can't seem to do anything right in his eyes. But then she begins to realise he looks at her in a certain way and helps when circumstances arise, and from then on she can't resist him any longer.
But as they become closer, Anna realises she cannot move forward, because of her particular circumstances, and so she starts to makes certain decisions, but are they the right ones? She was always the 'Yes' Girl to everything put in front of her whilst in London, but since moving to Northumberland, she is determined to change this and start saying 'No', but is she saying 'No' to the right things, and through doing this, could it break her heart again?
Loved all the Characters, particularly Hugo 🐶. Just loved how Jamie looked out and cared for Anna, even though she didn't realise it, and you could feel the tension between throughout every time they were in the same space and you just wanted to scream at them because of the way they were acting around each other.

This book was an utter delight to read - it was unputdownable, and I would quite happily read it again and again.
Fun and sweetly lighthearted with undercurrents of more serious topics, this was a beautiful read. I found Anna quietly captivating and as a fellow people pleaser, her growth was lovely to follow.
Such a great book! As a fellow people pleaser O could really relate to this book, it was so nice for our MC to put her self and her needs first for once. I highly enjoyed it!
