I enjoyed The Creative Coaching Collective because it explored how creativity and coaching can work together. I chose to review this book as I use creativity—and creative writing in particular—within my health and wellness coaching sessions, and it gave me some useful ideas about how I could use creative expression to support the people I work with.
One thing I particularly liked was the way the poems were introduced. Each one came with a bit of context, which helped set the scene and made them feel more insightful. The poems covered a variety of genres and were written for different reasons by different people, and they also varied in length. It’s the kind of book that’s easy to go through and one I know I’ll return to.
I’d recommend this to anyone who uses creativity in their coaching. It’s a helpful resource and a good addition to your bookshelf.
I've loved dipping in and out of this book. Poetry isn't meant to be read from cover to cover it's more choosing a poem for the moment you're in and this book is brilliant for that. I plan to use it when I run mindfulness sessions and I know others will enjoy the poems as much as I have. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
I got a copy of this through NetGalley and it was an unexpected read. I thought it would be famous poems that applied to coaching topics, but the poems were actually written by the coaches themselves - many during the pandemic. They were very insightful and of course some resonated more than others. It gave me some ideas about how to work more creatively with clients as a coach.
