Jessie Garcia’s The Business Trip is an intense thriller that keeps you hooked from start to finish. With a gripping narrative that keeps you guessing, this novel masterfully explores themes of trust, deception, and the fragile nature of human relationships.
The story alternates between two women, each with her own secrets and motives, as they navigate an unsettling journey that turns into something far more sinister. As the tension builds, you find yourself piecing together a mystery that grows more complex with every chapter. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, the twists and turns of the plot pull you in another direction, ensuring that the suspense never fades.
Beyond its thrilling pace, The Business Trip also makes you query friendship, relationships, and trust—who can you really rely on when everything is at stake? Garcia masterfully plays with these themes, making the psychological tension just as compelling as the action itself.
This book kept me in suspense until the very last page, and Jessie Garcia is undoubtedly a writer to watch. If you love smart, unpredictable thrillers, this one is a must-read.

Omg yes, yes, yes! I can't believe I forgot to review this one but omg I flew through it in a day and it wad easily one of my top books of the year so far. It had tension, twists, turns and kept me guessing. Its well written so you don't even realise how much time has passed since you started reading. I was so invested and couldn't wait to find out what had happened. Its original, very cleverly plotted out and just everything you could want from a thriller

Absolutely brilliant book with some great twists in it that keep you guessing to the very end! Highly recommend but be prepared to stay up as you can't put this down!

This is a gripping thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish
The plot is filled with unexpected twists and turns, the writing is both engaging and suspenseful, with well-developed characters that add depth to the narrative.
The pacing of the novel is perfect, with just the right amount of tension to keep readers hooked without feeling overwhelmed.
Really enjoyable

Cleverly written, this book kept me hooked from the first page, I couldn’t work out what had happened and as the story came together towards the finale it comes into its own. Tension filled and gripping I really enjoyed it.

Two women - strangers - board a plane.
Three days later, they text their friends the same exact messages about the same man. They say they've fallen for handsome stranger and are running away with him.
And then the texts go cold and the woman are declared missing.. .
A mastermind manipulator is at play.. But who is playing who?
A Fantastic debut thriller, an absolute must read with twist after twist, a huge 5 stars.

Two women embark on a trip, Stephanie is a successful Newsroom director attending a conference, while the other, Jasmine, a waitress, is on the run from an abusive partner. Seated on the same row of their flight to Denver, they quickly strike up a conversation. A conversation which will have devastating consequences for them both.
When the two women go off the radar at exactly the same time their friends and work colleagues become worried. Surprisingly so do we the reader, as both women through a series of unusual text messages appear to have fallen head over heels in love with the same gorgeous man, Trent McCarthy.
There comes the mystery: where are the women and who is this man?
The story unfolds through multiple perspectives, each one seemingly bringing us closer to what really happened. I really liked the character Roger, who could have a whole subplot to himself.
However, don't be fooled because as layers of the trip are revealed there is more to come in this fast-paced sit on the edge page turner.
Well done to Jessie Garcia who knows how to tell a story. I still can’t believe this is a debut and look forward to more!
Thank You to both MacMillan Audio and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this exciting thriller

Incredible scenario with so many twists and turns, I didn't see the ending at all. Reall compelling reading, I just couldn't put it down,

That was not what I expected…and it’s a debut novel. Two women get on a flight for different reasons. The story then jumps to after the flight and to various people’s perspectives of the two women and where they are. The reader has to keep up with everyone’s input. Who said what, where they are, what their relationship is to either of the women. The ending is a gasp out loud moment, real left field! I read the book in two sittings - a sure sign that I was enjoying it. Can’t wait for the next one by this author. Thanks to Headline for the invitation to read it and NetGalley.

I really enjoyed the construction of this book which heightened my anticipation of the plot. I was thoroughly invested in the characters and felt they were believable even though some were odious in their behaviour.
I thought the twists were well timed and great.
I will recommend this one especially as it’s a new author and also as I’d love to read her next one!

This twisty thriller follows Stephanie and Jasmine, two women on the same flight, one on a business trip, the other fleeing an abusive relationship. Days later, their friends receive identical messages about the same man… and then they disappear.
With a gripping premise and a plot that escalates from intriguing to wild, this debut kept me hooked. Some parts felt a bit far-fetched, but they only added to the fun. If you love unpredictable thrillers with big twists, this one’s worth picking up! Excited to see what the author does next.

Stephanie works for a news company and is heading to a conference. Jasmine is a barmaid, on the run from her abusive boyfriend. These womens lives are so far apart from one another, they have nothing in common, other than the fact that they end up on the same flight on the same row.
Soon both women go missing, and a man has been arrested for both their disappearances. But maybe things aren't exactly as they seem.
This was a jam packed book filled with so many twists. The story is told from the POV of several characters, jumping back and forth from before the flight, during the flight, and after. But its thankfully pretty easy to keep up with, and it definitely helped to keep the reader in suspense. It was so well written and is a brilliant debut novel. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Two strangers, Stephanie and Jasmine, board a flight; one on a business trip and one running from an abusive relationship. The story is narrated from the POV of the two women before the flight, and in the days following the flight, by people who know them; a friend, neighbour, boss, ex boyfriend and a colleague, as both women send text messages explaining that they've met a guy and all is going well.
With every chapter, the intrigue was building, where were these two women, who don’t even know each other? Is there a connection? Why do their text messages seem off?
I was turning those pages, needing to know what was going on and when the truth was revealed, I was blown away! Close to the end, there was a massive twist, which literally floored me - absolutely epic!
4.5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Jessie Garcia and Headline for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I was surprised this was a book written by a debut author. The story drew me in from the start and held my interest throughout. The plot stretched belief but after all its fiction. I couldn't get through this book quick enough to discover how it ended. I'll certainly look out for future books by this author .

Wow what a great story this is, It's unlike any thriller I've read before. It had so many twists and turns and red herrings, I couldn't put it down. This is the first book I've read by this author and I look forward to reading more. Huge 5 stars.

Two strangers randomly meet on a plane, only to get tangled up in a story of death, lies and deceit.
Told from multiple points of view, this is a face paced thriller with two female leads, and suspense from the first page.
I felt all the characters were well developed, particularly the men (Robert and Trent were very believable).
Some great twists and a thoroughly jaw dropping moment, this thriller keeps you on your toes.
Cracking debut! Looking forward to reading more.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Headline for my advanced copy.

THE BUSINESS TRIP BY JESSIE GARCIA.
Release date set for the 16th of January 2025.
As soon as i started reading this book i knew i was going to love it and i also knew i would be rating this one high.
I thought it was a very interesting plot/story line. which i loved.
There are many shocking twists.
I was surprised to find out that this book is her debut novel.
It's written fabulously.
Congratulations and well done Jessie Garcia

Debut fiction title from this author
Very very VERY difficult to say much about the story for fear of giving anything away so I am going to leave it at ‘this was/is one of my favourite books this year and it had me every which way ( but loose? )’ anyway loose or not it is mind zonking
And that says what I feel so no need to write more
Except it is brilliant 😆😍😎

This is a book of two halves. I loved the first half. It was fast-paced with lots of POVs and evidence and I was totally sucked into the story trying to figure out what was happening. Then about halfway through you discover what's going on it (bar one unexpected and pleasing end twist) and from there it changed. The plot starts to get a bit far fetched and lacks the tension of the first half as much of the story is retold and explained from the perpetrator's POV. So a worthwhile read but could've been great had it kept up the promise of the first half throughout.....

Stephanie and Jasmine are both on the same plane journey. One is on a business trip and the other is escaping an abusive relationship. After a few days their friends get the same text from them about the same man. Then they vanish. What has happened to them both?
I heard a lot of hype about this book, therefore was keen to try it out myself. After finishing, I can see why a lot of people were talking about it. This was a fun, solid debut with clever and intriguing plot. The first half of the book sets the scene and the second half things start to ramp up and go crazy. The characters are written well, however there are some unlikeable ones.
This was certainly a twisty thriller and I have to admit the author managed to floor me at one point. Occasionally there were some far fetched moments, however this helped to keep the story entertaining. I would recommend those looking for an unpredictable thriller with a unique plot to pick this straight up! I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.
