Entertaining by Design by Lorna Gross was not a leader in the field of design books. The cover was beautiful and the concept but in my humble opinion it felt mediocre. The format seemed to want to be comprehensive but nothing felt original or polished.

Entertaining by Design is a guide to creating beautiful gatherings. It covers everything from decorating to setting tables for each event, and it even includes a checklist to ensure you have everything you'll need to host the perfect event.

What sold me on reading this is how it's organized; I haven't come across a book like this that encompasses the changes in season. When I have seen season-specific books, the covers are so obviously seasonal that they could really only serve as a coffee table book for that time. Entertaining by Design doesn't have that problem.

Coffee table books that are actually useful are the cream of the crop, Lorna Gross clearly knows that.

Gatherings by the season. Beautiful photographs of decorated tables, centerpiece designs, menu and recipes are included for a variety of parties such as a tea party and a backyard get together. This is absolutely gorgeous! I can not wait to get this for a coffee table book. I was so amazed by how wonderfully put together this book was. The pictures, the information, and all the things were just incredible!

Lovedddd the photos they were so pretty and such an informative book. It does what it says which to help you design your own tables and decor at home for many different occasions. Also fair warning the yummy foods in the pictures will make you very hungry.
