This book is cute but Noelle needs therapy as soon as possible. I also struggled to understand the logistics of a flight being cancelled but still getting to the town before teatime!
Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review

Noelle Nichols must make it back to her small hometown for the most important deadline of her life. She’s jobless, newly single, and desperate to claim her inheritance before Christmas Eve—or risk losing everything.

When a snowstorm throws Noelle’s plans into the kind of madness only New York winters and canceled flights can bring, she lets loose on the wrong man: Captain Kol Vinter, the tough, ex-military airline pilot who’s suddenly in her way—and, annoyingly, the only person who can help her get home.

Christmas, strangers, a snowstorm and a road trip across the country - this started off a charming, wholesome Christmas tale and halfway through did a full 180 into a sexy romance novel.

It was good, the setting was great, the characters even better and I loved the glimpses into their pasts. I thought it could have done with slightly less raunch, but I may have been so caught up in the idea of a sweet Christmas read that it took me by surprise. The raunchy parts were well written - there was just.... a lot of it.

I loved the small twist with the inheritance and the softening of both characters as they became more comfortable with each other and dropped their facades. Can't wait to read more by Evie James.

2.5⭐️ I was excited for my first holiday book of the year, but this was not for me. I felt no attachment to our main characters - truly did not care what happened to them. I think a big problem for me was being too close to the niche hobbies of the MC‘s. Grew up a horse girl, now fly planes, and a lapsed catholic. nickname was meh, forced proximity felt forced, and didn’t really feel the connection of the relationship.

In Christmas Cancellation, Noelle’s life is in shambles—she’s lost her job, faced betrayal, and is now stuck in a snowstorm that could alter her future. Enter Captain Kol Vinter, a rugged, no-nonsense man with his own struggles. As they navigate forced proximity and romantic tension, their journey unfolds like a modern It’s a Wonderful Life, filled with self-discovery, healing, and unexpected love. The story combines Christmas warmth with real emotional depth, witty dialogue, and a hint of spice. Ultimately, it’s a heartwarming reminder that even amidst life’s chaos, something wonderful can emerge.

If you want a smutty and cute Christmas read, this is a great one. I considered this a good palate cleanser as I didn't connect too much with any part of this book but it was still a cute read with great spice.

This book was just the right amount of sweet and spicy! What do you do when you feel like your world is crumbling around you and you lose all of your family and your job? You have a meltdown in an airport, get noticed by a grumpy pilot and then impulsively take him up on an offer you cannot refuse. This book was about finding oneself against all odds and breaking down all the walls.

I found both of the main characters completely unlikable for the first half of the book.
While I did enjoy the second half more, it took a long time to get there.

There was a lot of spice, so if that's what you're reading for, you'll likely be pleased.
I need a little more plot and some kind of redeeming quality in a main character to truly be invested in a book.

This is my first read by this author and I didn't know what to expect other than the title. I wanted a book to open up my christmas reading and start it off. Well it did that and MORE,
There are two characters, Noelle who is travelling from Atlanta to upstate NY to sign some legal papers and her plane her cancelled. Then Kol, the pilot happens to sat in the same place where Noelle is having her Mel;tdown on the phone and he puts her straight about the situation. They decide to join forces and drive to Albany with problems of the weather.
Kol is fanciable to Noelle, Noelle is mouth to Kol. Will they meet in the middle and enjoy each others company on this trip?...........
This book goes into ALOT of detail surrounding sexual activity between the two and although I am not a prude at all, I don't mind a sexual connection and discussion in the book but this went on too much and it felt like I was reading a porn rather than a Christmas read. It was set in the most idyllic town of sarasota springs and yet the christmas events were very small compared to the sex scenes,
I don't think I would read this author again, but if this is your thing, then so be it. We are all different.

The book was okay it just wasn’t for me. It’s instalove which just isn’t my thing. I also didn’t really care about the characters that’s much, but that might be because the story takes place over such a short time period. It was an easy read and passed the time. It was a hallmark movie in book form.

I just don’t think I was the reader this book is aimed at.

Thank you NetGalley, Evie James and Booksgosocial for this arc.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book!!

What a great book!! It had me hooked from page one! I couldn’t put this down. I finished it in one sitting. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. This was a first for me by this author but it will not be my last!!

This book was cute and very Christmasy, but I struggled to get though it. The author lost me in the first chapter when the FMC was stuck at a NYC airport with no option but a motel and her Christmas Eve flight was only half full. There's just no way. And the rest of the book continued with the implausibilities, especially the nickname "Stinkerbelle"
I would recommend this book go through some more edits before publishing. I well not post this review publicly.

Kol is a pilot without a flight. Noelle is a passenger without an operating airplane. After Kol tells Noelle off, he offers her a ride to where she needs to go. I enjoyed the story in the beginning. I skipped four chapters due to way too much sex, then only skimmed the ending. It was better in the beginning but still a cute Christmas story.

**Book Review: *Christmas Cancellation* by Evie James – 4 Stars**

*Christmas Cancellation* by Evie James is a heartwarming holiday romance that blends cozy Christmas vibes with deeper emotional moments. When Noelle and Kol meet after a canceled flight, they’re forced to spend the holidays together in a small town, and what starts as forced proximity quickly turns into an unexpected romance. The opposites attract dynamic between the two is engaging—Kol is the supportive, understanding presence Noelle needs to heal from her past, and their chemistry is undeniable.

While their relationship progresses quickly (thanks to a bit of insta-love), their connection feels real, especially as Kol helps Noelle work through her grief. The book delivers a satisfying HEA and offers a perfect balance of lighthearted fun and emotional depth. The spice was also excellent.

One of the highlights of this book is the witty banter between Kol and Noelle. Their playful exchanges bring a lot of charm to the story, adding humor and warmth to their budding relationship. It’s clear they enjoy each other’s company, and their quick wit helps balance the more emotional moments, making their connection feel all the more authentic.

This one is split for me. I liked the main story and characters, but the sex was a bit too...wowser. if that's your thing, this will be a great read. If not, you'll likely not enjoy it.

I really did enjoy this book, most of the books I’ve read this week are holiday/Christmas romances so this was perfect to add to my list! Some of the topics discussed in this book were a bit heavier than I expected for a holiday romance and I don’t think I was prepared for it but I think it was written very well and I loved seeing how being with Kol helped Noelle deal with her past. When Kol and Noelle met in an airport after a cancelled flight neither of them expected to be spending the holidays together or to fall in love. This book was very insta-lust/love where the characters fell in love within very few days. However, they did get to know each other well. During their time together they found out silly get to know you questions and the darker sides of each other. Both characters had baggage from their past that they were dealing with. Noelle especially learned to finally allow herself to grieve and work through things that she’d been ignoring with a little help from Kol who happened to know exactly what to do and say. I really liked that he was there and helped her deal with her grief. I think it brought them together and it’s one of the reasons why I’m okay with how quickly the relationship moved. There was also some spice in this book that happened very early on in their relationship that was very fun but also very intimate for how long they knew each other. Overall this book did give me the cozy Christmas vibes and I thought the relationship was very cute. The one little thing I didn’t love was the nickname that he gave her in the beginning just because I don’t think it sounded very cute and it wasn’t meant to at first but I was hoping he would change it or alter it at least once they started getting to know one another.

This was a cute holiday romance. I loved the premise--grumpy pilot and sharp-tongued passenger end up driving through a snowstorm together when flights are cancelled.

Noelle's having a rough time: her slimy boyfriend screwed her over at work and dumped her, she quit her job, and she's still grieving the loss of her parents from several years ago. Kol sees her at the airport and hears her latest predicament--she needs to get to Saratoga Springs that day or lose the inheritance from her aunt (and, really, who waits til the last day to do that, grieving or not). So he offers to drive her...

Road trip/snowed in romances are so much fun, and this one had a lot of promise. I just didn't love the writing or the characters. They were fine, nothing terrible, I just found Noelle to be overly dramatic and kind of annoying, and Kol to be closed off and obsessed with control. I didn't really connect with them. But it was still a fun book and there were some really nice scenes, especially the banter in the car and some of their conversations. I just can't go all the way up to four stars.

Cancelled flight, grumpy sunshine pilot & a story about finding yourself among the holidays…if this intrigues you, you will eat up “Christmas Cancellation”. Kol + Noelle find themselves in a forced proximity situation when the grumpy pilots flight plans are cancelled and the newly unemployed blonde are thrown together at the airport on a stormy day before Christmas. With her need to get to her aunts hometown before the end of the day, Kol steps in and assists her in getting her to Saratoga Springs safely as well as navigating grief she’s been holding in for years.

This story was a mixture of light hearted and deep but a holiday book that will leave you with all the warm fuzzy feelings.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

It was a well written spicy book and very good for what it was. The spice guaranteed to give you a flush. The plot was a great setup for the romance to unfold and the characters were cute and balanced each other out. Opposites attract but they have the right amount of similarities to make the romance believable.

I found some themes confusing, like he doesn't play games but he plays games and his opinion changed frequently. So for me it wasn't a 5* but I enjoyed the quick pace and the plot drew me in. I think the characters weren't for me but that's okay. I can see anyone looking for a romantic spicy read appreciating this one!
