This was a cute, “we’ve been in love for years, but were too scared to admit it,” friends to lovers romance. Harri is the sweetest, cinnamon bun of a best friend a girl could ask for. Honestly, I 💯 want to run a bookshop with him! Him and Annie are adorable, but talk about your angsty, super slow burn tension! I thought they’d never get it together! I love the people of the town! I got such Gilmore Girls vibes from the town meeting, and it made me so happy. I NEED more of Nicholas and William’s story though!! Even if it was just a friendship, it made my heart happy. I honestly appreciated how this book put so much emphasis on friendship and community.

To start, I just want to say that I think this book has all of the ingredients of a book that I'd really enjoy. The story is well written and thorough in a way that reminded me of an Emily Henry novel. The characters are solid, and the representation is great. There are multiple subplots that tackle realistic issues, and it takes place at a cozy small town bookshop / cafe on the beach. I absolutely loved those aspects of the story. The reasons that this book was not a five-star read for me are as follows. First, I think it would've been nice if we got more of William's story, as he's such a large part of the plot. It also would've paired nicely with Annie and Harri's situation. Second, I wish Harri and Annie acknowledged their feelings sooner in the book. Towards the end, it felt less like trying to save the friendship and more like a major miscommunication (not my favorite thing in books but also super subjective). Third, and finally, I wish we would've had more cute Harri and Annie moments. If I remember correctly, there were about two or three absolutely adorable scenes and the rest of the book focused more on their independent self-growth. I absolutely love when books explore characters individually. However, I felt like we didn't really get to see what makes Annie and Harri a great couple in "real time". You hear how much Harri idolizes Annie towards the beginning of the book and we hear about Annie's feelings a little bit later, but there wasn't too much present-day banter or tension to convince us of their chemistry, at least to me (again it's subjective).

Overall, this was a really enjoyable read, and I think it would be great for fans of Emily Henry, Laurie Cass, or small-town novels in general!

This book was my first book by Kiley Dunbar and the Borrow a Bookshop series. I wish that I could experience operating a bookshop like Harri and Annie. Friends from University and fast-forward running a small town bookshop for two weeks later in life.

The change came at a crucial time in their lives when they needed to figure out who they were and acknowledge their true feelings for one another.

I will read all of the series because I enjoyed Kiley Dunbar's writing. I loved the concept, the characters, and the small town, but there were too many characters.

Not my favourite in this series. I am wondering too if the concept has been overdone, the bookshop holiday romance. As for the main characters in this story, I'm not sure I believed in their chemistry. And I felt for Paige. I actually think she was used, much as Harri tried to persuade himself otherwise. Loved the continuation of The Borrow a Bookshop stories. If you haven't read the series , the books are all a great read all with new characters but catching up with the old ones. Bookshop, beautiful village , great characters and loved the reading for wellness message.

There is nothing inherently wrong with this book: The setting is idyllic, cute friends to lovers trope, well written. However, it just didn’t work for me. I think I had a hard time believing in the chemistry of these “friends”. There were also some sub-plots thrown in that felt a bit random. I found my attention drifting quite often, leading me to think there were some issues with the pacing. I am curious about other books in the series and still might read one of those to see if I like it better. It’s a cute concept.

I loved this! It was great to be back at the borrow a book shop. It’s great how new characters are brought into familiar settings and we get to catch up with old friends while making new friends.

Harri and Annie were great characters and I liked getting their back story and watching their lives over a decade of friendship no matter the distance between them. Navigating their feelings for each other, both hiding their truth from the other, it just takes a few interfering Clove Lore residents to set them right.

Mrs C and Bovis nearly stole the show, but Harri steps up and shows Annie how he really feels, with the help from some of the residents.

I can’t wait to see who holidays at the bookshop next.

A lovely return to the borrow a book shop. Annie and Harri are the new borrowers meeting for the first time in nine years after university. Their close friendship is tested and their own personal demons need to be confronted before either can find peace. I enjoyed this new episode in the series but wished it had followed the borrowers intro Annie’s battle or told us more about William’s future.

I have read all off the borrow a bookshop series so far and still enjoy them.
This one is just as good as the rest.
Annie and harri met in unii 10 years ago and arranged to goon the waiting list for the borrow a bookshop holiday.
After waiting and having to cancel it they finally get there.
The locals as usual like to bet on whos going to get together while they are staying there.
But Harri doesn't think Annie likes him like that and Annie thinks the same only to find out at the end of the holiday that they have always liked each other all this time.

Having loved all of the previous books in the borrow a bookshop series I couldn’t wait to get stuck into the latest instalment. This was another fabulous read where we see the return of the previous inhabitants of the village alongside the new recruits to the borrow a bookshop Harri and Annie old friends from university.

As always there was so much more to this story than simply books and romance as it included love and loss and friendship alongside the usual community and village camaraderie

I say this every time I read these books but I would love a turn at running the borrow a bookshop and would be the perfect holiday for me.

Friends-to-lovers is a favorite trope of mine. Because it's never about instalove. It's about shared memories, experiences and difficult times they've been through together. And that's what love is about, according to me.

As I've probably said in every review I wrote about the books in the series (I've read them all), Clove Lore is on my To-Visit list (or at least the village it has been inspired by). Both because the scenery is wonderful but mostly because of its people. And I love meeting them again and again.

The Borrow A Bookshop series is about romance but so much more.
In this instalment, you'll meet Harri and Annie, uni friends who managed to keep in touch for eight years while each being on a different side of the Atlantic Ocean.

They're both struggling in their lives and those two weeks in Clove Lore couldn't come at a better time.

They're sweet and kind (probably a bit too much, as they're constantly interrupted when something might happen at last between them ! Soooo annoying for the reader haha).

The writing is always perfect, the atmosphere warm, Valentine-y but not too much. So heartwarming, like the best armchair you'll ever sit in with a hot cocoa to watch snow fall in winter.

Two bestfriends reunite to find they are both suffering from broken hearts by broken relationships. They journey into an investigation in down and get locked into a building causing them to discovering their deep connection once again. This was really cute and I enjoyed the main characters personalities.

This was such a great and beautiful romance. I loved the slow burn and it led up to the most satisfying conclusion. Highly recommend this gorgeous love story

Every book lovers dream is to run a book shop, so when the opportunity comes for Harri and Annie to run a lovely bookshop in a small village in Devon for a fortnight, they sign themselves up. Annie and Harri have been best friends since uni, although life gets in the way and they drift apart a little over the post uni days, hopefully this holiday will bring them back together. Will their friendship be enough? Or is there more there for the both of them?

This is such a lovely feel good book about friendship, love, loss and everything in between.

Another good story in the series of a couple running a bookshop for two weeks, and naturally romance comes along for the ride. This one has Harri, a Welshman going through a separation from his wife, and Annie, a librarian from Texas. They were best friends 10 years ago at college and although they never did anything about they both felt sparks back then and now. Enjoyed this one, except for a spot where she was dealing with an issue of her former school in Texas and made snide comments about the parents and their politics. Can easily guess who this author voted for, and do not see the need to interject into this story. Still though, overall liked this one and the side story with William. Would recommend.

Oh my the best Borrow a Bookshop yet. I loved it 20o per cent . Williams story was sad and happy . Annie and Hari ‘s story of uni friendship was so moving. I love the bookshop. Can read as a stand alone but the other books are ace . Fab ending.. Read and escape .

I LOVED this book. Truly just a feel good time the whole way through.

Oh this book is absolutely darling in every way! I could not put it down. It was just so sweet from start to finish. I adored the main character and the journey she went on throughout the book. Highly recommend.
