In this book we follow Iris as she receives a birthday present from her departed mother and its effects on her life.
I stopped reading it pretty early on. As soon as emotional and a kind of physical infidelity started, I lost my interest.
I didn't find Iris a likable character. She lacks back bone when it comes to almost everything in her life. The only exception is the present from her mother and when it came to it, she reminded me of Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
The book could also use some editing since the use of Past and Present Tenses in storytelling interchangeably is very frequent.
A haunted prism sends Iris astray from her normal life as a history teacher by day, and anxious dancer by night, i loved the writing and how artistic the details are!
