This was such a good read! I highly recommend 52 Weeks A Party of One to anyone who is going through it. Whether it is friends, family, relationships, this book is made for you.
You spend 52 weeks with the main character as she navigates adulting on another level. Betrayal and family dynamics run deep in this story.
I give this book 4 stars just because a few of the dialogues felt YA and forced. Sometimes it would use explicit language and then the next sentence it would mask it. Other than that, I really enjoyed this journey! Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
After finding her boyfriend and best friend in bed together, Aisha packs her bags and heads to Dallas to put distance between her and the people that caused her the most pain.
The story is not quite what I expected it to be. I expected a fulfilled adventure to self-discovery and healing. Instead we get a FMC who spends much of the time reminiscing about the past, avoiding making new relationships, and refusing to deal with her pain.
I must say the writing is very good. It's just the story is not what I was looking for. I would recommend this for someone looking a story that speaks to family issues, betrayal and loss of close relationships. It is worth reading.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy.
ARC Review: 52 Weeks: Party of One
The story opens with an emotional bombshell: Aisha returns home on New Year’s Eve to find her fiancé in bed with her best friend. This devastating betrayal sets the stage for a raw and deeply personal journey of heartbreak, self-reflection, and healing.
The premise is gripping, and the author does a great job of capturing the complexities of starting over after such a profound loss. However, I struggled to fully connect with Aisha as a character. The pacing felt slow at times, which made it hard to stay engaged. That said, the slower pace reflects the book’s message—healing is a gradual and often painful process.
As the story progressed, certain moments resonated with me, prompting self-reflection and a deeper appreciation for the journey Aisha undertakes. Those moments of insight made me glad I continued reading.
This book is a great choice for readers on their path to healing or those who enjoy introspective and emotionally driven stories. While it requires patience, the emotional depth, and meaningful takeaways make it a worthwhile read. I’m grateful for the opportunity to read this ARC and recommend it to anyone ready for a slower-paced, reflective story.

Aisha's life is falling apart and she has no one to talk to. Not even her mother.
I liked this book. The story is interesting as Aisha sets herself a goal to make life better for herself. Betrayal and healing are the main theme and Aisha's journey gave me food for thought about my own life.
This family drama is well written and Aisha is quite a vulnerable character which I loved.
A new author for me and I want more..
