What a great collection this turned out to be, especially as I'd only read previously one of the four. No worries there though as I enjoyed it more second time around. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to readers of psychological fiction.

My thanks to NetGalley, and publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review

Thank you, Netgalley and Inkubator Books for this ARC. After reading The Perfect Nurse Series by Daniel Hurst, I was hooked on his books! They're very fast-paced, captivating, and have tons of twists and turns. This box set included the four books mentioned below.

1. The Passenger: Amanda is a single mom who has a strained relationship with her teenage daughter. She meets a stranger on her daily commuter train from the city, and the man threatens the lives of her and her daughter if she doesn't give up the combination to her safe.

2. The Break: Karen has been struggling mentally from being overwhelmed with her two sons and her husband, and she needs a break. A friend suggested a local vacation home to Karen for a few nights away from her family in hopes it will help Karen relax and unwind. But there's a dark secret about the vacation home.

3. The Boyfriend: Adele is happily engaged to Tom and diving into wedding planning when something strange begins to happen. Her ex boyfriends are all turning up dead within a few days of each other. Adele worries for her and her fiancé and tries to solve the mystery.

4. New Friends: Becky and Jamie are struggling financially and trying to plan for having a baby. They decide to take a short trip to Spain for a few days and stick to a strict budget. On their last night, they met a couple, Phil and Mel, who are close to them in age but are retired due to 'good investments'. But are Phil and Mel really who they say they are?

This Thriller Box Set is every reader’s dream. It contains full length novels: The Passenger, The Break, The Boyfriend, and The New Friends.

Review for The Passenger: Amanda does not want to commute on the London train anymore. Amanda wants to be a writer. Amanda wants to quit her job and pursue her dream. Amanda saves up money. Amanda also kills a man. She won’t be backed into a corner. She will protect herself and her daughter at all costs. I enjoyed this edge of-your-seat novel and looked forward to every moment I could read a bit more.

Looking for a binge-worthy read? This collection is *perfect* for fans of domestic suspense—or for anyone ready to discover Daniel Hurst’s gripping storytelling for the first time! With short, punchy chapters packed with tension and twists, all four stories had me hooked from start to finish. While marketed as thrillers, I’d personally call them domestic suspense, with plenty of relatable drama.

*The Passenger – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
My favorite of the set! This one had me glued to the pages with its rich character development and high-stakes plot. The story of a woman determined to escape her 9-to-5 grind to chase her dream of becoming a writer is both inspiring and chilling. A must-read!

*The Break – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A tale of betrayal, second chances, and survival. Karen’s attempt to heal from her husband’s infidelity takes a dark turn during a much-needed getaway. The suspense builds steadily, and the ending left me reeling.

*The Boyfriend – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Adele finally finds her “forever” partner—until her exes start dropping dead. This story was wild, twisty, and full of surprises.

*New Friends – ⭐⭐⭐
This one had an intriguing premise—a struggling couple meets a seemingly perfect pair on vacation—but it didn’t quite pack the same punch as the others. Still, the themes of envy and betrayal made for a solid, but slightly predictable, read.

This box set is a fantastic gift for yourself or the thriller lover in your life. With accessible, fast-paced chapters and compelling domestic drama, it’s the kind of collection you’ll want to binge.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.

Daniel Hurst's collection of psychological thrillers (more a collection of novels rather than short stories, making it an unparalleled value) is a masterclass in suspense and intrigue, and it earned 5 stars from this captivated reviewer...

This outstanding collection includes:

The Passenger - One of my personal favorite, this story is a richly developed tale about a woman attempting to earn enough savings to buy her freedom from the 9-5 doldrums so that she can fulfill her lifelong goal of becoming a writer. This tale effectively blurs the line between victim and victor.

The Break - Karen discovers her husband's infidelity, yet she gives her husband a second chance. The relationship is still healing as she takes a break from her slowly healing relationship. However, Karen's short "break" at a holiday home recommended by a friend becomes a lesson in terror - and survival.

The Boyfriend - This story introduced, Adele, a woman who has finally found her "forever" mate, finds her past boyfriends are being killed off, she realizes that things are seldom as they initially seem (at least when the story is conceived by the talented Daniel Hurst).

New Friends - This story begins when a struggling couple encounters a seemingly wealthy couple during a vacation. A main dish of envy served with a side order of misplaced trust rapidly develops into an all top common scenario of betrayal.

Hurst's novels are known for their fast-paced plots, unexpected twists, and deeply flawed yet fascinating characters. Each story delves into the darker aspects of human nature, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

**Plot & Pacing:**
Hurst's novels are meticulously plotted, with twists and turns that keep readers guessing until the very last page. The pacing is relentless, ensuring that the tension never lets up. Whether it's a seemingly ordinary person caught in extraordinary circumstances or a complex web of deceit and betrayal, Hurst's stories are designed to keep readers hooked.

Hurst's ability to create complex, multi-dimensional characters is outstandingly evident in this collection. His protagonists are often ordinary individuals who find themselves in extraordinary situations, and their psychological depth is what makes them so compelling. Hurst excels at exploring their inner conflicts and vulnerabilities, making them relatable and human.

Hurst's novels often explore themes of trust, betrayal, and the fine lines between sanity and madness, and good and evil. His writing style is sharp and evocative, with a keen eye for detail that brings his settings and characters to life. The psychological depth of his stories is what sets them apart, as he delves into the minds of his characters, revealing their darkest secrets and fears.

Daniel Hurst's psychological thrillers are a must-read for anyone who loves a good mystery with a psychological twist. His ability to craft gripping narratives with well-developed characters and unexpected plot twists makes his books stand out in the genre. Whether you're a seasoned thriller fan or new to the genre, Hurst's novels are sure to leave a lasting impression.

For those who enjoy being kept on their toes and love a good psychological puzzle, Daniel Hurst's novels are a perfect choice. His stories are filled with suspense, intrigue, and a deep understanding of human nature. If you're looking for a thrilling read that will keep you guessing until the end, Hurst's psychological thrillers are a great pick.

This collection is made up of four books:

The Passenger: Strangers meet on a train home from work. One of them has been stalking the other with nefarious intentions.

The Break: a busy mom wife and mom takes a short holiday to unwind. Little does she know the wonderful house she is staying has a connection to the past that she won't see coming.

The Boyfriend: Adele's ex-boyfriends are dying one by one. Why won't the police believe this can't be a coincidence?

New Friends: Ordinary couple meets rich couple on vacation. One couple is not who they portray. Chaos ensues.

What a great bunch of reads. I love this author and was beyond excited to read four more. I would recommend any and all of these books.

Thanks to netgalley and Inkubator books for the arc.

Wow!! I had only read one book previously by Daniel Hurst before I got approved for this collection, and it’s safe to say after finishing the whole collection I am HOOKED on this author! Every one of the stories in this collection drew me in so quickly, and the twists and turns were never ending! I think I sped through this entire collection in only a few days, because I literally couldn’t stop reading. Something about Daniel Hurst’s writing is so appealing to me, and I can’t wait to read more titles by this author!
Thank you to NetGalley for a free copy of this collection in exchange for an honest review.

The passenger
By Daniel Hurst
This book was an amazing trip! I loved the pure chaos and worthy of more than 5 stars. Daniel Hurst has such a unique ability to wrap you up in a story and make you so invested in the characters that you have to complete book and figure out what happens. I enjoyed this book extremely and I loved how the characters had flaws in themselves things that made them difficult to love just like people nowadays. What a great thriller!

The Break by Daniel Hurst,

Daniel Hurst does it again with another epic book about chaos and crazy people. I will never get bored of reading these enchanting tales of psycho people and their ability to infiltrate normal lives. I enjoyed this book so very much and enjoyed the fear of looking over my shoulder myself, making sure my friends weren’t fake. This book was relatable and wonderful. I really enjoy hursts writing. I will forever be a number one fan of Daniel hurst.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!

The Boyfriend by Daniel Hurst.
Another Daniel Harris book completed and again this author is always an instant pick up. I love the storyline. I enjoy the chaos with the characters and I’m never disappointed in how the ending turns out. Again on this one I had no idea who the culprit was but was pleasantly surprised it was somebody that I didn’t even peg. The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was the fact that the main character was not as eager to come to the conclusion of who had been killing her exes. I mean, to me, I’d be going extra lengths to figure out who it was. Other than that, the story was enticing and riveting and as always, I enjoy the books by Daniel hurst

New friends by Daniel hurst
When a young couple travels on vacation to wipe away the worries of the day to day and come across a young couple who seem to have it all figured out. Becca and Jaime are reeling to figure out how they’ve done it. Fancy cars, nice vacation, and what seem to be a care free couple. Phil and Mel have a life the two young lovers can only dream of. Well the relationship turns sour when Becca and Jaime realize that they have been had by a couple of con artists and their dreams of having a nest egg have gone down the tube. How can they save their future and the unexpected that is to come.

Putting together four full books in one was a move that would work for some readers, and not for others. For me, I found it difficult to make my way through. It would have worked better, in my opinion, to put the strongest book at the end, however I felt that it was difficult to enjoy the final story.

I enjoyed The Passenger, and The Break was probably my favourite of the four. They are both interesting stories with an original concept and an element of suspense. The Boyfriend was also an interesting story, although I have read other books with a similar storyline before. I did not overly enjoy The New Friends. It was hard to sympathise with Becky and Jamie who made blatantly foolish decisions over and over again.

I was disappointed that although these are marketed as thrillers, there were very few twists and those that were there were either quite early on in the stories, or easy to guess.

Thank you for the ARC.
