This is an adorable book!! From the first page to the end you love the little ghost. The story is good and the message behind it is one everyone should hear. Everyone could learn to accept everyone for who they are - differences and flaws and all.

A wonderful story that allows readers to see how embracing what makes us different can open new doors. The theme of difference is clearly present, but the author also touches on the cultural background that sets us apart. A well-crafted and engaging story that avoids being moralistic.

From stage left enters the young ghost, whose fears see him attempting to integrate himself into a society that has a difficult time appreciating itself in its entirety. This story focuses on a ghost who, unlike the majority of ghosts, does not have a sheet to roam around the evening skies; instead, his thick & heavy quilt binds him to the paranormal existence of the ghost world.

For young readers who may enjoy a slight tinge of the paranormal without the foreboding of terror, this sweet little story will be the perfect fit. The main character is attempting to find himself & his role; rather, he struggles with understanding why he has a quilt & other ghosts have a sheet. Why was he made different?

The story does not focus on the age of the ghost therefore, the reflection of how he became a ghost—from his human form—is absent, granting this story the ability to purely focus on the value of individuality, unique qualities, & creative experiences.

The quilted ghost has felt differently than other ghosts & some of them have gone so far as to tease him. His family tree boasts of ghosts who were adorned with different fabrics & they did just fine; the little ghost must also remember that even though everyone might seem to share something in common, this does not mean that they are all the same. There is space & value in him & his quilt too.

What I appreciated about this book was the moral of the story. At times, I wondered whether the quilted ghost would be made to live with the humans who, while trick-or-treating, collected him for warmth & comfort. I was glad that the author gave the quilted ghost sentiments of fulfillment & value without needing to compromise what he deemed his familiar home, the place where his family & friends resided. It was beneficial to see the little ghost grow into his own without needing to sacrifice any part of himself in the process.

Ultimately, young readers who choose this book will be met with a tender tale of comfort that remains important for every generation: that we all have space & value in this world, no matter what we look like or where we come from. This story offers readers the opportunity to sit with a cute little character whose adornment inspires kind reminders of friendly nostalgia, & be met with the chance to find such kindness in their surroundings, too.

I don't think the writing is quality in the book but the message that there is a place where you'll fit in is endearing - I just didn't find it to be in sync with the storyline.

This was such a cute book. I read to my son and we both loved it. Great message about being different and how that’s ok. Will definitely purchase my own copy.

This heartwarming story is perfect to help children (and adults who may forget) learn (or remember) that their differences have positives even though they may not yet understand how

I am a major quilt lover/collector so when I saw this book, I knew that I had to read it. This was a sweet story about how being different can let you experience new things in life that you wouldn’t get to experience if you were the same. And how being brave and going outside of your comfort zone can pay off. Plus the illustrations are beautiful and moody enough for Halloween, but not so dark that they are scary. I don’t even have kids and I want this book for my collection.

This sweet little book was very well liked by my daughter (5). She was very attentive to the story and drawn in by the pictures. When the little ghost got sad, she started to get sad. As Halloween is her favourite holiday, it made this book even better for her. She was surprised that the ghost could lay flat, and was worried he got hurt a couple of times. We talked about being different and how that makes us special. For my part, this book was very fun to read, and the illustrations were beautiful. As a crafter, I appreciated the inclusion of a quilted ghost and the ways he eventually used that to his advantage. The meaning behind the book was lovely and is definitely one that we will be reading again. We are looking forward to reading the second book. I read this digital book through NetGalley but I will be buying a hard copy to add to our bookshelf.

This story was so cute and sweet! My toddler is obsessed with all things ghost and “spooky” right now so this was a perfect read for her. It was a good length without too many words on the pages in order to maintain her interest. Perfect for ages 2-5 I’d say! I especially loved the message that it was good for him to be different, and that he actually ended up having a good night because he was different from his friends.

This book was so stinking cute! It was such a lovely story about a little ghost who thinks he's too different to fit in! The little ghost can't fly as well as the other ghosts, because he's a quilt instead of a sheet, so he's heavier. Such a charming story about embracing your own uniqueness! The illustrations in this book were amazing and so cute! The story is simple, but impactful and I've never read something quite like it!

I read this last year (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3539850242), and it was a delight coming back to this short, sweet story again.

A young ghost is a little sad because he's a quilt, instead of a sheet. This sets him apart, and makes him feel sad, and left out of ghost activities, like flying through the air, hiding in plain sight, and other things, too.

On a Halloween night, he gets a chance to help a little girl, and finally feels useful, and this transforms his perception of himself.

This is a sweet story with an adorable main character. I loved the designs on each little square of his quilt, and his small but meaningful journey he goes on that changes his outlook and enables him to connect with other ghosts.

The story is charming, as are the illustrations. Mostly monochromatic, except for the ghost, the sepia-toned artwork forms a great backdrop to the initially isolated ghost watching the life around him, and also is great at hinting at the spookiness of a tale about a ghost. I enjoyed this story all over again, and look forward to more adventures for the ghost who is a quilt.

Such a lovely story about not quite fitting in or being a little bit different in a way that makes things a challenge. This book was beautifully illustrated and had such a well-structured message that it would be hard to find anything to complain about. Little Ghost starts the book sad and lonely, watching as everyone does things that he just can't because his quilt is just so heavy. And then he had an adventure that no one else has ever had, and it makes his difference into a positive, something that results in Little Ghost having a story to tell all his friends. I loved that his adventure also involved caring and helping others.

All in all, this book has such a great message and is a lovely bedtime read for a toddler and early reader.

This was so sweet, adorable, and charming... Like a warm quilt for your heart. A lovely story about being proud of who you are, even - especially - when you're different from anyone around you. Sweet story with wonderful illustrations.

Not me requesting a children’s book arc at the age of 29. But seriously the cover and title were just so cute I couldn’t resist

I adored this sweet picture book about a ghost who's a little different. In the end, it's those differences that lead him on an incredible adventure. The book is full of gorgeous illustrations that bring the story to life. Definitely a great one to share with little ones.

Very beautiful book about being different than everyone around you. A little repetitive but the art makes it a nice journey.
