It needs a good edit because it was full of errors. But the book is still thrilling and the romance part is nice. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for this chance to read this book.

I definitely think the starting was amazing with the whole waking up forgetting what happened. The plot twists along the way were very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The mystery was great and the amnesia trope was great as well - nothing over the top! This was a suspenseful romance done right and I enjoyed it so much! I'm so so so glad that I read this book.

The mystery centered around the night of the fire was super interesting and it had me intrigued to figure out what actually happened that night.

The chemistry between the two main leads - Saige and Ford - was electric. The whole aspect of the "second chance" and then basically the third chance as well was good!

The only thing I would have wished for was if we had a way to get into the mind of Ford in the first half. I think it would have given me a better perspective of his thoughts regarding what happened as the mystery unfolded in the first 50% of the book, especially in response to what they find out along the way!

However, everything else was simply great!

Thank you to Devon Ashley and NetGalley for this arc! 💕

4.25 – 4.5 STARS

“Wake Me Up” is an enthralling, suspenseful story centered around a young woman who loses two years of memories as a result of injuries sustained on the heels of an apparent arson for which she is ultimately blamed. Right from the start, Harper’s arduous journey pulled me in, captivating me from start to finish. Along the road to discovery, there are several twists and turns I hadn’t expected, making this story all the more compelling. There is even a romantic component that adds yet another intriguing dimension to the story. My one complaint, however, is that the ending felt a bit rushed, leaving me with a few questions that were never adequately answered. That issue aside, “Wake Me Up” yields a multi-layered mystery that will keep you guessing right up until the very end.

ARC Review of Wake Me Up by Devon Ashley
* * * * *
A thrilling mystery surronds a young woman and her missing time, her chaotic events, and the love she has forgotten.

Harper woke up near death by the edge of water, with no memory of her last two years and being told she was a felon.
With more questions piling up, and very little in the way of help, our girl must fight to clear her name, unravel the events that that haunt her and remember all that she has lost.
Sometimes, things are not as they appear.

Absolutely fantastic read! Loved it! 5 Stars!!!
An addictive story where you are just begging to get to the end to find out what happened to Harper and why...and if someone needs a psych evaluation.
The answer...yes.
You question friends. You question her roommate. You question her lover Ford as well as his family. Ford and Harper's love reblossoms in their old memories, and its proof that we still wish men like Ford existed.

Wake Me Up - Devon Ashley
4✨
I really enjoyed this book as a break from fantasy. The story was fun to follow and I liked the whole mystery. The characters were easy to love and relate to. Usually I don’t like MCs with amnesia because we know more than them, but here we were as much in the dark as the FMC was, and it wasn’t a whole life or a decade that was lost, only 2 years so she still knew who she was. Most of the time I feel like people in books with memory loss get annoying trying to find out who they are, but not Saige and that is what I loved about this book. The reason this was a 4 star and not a 5 is that I did put it down for longer periods of time a few times because nothing much happened and I lost focus but that is probably just my ADHD brain doing it’s thing.
In the end I liked how we got the answers and the justice we wanted, all tied up in a neat bow. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes thrillers, mystery and suspense.
Thank you NetGalley and Devon Ashley for this ARC, I am leaving this review voluntarily💕

Thanks Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

We follow Harper who has more than two years of her memories after a traumatic event. We follow her rebuilt her life through glimpse (flashbacks memories). The author keeps you guessing and engaged all through the story. It’s a great romance/suspense/mystery novel, I think it’s my first suspense containing romance and I really loved that aspect, it brought more depth to the story. Definitely recommend this book.

I just finished Wake Me Up by Devon Ashley, and I have to say, it was a mixed bag for me. The premise was intriguing - a girl wakes up with amnesia after a traumatic incident she doesn’t remember, and the story focuses on her piecing her life back together, reconnecting with people, and uncovering some hard truths from the past two years.

The emotional depth and the protagonist’s journey were definitely the highlights. Watching her try to rebuild relationships and face the gaps in her memory kept me turning the pages. There’s something raw and real about how the story portrays healing and rediscovery.

However, the book has some issues that held it back. The grammatical errors scattered every few chapters were distracting and pulled me out of the story. It really needs a thorough edit before being considered polished. Another downside was the reasoning behind the attack. I couldn’t connect with the motive, it felt weak and underwhelming. The idea that an obsession over someone could escalate to that extent, with no deeper layers, didn’t sit right with me.

That said, the book has potential. With the right corrections and stronger writing, it could become a really solid story. For now, I’d give it 3 stars ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ interesting but flawed. If you’re into stories about resilience and recovery, this one might still be worth checking out.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read, review, and give my honest opinion.
