For a novella, I enjoyed it. Their meet cute and banter kept me intrigued. Their love story could have been more fleshed out, but as mentioned above this was a novella so the author did a good job with what she had.

A super cute cozy and spicy novella about an author falling in love with the lead of the show she writes fanfiction about. I would not mind if this book was a full-fledged novel. I love the Sarah Deeham's writing and how she managed to make a novella feel fully fleshed out without rushing anything. I definitely want to read the rest of the series now.

When he unwittingly makes her a laughingstock, it’s going to take more than a Hollywood smile to soothe her grudge. I spotted this sweet-looking romantic comedy novella by new to me author Sarah Deeham about a Jane Austen fan fiction writer and a charming famous actor who was once her muse for Mr. Darcy and I couldn’t pass it up.
Star-Crossed Darcy is the fourth of the Falling for Famous series of standalone romance. I hadn’t read the previous ones, but I had no trouble jumping into this one.
Jane wrote a fan fic based on a TV adaption of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and it unexpectedly took off. The actor, Finn Lyons who played the Darcy role made some unfortunate remarks about it and she became the face of memes. So, it’s unfortunate that she encounters him at the bookshop for her book tour stop.
Finn regrets what happened and finds Jane can and does hold a grudge. He’s got his work cut out for him if he wants the gal to feel for him what he does for her. With the help of a forced proximity situation when trapped in an elevator, a chance to air their perceptions of the past, and a chemistry that isn’t scripted or from a book plot, Jane and Finn get a do over- a steamy, sweet do over.
From what I understand, this edition is expanded from the original and the fun knit-a-thon, limo, and epilogue scenes were not present in that one. And, I have to say I’m so glad I got to read it with the extensions because the knit-a-thon was a favorite.
I’m a bonafide JAFF (Jane Austen Fan Fiction) reader so I was tickled to read a quick romance featuring a JAFF writer and an Austen TV movie actor. What a combo! And, there were some good Pride & Prejudice winks at the original in there though this is for anyone and not just Austen lovers.
This was a fast read, but it was well developed for the individual characters, their romance, and overall story plot. I was sympathetic to Jane’s situation from the start, appreciating how vulnerable she felt after the shot at her writing and public opinion. I was glad Finn was bent on righting the wrong he did her- he was a sweetie and I felt my heart tug right along with Jane’s when he addressed what he said and told her of his past.
All in all, I was left satisfied with this heartwarmer that had some spicy moments. This was sweetheart of a Celebrity Romance and I enjoyed Sarah Deeham’s writing so I want to read the other novellas in this Falling for Famous series. Definitely recommend to RomCom and Contemporary Romance fans.

This was a fun, steamy, and quick read!
Jane Romano writes a Pride & Prejudice fan fiction that turns into a very successful book series! Her new found fame comes with joy of having her story out in the world but also the negative side effects of having her name in tabloids. One very large thorn in her side is a man named Finn who just so happens to play a perfect-in-Janes-mind Darcy. Without giving too much away - Jane is no longer a fan of Finn.
Due to some suspicious circumstances, Finn and Jane find themselves locked in a room together. Jane challenges Finn in a way no other woman ever has and Finn has a softness and big heart for others than Jane was unaware of. Sound familiar? ;)
I was skeptical in the beginning that this was going to be too “insta-love”, but in the end it worked.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC version of this novella.

I didn't realize this was part of a series (totally my error!) but I still found this book to be a fun short read with good character chemistry! Who can resist a "star crossed" storyline? Perfect book for a quick read and easily a single sit down type of story.
Thank you for the copy of this book!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a refreshing and captivating experience, and I found the writing to be both engaging and accessible. The story flowed smoothly, making it easy to stay connected to the plot and characters without feeling lost or overwhelmed. The author struck a perfect balance, keeping things interesting while still making the content feel approachable. Overall, it was a wonderful read, and I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for an enjoyable and easy-to-digest book.

“She’s not Hollywood. She’s Jane Austen and knitting needles. She’s wild curls and bookstores.”
This was such a cute novella. I enjoyed the plot of this book and the immediate chemistry between Finn and Jane. Jane is such a relatable character, sassy, introverted, and obsessed with Mr. Darcy the way most of us book girlies are. I enjoyed the connections toward Pride and Prejudice, too. I know this was a novella and things are more rushed, but I would’ve loved a slow burn full length story with these two!

When fan fiction becomes the best romance novel....but the author and actor start off with a sizzling hate and tension!!!!
I adored this book and loved how finn changed his approach and became extremely considerate. Jane is extremely sweet and a devoted Jane austen lover through and thorough!!!
I loved how even thou it was a novella, it showed different depths of character growth and a beautiful story came along with it!
Super excited to read more from this author!!
Thank you Netgalley for this wonderful read!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun book. I enjoyed it a lot!

i really don’t think i’m cut out for novellas. unless it belongs to a series and includes an established couple, there's almost never enough development, and it’s usually too fast-paced for me to care. i genuinely think “Star-Crossed Darcy” would have shined being its own full novel, with extra nuances and tension. but….with that said, it was such a cute premise (which is why i was ecstatic to receive an arc), and the characters definitely had zinging chemistry, so i was rooting for their happily ever after. thank you to NetGalley, Sunshine & Story Press, and Sarah Deeham for providing this eARC!
also, sidenote: the cover is ADORABLE

This book was so gorgeous. Would highly recommend for pride and prejudice fan. This book had me giggling and making me kick my feet. Was definitely a fun novella, with a lot of banter to! Highly recommend!

This was a spicy good time! I loved the set up from the beginning. Our two main characters start off as enemies and grow to become believable lovers. I love the way our leading man is portrayed. Our main lady faces things head on and in such a sassy way. Sarah Deeham did a great job of addressing issues in a real way while keeping the story moving forward. Overall, very happy I read this and look forward to reading more from this author!

Short and sweet, it takes the perfect romance novel plot (in my opinion) and has modernised it to perfection. I did find the fanfic angle a little bit silly, but it helped add to the humour of the novel.

Reading this I have discovered that spicy novellas are probably not for me, but by the end of the story I really liked the couple and was rooting for them. I don't know if all spicy novellas are formatted the same way but the spice before the relationship development felt odd to me... since they actually seem to have a connection. I think I would have had banter, make-out, relationship, then spice probably for that short amount of pages. Overall if you don't mind that, this is a fun, cute story.

This was such a cute quick novella. The Jane Austen Inspired parts of this book were so fun to read. I would highly recommend this book.

As a lover of Jane Austen and Pride & Prejudice being my favorite book of all time, I was excited to read this! I loved the banter between the MC’s! How by simply being locked into a room together forces both of them to face the social media disaster of an elephant in the room (so to speak). I ate up the banter that left me giggling! The chemistry between the two was great and this was a fun read and I will definitely recommend to family and friends. Huge thank you to Net Galley for sending me the ARC because this was so good!

Star-Crossed Darcy is a quick, cute read about an author and the actor who inspired a character in her book.
Jane and Finn had lots of chemistry, but it was definitely insta-attraction when they are forest thrown together. I would have liked a bit more of the time they spent building their relationship via text, calls, etc. as it was my favorite part. For a novella, though, it was fairly well done. I do want to try more from the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

I love Darcy, and love when my romances are in novella form, so this was a perfect fit. It was such a sweet story and both main characters were incredibly likable. I would absolutely recommend as a warm, happy novella that can be read in one sitting.
Jane Romano is a bestselling author, famous for her rewrite of Pride and Prejudice, with her Darcy based on the Darcy played by Finn Lyons. Unfortunately for her, Finn embarrassed her tremendously in an interview a year ago, even though he’s never met her. Now they find themselves together for a book signing.

I love the concept of this book. A man she adored and admired from afar in his fame and their worlds coming together. I love the forced proximity, and the growth Finn shows in the book even though it’s a short story, his character demonstrates amazing progress. Jane is absolutely relatable as the kinda nerdy, bookish fan fiction writer who may not be attractive to everyone but Finn sees right through it to who she really is. Jane makes great strides in trusting men again and I loved seeing Finn go back and right his previous wrongs and accept responsibility for those he hurt. He joins a knit a thon to prove himself to her and if that isn’t love I don’t know what is! Thank you to Sarah Deeham and the publisher for the chance to read this!
