First of all, Thank You Netgalley for the ARC granted to me. I am a huge enhtusiast f anything that has to do with Jane Austen's book "Pride and Prejudice", so when some narrative includes it in its premise, I'm All in. And this another one that succeded well in that concept. I liked the main characters and the story.

This is of course a novella, so rather short and it also speeds up the story. But it is very nicely done.

Jane is an Austen fan and also a bestseller author. Her books are - originally - fanfic stories about the series The Quill (based on Pride and Prejudice). The lead actor in The Quill is Finn Lyons and first Jane was a really big fan but after a disastrous interview Finn gave in which he implied Jane was in love with him she became the subject of memes and internet trolling. So when Finn enters the bookstore where Jane is also giving a reading and they get locked up in a storage room... Jane is not amused.

A very enjoyable story with great characters and lots of heat!

Sweet novella. Completely stand alone. Great for a quick read.
I liked the premise and I am now hunting down the rest of Deeham's books.

Everything I wanted in a book as a Jane Austen fan. If you love steamy romance, Jane Austen, Darcy and Elizabeth, and books without third-act breakups. READ THIS BOOK!

I am going to be messaging all my friends to read this one!

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for an arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was meant to be a novella but I thought its length was appropriate and well developed. Jane Romano has struggled with her confidence since Hollywood heartthrob Finn Lyons, humiliated her in an interview. Whilst she had a crush on him, after that interview, she has avoided him at all costs. When she finds him at the same bookstore as her, she is mortified. When they end up trapped together, truths are gradually revealed.
I really enjoyed this romance between two misunderstood characters. Finn is such a sweet guy who catches Jane, completely unaware with his sincerity. A romance writer to look out for!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story focuses on Jane and Fynn, whose lives are brought together by Pride and Prejudice. Jane is an author and Fynn plays Mr. Darcy on a TV show. Their chemistry is off the charts, and they quickly fall in love.
I personally dislike the instalove connections and therefore the story fell a little flat. I also found the side characters lackluster.

Jane is an author whose new book, Leather and Lords, came from fan fiction of the popular show, The Quill. Too bad the actor who plays Darcy, Finn Lyons, has dismissed her work as that of an obsessed fan. And it's even worse when the two attend the same bookshop to do signings and end up stuck in the back room trapped together.

I love a forced proximity story, and I really appreciated that this book provided a portrayal that some of the most popular romance writers who came out of fan fiction experience (love Ali Hazelwood and Lana Ferguson!) and the experience of losing the freedom that comes from writing anonymously. I would definitely read more of the Falling for Famous series!

I am always up for a Jane Austen adaptation. While this book isn't really that, the inclusion of Darcy's character plays a role. This was a fun, quick read. I am interested in reading more from the series.

Fluffy feel-good novella

The standalone novella attached to the Falling for Famous Series is very enjoyable, light and sexy.

Jane is an author of spicy romance books who reached fame through her fanfiction of a successful TV adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. Finn is the show's lead actor and, according to an interview, despises Jane's writing and thinks she's obsessed with him, which turns her career on its head and makes her dread any public appearances. Also, what is this writer's block she's experiencing?! When they meet in Jane's favourite book café, thing come to a head..

I really enjoyed this book. There is no real crisis, no bottom dark pit of despair, but the chemistry between Jane and Finn is amazing! They have a lot of banter and I think without prolonged negative stretches this novella is a perfect cosy, sweet and spicy read. The stakes are low but you really, really don't mind.
There is some spice and a cameo - plus some very fun texting.
The only thing I genuinely don't get or agree with is the title, but hey ho.

Great for fans of Bridgerton, Jane Austen and fluffy romance!

4 stars!

What a sweet little novella! Realistic? No. Lovely to read? Yes!

Lovely Jane Austen references here and there, a sugary romantic story, but also a bit of reflection on how to be honest with yourself and find the direction you want to go in your professional life. And the knit-a-thon was fun!

This was truly a joy to read, such a sweet little snack!

WHAT TO EXPECT:
* Book about books
* Enemies to lovers
* Forced proximity
* Hea
* Insta lust
* Open doors
* Opposites attract
* Point of view: dual 1st person
* Steamy

Okay, this was a perfect little novella that had me giggling and kicking my feet! Was it a realistic timeframe or circumstances for how the main characters met, fell in love or how it all worked out? Not even a little bit and it was all the better for it! When your FMC (Jane) is a fanfic writer turned traditionally published author, the cornier and more fanfic-like her relationship with the hunky Darcy actor, the better! And what a hunky, golden retriever he was. I fell in love with the MMC straight away and loved what a goner he was for Jane. A cad he may be, but like our girly said… sometimes that’s just more fun!

Thank you to Sarah and NetGalley for allowing me to read the ARC copy!

Thanks for NetGalley for short novella. It was cute love story about Jane a writer and Finn Lyons. It was giving enemies to lovers vibes thru our the book. Definitely a good book if your looking for a short read. I read this a standalone but it's part of a series.

A cute, quick, sexy read!

I loved the concept of this novella, Jane is a Jane Austen fan and has written a series of books based on a TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, which is also inspired by Darcy played by Finn - our MMC - but after her first book takes off, Finn makes some *rude* comments about Jane personally, how she’s obsessed with him, practically stalking him…

A year later, Jane’s second instalment is just out and she’s ready to do a meet and greet at her local bookstore, and who should waltz in…. You guessed it! Finn!!

The pair get locked in a stockroom (spicy!) and hash things out, turns out Finn was drunk during the interview and made some stupid choices. Once they’ve cleared the air, Finn attends Jane’s reading and makes amends, and the relationship begins!

I loved the knit-a-thon, any love interest who commits 12 hours to learn how to knit just to spend time with his crush… he’s a keeper!

This book is perfect for fans of a Darcy hand twitch, with a side of spice!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC! I am not your regular Pride and Prejudice super fan but this story was so cute. The novella is definitely heavily inspired by P&P but it’s not a prerequisite by any means.

I really liked the give and take banter of Jane and Finn, and the way their chemistry develops from the first meeting. It’s fast paced since it’s a shorter book, and not a whole lot of room for large character development but I like their arc as people and as a couple.

My first for the author, but I’ll be reading more!

If you're a fan of Pride & Prejudice or Jane Austen retellings, I would recommend this novella. The novella had humor, great characters and a swoon worthy romance. I really liked Jane, she was a great heroine. The writing style was easy to read and was fun.

Star Crossed Darcy by Sarah Deeham is such a fun and heartfelt read! The modern twist on a classic romance is super creative, and the chemistry between the characters is off the charts. The witty banter and the push-and-pull dynamic kept me hooked the entire time.
