Everyone Is Lying is a gripping, can't-put-down psychological thriller. After a terrible accident, Jen wakes up not remembering anything about her life but her name. A woman, who claims to be her sister, and an at-home nurse are the only two people who appear to know or care about what happened to Jen. Jen doesn't understand why she doesn't have more family or friends surrounding her. What kind of life had she lived before her accident? As her memories begin to return, Jen is convinced that she is married with a child; however, if that is the case, then where are those who supposedly love her most?
Everyone Is Lying is fast-paced with short chapters. I absolutely needed to find out what happened to Jen and who Rachel and Bryce were, as well as what happened between Jen, Cathy, and Ian. There were lots of twists that I did not see coming throughout the book. I enjoyed how the reader and Jen were both in the same boat - not knowing what happened or who anyone is. Just like Jen, I had absolutely no idea who to trust. I did think that the end was a bit convoluted. I just thought there was too much behind the accident and everything else. It all became too unbelievable. With that said, I did like the final chapter. I will definitely read more by Holly Down!

Jen wakes up not knowing where or who she is. We follow her journey as she tries to regain her memory little by little. What really happened to Jen and who is responsible?
The book started out a little slow, but it still held my interest as the authors writing kept me wanting to continue reading to find out what happened to Jen. It is repetitive in some parts, but your life is pretty mundane when you’re trying to find out who you are and what happened to you. Jen’s circle is small, and without being able to move much, she has to believe what those few people around her tell her. The story moves quicker towards the ending but I enjoyed guessing people’s motives throughout the book.

This is an exceptional psychological thriller, it is incredibly past paced and twisty and as the title says everyone is lying making it impossible to know who is reliable and which story arc is true.
I love how lost I got in these pages as the story unfolded and no matter how hard I tried to second guess the author, I soon discovered that trying to establish who was telling the truth was 100% akin to attempting to staple jelly to a wall.
I'd be hard pushed to identify a character that I liked in the book, I wanted so much to be on the side of the main character, but I'm not sure she was a great person either before or after the accident that sees her bed bound.
Fans of Lisa Jewell will absolutely devour this book and I am grateful to the author, Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC in return for an honest review.

A gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The story follows a complex web of secrets, lies, and deceit that unfolds around a central mystery. The pacing is fast and tight, with plenty of twists that will leave readers second-guessing everything they thought they knew.
Down’s writing is sharp and expressive, creating a tense atmosphere that pulls you deeper into the characters' lives. The characters are well-developed, with motivations that feel real and relatable, even if their actions can be questionable at times. The unreliable narrators add another layer of intrigue, making it difficult to know who to trust.
Overall, this is a fast-paced, well-crafted thriller that will leave readers thinking long after the last page. It’s a solid choice for fans of suspense and mystery, and well worth the read.

I really liked this thriller. I couldn't put the book down. That ending was crazy!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

This was a really gripping thriller that had me hooked from the first page! I flew through this so quickly because I just had to know what was going on. I absolutely love the amnesia trope in thrillers, and I found that aspect of the story really interesting! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a book that you cannot put down, and keeps you guessing until the last page!
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This book gave me absolutely everything I needed: a quick, edge of your seat thriller, wrapped up in the most satisfying way possible. Strongly recommend this book when it is released for anyone needing a quick, un-put-downable thriller.
Plot:
Jen wakes up from a coma with no memory of who she is or what happened to her. Naturally, this leads her down a paranoia filled journey of self discovery. Each person she encounters seems to have their own issues that create an uneasy barrier between Jen and the truth. Turns out, you can't trust anyone!
Thanks:
Thank you to NetGalley, Holly Down, and Bookouture publishing for this ARC.

Okay, so I absolutely loved this book!
Straight from the prologue I was hooked! When I thought I had things figured out, a new twist would happen!
Whilst a little longwinded at times, this book still sucked you in & kept you hooked throughout! It had me second guessing who was trustworthy or not!
Also, that ending 😮😏
Thanks for much to NetGalley for the ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Publishing for providing me with an ARC of Everyone is Lying. 🥰
This book kept me on the edge of my seat, questioning who to trust until the very last page. I was captivated by the story of Jen, who wakes up from a coma with retrograde amnesia. With only two people in her life—her sister Rachel and her caretaker Bryce—she can’t shake the feeling that she once had a family of her own. As Jen grapples with her physical and mental struggles, her determination to uncover the truth about herself drives the narrative. 👀
The characters are introduced gradually, adding depth and complexity to the mystery. Each chapter ends with a twist, making this book truly unputdownable.

This book is ok. Seems very far fetched to me. Jen is in an accident and wakes up with no memory. She doesn’t remember her sister who is taking care of her, but does remember a husband and baby. As Jen’s memory comes back, she realizes pretty much everyone is lying to her. Why? What are they hiding? I skimmed it more than anything.

Name :- Everyone Is Lying
Author :- Holly Down
Genre :- Psychological Thriller
Holly Down’s Everyone Is Lying is a taut and unsettling psychological thriller that dives into themes of identity, memory, and deception. Told from the perspective of Jen, a woman who wakes up in a disorienting world of half-truths and buried secrets, the novel grips you from the first page and doesn’t let go.
What I like :-
1 Intriguing Setup: The mystery begins immediately, plunging the reader into Jen’s confusion as she struggles to piece together her identity and uncover what’s real. The unreliable environment amplifies the suspense.
2 Tense Atmosphere: The isolated setting, locked rooms, and subtle manipulations create an almost claustrophobic tension that keeps readers on edge.
3 Layered Characters: Jen’s supposed sister is a compelling figure—both nurturing and evasive, leaving readers questioning her true intentions throughout.
What I didn't like :-
1 Repetitive Middle Sections: Some parts of the story feel slightly repetitive, as Jen’s attempts to uncover the truth circle back to similar confrontations with her captor.
Overall :- Everyone Is Lying is a gripping and emotionally charged thriller that explores the fragility of memory and trust. While it leans on familiar tropes, Holly Down’s atmospheric writing and the protagonist’s raw emotional journey make this book a compelling read for fans of domestic suspense and psychological drama.
My Rating: 4/5

Absolutely brilliant book!
I am a big fan of this author and love the writing style!
I cant wait to read more!

The beginning of the book is engaging and draws the reader in right away. The quality of writing was unfortunately not strong. It reminded me of Freida McFadden's style, which is not appealing to me. I was curious enough to browse the rest of the book to find out what happened, but did not finish reading it word for word about 30% of the way in.

Wow. Wow. Wow! This fast paced, page turner is a must read. I loved the plot, the twists and especially the ending!

This book was ok, not amazing, but an easy enjoyable read overall. I have just read another book centered around amnesia so I must admit I was a little bit over the premise when I read this one.
The book started off a little slow which was ok as it set the scene and I wanted to find out more about what happened to Jen, why was she in an accident, was she actually in her real house, are the people around her who they say they are?
When it got to about 2/3 of the way in and the pieces of the puzzle were starting to get put together I started to lose interest a bit. The reasons for why everyone was lying to Jen came out and they were just a bit too weird and I don't think the main reason was very believable which ruined it a bit for me. However, I did very much enjoy the ending so that was a nice wrap-up / conclusion to it all. The ending reminded me of a storyline that has been in the media in recent years and I enjoyed that fact - even though there was a major clue to what might happen earlier in the book.
Overall, if you are looking for an easy to read thriller that will keep you hooked I would recommend.

Everyone Is Lying by Holly Down is a gripping domestic thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. The story unfolds through multiple perspectives, each adding layers of deceit, suspense, and unexpected twists. The writing is sharp, the pacing brisk, and the characters are complex, making it easy to get sucked into their tangled web of lies. If you love a fast-paced, twisty read that keeps you on edge, this book is a must!

I really enjoyed on this I would definitely say it was more on the spooky side. There was definitely times I was gasping and on the edge of my seat the atmosphere throughout was creepy. I loved the story and how well written it was. There was lots of twists and turns which kept me hooked throughout. I loved how the we only know what was going on in the main characters head which I think helped build up the suspense throughout as I couldn’t even guess what was going to happen next. I loved this book and can’t wait to recommend it to everyone. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

2.5 stars rounded up.
The premise of this book really intrigued me, largely because the amnesia trope wasn’t one I had explored much previously. The pacing started off a bit slow, which I didn’t mind because it helped build tension and lay the groundwork for the feelings of unease and dread that I look for in a thriller. I was enjoying piecing things together alongside Jen, and I never felt entirely confident that I had figured anything out. At the 75% mark, however, this book kind of lost me. The ending felt too rushed and too convenient. Parts of it felt predictable given the hints that had been dropped earlier in the book, but as a whole it was a lot more far-fetched than I would’ve liked.
I don’t want to let my disappointment in the ending tarnish my opinion of the book overall. It was a quick read, and Holly Down certainly managed to keep me turning the pages throughout it all.

A very emotional story that will rip your heart.
I was so engrossed in the book where I was not aware until the story end.
I was gripped from the very first page and thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns the book took you on.

Excellent book. Kept me guessing the whole entire time. I couldn’t out it down. Read in less than a day. No way could I have predicted the ending!!!
