This is such a fantastic series! I loved how we follow DCI Inspector Erica Sands as she searches for her father, Charles Sterling. He is presumed dead but Erica refuses to accept this. She is hunting for the truth. This book does end on a cliffhanger. Fantastic book 3. Thank you NetGalley for my advance reader copy.

I love how this story is written in parts and how it all comes together in the end. I enjoyed the characters and the settings and found the story easy to follow despite not having read the first two books of the series.

Quite fast paced and incredibly suspenseful, especially nearing the end.  Phew!

Holy cliffhanger Batman...

The Hunt is book 3 in the Erica Sands series. The two prior I have not read before this, and for me, i really needed to have read them as a series. I really struggled to connect with the main character, Erica. I found her very unlikable. Maybe you see more of a reason for how she is in the other books. I found myself not invested enough in her.
The plot is intriguing, and it kept my interest. It has suspense, tension and twists. I did guess how parts of it was going to play out, but it didnt spoil it. Told in separate parts that then come together at the end. I did find that the second part slowed the pace down from the first one, but then it picked back up in the third part. It ends on a cliffhanger, obviously leaving the outcome for the next book. I didn't mind it. For those who have read all the series, I think it would have been a satisfying ending .

Thank you Storm Publishing for my advanced copy.

The Hunt is an engaging story, divided into four parts. Each portion adds another piece to the puzzle until you reach that aha moment. Good writing, but I was a bit disappointed in the end.

I enjoyed this third book in the series. It was intriguing and had a lot of twists. It can be read as a standalone but the other 2 are great as well. I liked that it's fast paced. Highly recommend.
Thank you #NetGalley for this #ARC

Another great read in the Erica Sands series. Detective Erica is on an extended mission to catch her serial killer father who comes up with some fantastical ways to escape her and capture. Death not excluded. Reality and belief need to be suspended somewhat whilst reading this series however it is always a fun read with twists a plenty. My only gripe is the lack of ending. The book finishes on a cliffhanger. No doubt in preparation for the next book. This is fine if you're following the series as I am but not for the casual reader. Not a ploy I'm a fan of I'm afraid hence the 3* review.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

I’m sorry, but it doesn’t matter how good the book is, I hate a cliffhanger at the end. I was enjoying this read until then. In my opinion it’s a blatant attempt to get sales for the next book.

Another page turner from Gregg Dunnett. I really like the character of Erica Sands and she doesn't disappoint in this outing. Ok, so the plot does stretch one's credulity somewhat but it's fun nonetheless and kept me reading. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the ending. Without going into spoiler territory, it was really unsatisfactory.

I absolutely love this series so I was excited to read this book, the third so far, based around Detective Erica Sands and her team.

Erica is in the unfortunate position of having a serial killer as a father and he delights in taunting her. When she receives news of his death, Erica instantly knows something is amiss and refuses to believe he is dead.

In Paris, a top journalist for Le Monde newspaper is investigating a huge financial fraud, which will expose a notorious Italian crime family.

The twist that brings these two investigations together, in a remote French village, is wag too convenient to be believable but the dramatic ending makes up for that with a huge cliffhanger which is going to keep me chomping at the bit for book 4!

4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Gregg Dunnett and Storm for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I enjoyed this well-crafted book until the end. I enjoyed the characters even though some were over the top – it's fiction afterall. I liked the author's easy style. However, it didn't end. Some reviews have referred to it ending with a cliffhanger. I expect a book to end so, instead of 3 or 4 stars, it gets 2.

Erica Sands is an English detective and the daughter of an infamous serial killer. After he escapes from prison, Erica is obsessed with hunting him down. When she receives word that he has died in Vietnam, she is certain it’s a trick. The hunt leads her to France where there is a possible tie-in to her father.
The mystery is interesting and Erica is unlikable, but the cliffhanger ending was something I totally disliked. I want the story to have an ending, even if it is part of a series.

I was really grateful to the publishers for offering me the advanced copy of this book to me. The description (and the many 5 star reviews) ticked all my boxes. It took me a while to get in to it because I had not realised it was the third in a continuous series (must be my fault). However, once everything clicked I was hooked. The writing was excellent, it was thrilling, and I read it non-stop because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened at the end. Unfortunately, I didn’t, and that’s why I can only give it 2.5 stars. If you have read the previous two books and are happy to wait for the fourth (or fifth, or sixth?) then I can highly recommend this. If not, I’d give it a miss.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

The third installment of the excellent DCI Erica Sands series finds her totally immersed in the hunt for her serial killer father. The chase takes her across the world, finally ending in Europe. The characterisation is believable, although the plotting left me wondering if I was watching a film, rather than reading a book! It's fast paced, filled with suspense and a rollercoaster of a ride until the dramatic, unexpected ending. I was completely hooked and would recommend the read to thriller lovers. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

I enjoyed this. It’s a nice little detective novel. I did become attached to the fmc Det. Sands. She’s in pursuit of an escaped serial killer that also happens to be her father, who may or may not be dead. By the end, we are left hanging and waiting on the next installment in this series.

DCI Erica Sands is a detective on a mission. How did her father serial killer Charles Sterling escape prison and where is he? With the help of Jonathan Briggs from Interpol they are off to find the prison guard who helped in his escape. Off to Brazil they go but they hit a few roadblocks along the way. More people get involved in this story that connect with Charles Sterling.
I will say there is a lot going on in this book. I didn’t read the other two in the series. It probably would have been better for me to have read them. It was a very interesting book with a main character who was on a mission to get to the truth.
There was a cliffhanger so I am thinking there will be a book four. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a mystery with some intrigue, I would suggest that you read the other two books so it would be a little bit easier to follow the characters and how they are associated with each other.
Thank you, NetGalley and Storm for the ARC. 3.5 stars

Intriguing If A Touch Meandering. Will Be Divisive. I believe this is my first ever review with an asterisk on the rating as far as I'm concerned - because for the first time ever I may well come back and reduce it by a star, depending on how the next book plays out. My reasons here can't be explained without delving into spoiler territory, but I've written about my thoughts on what happens here in other contexts in other places, so they are at least quantities that can be known - and which should be at least partially obvious to those who have read the book.

For what it is though, this book itself is truly a fun and intriguing look at a Sherlock-variant "super detective" who finds herself placed in a situation she refuses to believe is actually true. The story then meanders quite a bit before the big reveal, which then explains the meandering before leading into the final sequences here.

Even in the meandering, the plot is well paced with a lot going on in different areas around the globe, making this easily the most expansive book in the series to date. The characters all play their roles superbly, and the result is a book that reads at least as good as some of the movies that are of its ultimate form. But again, because of the nature of this book, there is really only so much that can be said without revealing spoilers of some form or another.

Very much recommended.

After Detective Erica Sands’s father, the infamous killer Charles Sterling, escaped from a maximum-security prison, leaving no trace of his whereabouts, she desperately depended upon her daughter's familiarity with her father to find him before he started killing again.
When journalist Pierre Cloarec brought a massive financial fraud to her attention, Erica immediately recognized that the details of the scam were similar to the methods her father used to fund his escape. Erica engaged his efforts to help her in the investigation, and their efforts led them to a small coastal village. They established a friendship with a strange American man in the town they thought might lead them to Sterling’s hiding place, but soon Erica began to get weird vibes from the man.
Time was running out, and they had to find Sterling and stop him before he started a new wave of killings, and even she could become a victim.

The third in the series if Erica Sands story. It starts off still on the hunt for Erica's father, she does not appear to be coping too well however she is determind to find out the truth when it appears her father has passed away. This is where the story switches to a french journalist where it gets a little confusing.
An enjoyable read and will look forward to next thank you for advanced copy.
