I really enjoyed this book. I totally identified with Lauren’s horror at finding her daughter missing and being clueless as to what had happened. The story developed really well and built to a fantastic conclusion. Recommended.

When Lauren arrives to collect her daughter Evie from university she finds someone else living in her room and that her daughter hasn’t been at university for a long time.
Lauren will stop at nothing to find out where her daughter is and why she has hiding the truth from her family.
A thriller that has plenty of twist and turns.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

An absolutely fabulous read! Very well written, fast paced and a brilliant plot. I could go on and on and on but I’m not that sort of reviewer. All I can say is my heart is still in my mouth and I’m trying to calm down. Just fantastic, and a very worthy 5 stars. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publishers.

I have read and loved all of TM Logan 's psychological thrillers but this one is his best so far! Wow, it really hit home being a parent of a teenager in a similar situation.
When Lauren goes to pick Evie up from uni, all is not as it seems and Lauren goes on a mission! The language is so vivid and evocative my heart was in my mouth with tension and fear throughout, and it was almost a 1 sitting read for me. It just got too late for my eyes!
There are plenty of plot twists, a great collection of menacing characters and you're always wondering wh to trust. Absolutely fantastic. Add it to your MUST READ list for 2025.

I own two of T.M Logan's books - The Mother, and The Dream Home - but they're still on my tbr list, and yet I knew I wanted to read The Daughter from the first time I saw it. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations and then I can jump in with the other two.
This is another one of those books where I really just want to say "it's really, really good", but realise that's not quite professional enough. But take it from me - it is a very good book.
I think parents will get something completely different from this. It's hard enough for your child to go off to University, but to suddenly not be able to find them is a whole different level, and so I think they will get more out of that side of it than others.
I read it as someone who graduated 11 years ago, which gives another perspective on the story. I remember the early mornings, the overflowing bins, the dirty plates in the sink. Memories - not all that good, and Logan has depicted them so well.
It is mainly set in the present time, once Lauren cannot find her daughter Evie, but every so often we get a flashback - nine months before, eight months before etc. This gives us context and adds to the information we need to try and work out what's happened.
What I enjoyed most about it was how real it felt. A lot of thrillers and crime fiction are explosive, a bit fantasy and unrealistic. But you go with it because it is entertaining and it doesn't necessarily need to be real. But this...as frightening as it is to acknowledge, what happens in this could very well be happening in reality (well, most of it anyway), and that adds to the fear factor of reading it.
It is full of twists and shocks but not an absurd amount. It all still works in context; it's not a twist at every corner, because I would find that too much and too discombobulated (good word), but he's found the right amount to thrill and keep you interested.
Either T.M Logan is very good at research, or he's got some dark secrets. It's another book I read in less than 24 hours as I just couldn't keep away. I will definitely be picking up his other books and getting stuck in now!
This was a proper police crime drama - just without the police. There's a reason why he is so popular with readers and that's because he creates such addictive stories.

Wow! Yet another brilliant novel by T M Logan. This time, the story of Lauren, on the hunt for her missing daughter, Evie. Evie is a student finishing her first term at university - isn’t she? When Lauren arrives to collect her for the Christmas holidays, Evie isn’t there. In fact, she hasn’t been there since the second week of term… so where has she been and where is she now? We join Lauren and Evie’s younger brother, Lucas, as they search for clues and embark on an increasingly dangerous journey to find her.
I absolutely loved this book - just as much as I have loved all of T M Logan’s previous books. It has that same thrilling, but realistic feel, and has all the excitement of the twists and turns which keep you guessing until the end - and I can genuinely say, the final twist took me by complete surprise!
Congratulations for another genius read, T M Logan, and I hold my breath in anticipation of what you will produce next!

Don’t go into this story thinking you’ll figure it out before the end because you won’t!
The simple lives of mam Lauren, daughter Evie and son Lucas take a complete turn when Lauren goes to pick Evie up from college only to find out that she’s not there, and hasn’t been a student there for months.
What seems like a case of a runaway wild child turns into a story of crime, manipulation, black mail and ultimatums.
By the end of the book, your opinion of every character will change. Lauren is forced to face her worst fears, and she has to learn to be strong, brave and reckless at times. Evie has to grow up fast as she encounters the dark aspects of life that most people couldn’t fathom.
The story is told through 2 timelines. The present day timeline follows Lauren as she desperately searches for Evie. Evie’s timeline starts at 9 months ago and gives the reader nuggets of information that lead us to the present day and the current chaos everyone is caught up in.
Lauren’s endless love and devotion to her children drives her decisions and fuels this story. The actions, twists and turns will definitely make you say ‘just one more page’.

Another engrossing read!
I’ve been a fan of Tim’s for a few years now and have devoured his books previously so was delighted to receive his latest on NetGalley.
Lauren is excited to collect her daughter Evie, following Evie’s completing of her first term at university in London. When she arrives at the halls and knocks on the doors, Lauren is perturbed to find a teenage boy answering the door. When she asks where Evie is, she is met with surprise - Evie doesn’t live there. Checking in with security, Lauren discovers that Evie hasn’t just left her room but has volunteering dropped out of uni - without telling her own mother. Where is Evie and why has she vanished?
As the my of a uni student myself, this book felt very close to home. It took me on a rollercoaster of a journey towards the truth, with plenty of twists and turns along the way - including a couple in particular that made me gasp out loud!
Will be highly recommending.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.

I honestly felt like I was watching a film play out in my head whilst reading this. The writing was that good👏🏽. Whilst I did find the first half slow, it did keep reeling you in so that you kept picking it up, and by the second half, I couldn’t put it down. At 17:02 today, on the 15th Jan, I put a note saying I’m 30% in and a little bored, and it’s now 19:20 and I’ve just finished it with a woah, wtf just happened🤯.
With the first twist I guessed correctly but didn’t think I guessed correctly as it felt to obvious. It now feels like a clever way of getting you to doubt yourself so you are again shocked when it’s revealed properly.
The scariest part about this book is how plausible the whole storyline is. Being a parent, it terrified me that my child could one day become accidentally twisted up in a dark, dark world without even meaning to. Now that, makes this scary than any ghost story you could read.
I really hope the producers of The Holiday or The Catch pick this up and make it into a series or film. It’s perfect for the screen!

This is such a well written thriller about a missing girl and her mother's search to locate her. I loved the plotting and the characterisation, especially young Lucas. I was completely hooked from the start and stayed up reading well into the night. A totally immersive read right from the start to the last page and well worth reading. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

This was a fantastic story that I did not want to stop reading and hence I just sat down and completed in the day. My advice to any other reader is to make sure that you have a free day before you start to read this. The story is very twisted and though it was easy to make a guess at what had happened to Evie no way did the full story come to me. It as an unexpected ending that really hit the spot. This is one of the best by this author that I have read and I can see it being a TV series that will become a great hit.

A smashing opening taking you straight in to a mother’s journey to find her child. Clues dropped gradually with clever time hops to fill in the gaps. A very readable and enjoyable book.

This was a one sitting read for me! Brilliant, tense, unpredictable and packed full of emotion - I couldn’t put it down. TM Logan has a permanent place on my ‘must buy’ list.

I enjoyed this book but didn't rave about it. I thought the storyline was a bit predictable with a couple of possible outcomes, one of which was correct.
There Were a couple of twists and his books are always pageturners , I was just disappointed that I guessed the ending.

Wow, where to start! I always eagerly await this author's new books and this one absolutely blew me away!
The story begins with Lauren excitedly arriving at a London university to pick up her daughter Evie for the Christmas break. But to Lauren's alarm, when she arrives her daughter isn't there. When Lauren discovers Evie hasn't been there for weeks, the start of a mother's worst nightmare begins....
I was immediately drawn into this terrifying plot, Lauren's bewilderment, disbelief and then horror at discovering Evie gone, is only too believable. It was very easy to imagine myself in the same nightmare situation.
All the characters here are so real, they leap off the page, even Evie although for the most part of the book, we only hear from her through Lauren. Lauren's sheer determination and perserverance in uncovering the terrible truth was so cleverly portrayed and I loved Lucas, her resouceful, dogged young son who desperately wants to help.
The unimaginable horror keeps on building and the twists keep on coming, as mother and son face a desperate, dangerous mission to find Evie. T M Logan's books get better and better and this is a geniously plotted masterpiece.
If you haven't read any of the author's books before, what are you waiting for?
Thanks to T M Logan, publishers Bonnier Books UK and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is my first read of T.M.Logan, I have heard many good reviews about this author and book and this really lived up to it. All the character’s are well written and we can easily feel connected to them. The author explored family bonds, the lengths people take to protect their loved ones. This was a page turner for me from the start. I thank netgalley and bonnierbooks for eARC copy.

Another brilliant rollercoaster fast thriller from T.M. Logan. Each new book gets better and better. The Daughter deals with every mother's nightmare. A missing child and Lauren is like a wildcat fighting to get her teenager daughter back. She goes through nightmares most of us couldn't even imagine then just when you think you might have it all worked out.......the author chucks the biggest surprise of all at you and we're off again! A fantastic read which kept me up far later than it should have. Read it or miss out big style!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

Lauren goes to pick up her daughter, Evie, from university at the end of her first term. When she arrives Evie isn't there.
She soon realises that Evie has disappeared deliberately.
So begins the desperate search to find her. It's a race against time. Is it a race the Lauren will win?
Fast paced, tense and taut..

This is a brilliant book
I read it almost one sitting!
Having read all books by TM Logan I was very excited to receive an arc from NetGalley.
The book starts with exciting opening pages when Lauren goes to collect her daughter from uni for the Christmas break only to find her gone.
What continues is the mother and son journey ( which is a fantastic duo) trying to piece together what happened since Evie left for university.
I love that the story isn’t rushed, and each step takes you deeper into the plot with a few prissy and turns thrown in.
I couldn’t put this book down and it’s definitely one of the best T M Logan books I’ve read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the author for this advance copy to read and review.

Thanks for NetGalley and T.M. Logan for offering this ARC in exchange my honest review.
I just finished reading "The Daughter" by T.M. Logan, and wow, what a ride! This book really had me hooked from the first page. The twists and turns kept me guessing, and I loved how the characters felt so real. It’s a gripping story about family secrets that unfold in such an unexpected way. I found myself staying up late just to see what would happen next! If you’re looking for a thrilling read that’ll keep you on your toes, this is definitely worth picking up. Highly recommend it!
