Tessa, our main character, arrives in France on the back of a bad relationship. She hopes to come to Paris to find inspiration for her new romantic book......but how do you write romance with a broken heart.
When she arrives, she finds an unexpected flatmate in the shape of Ethan....her ex boyfriend's best friend.
Will she be able to rekindle her love of writing and romance in the city of romance?

A funny, romantic book set in Paris.....what's not to love??!!!

Romance author Tessa has a few weeks to submit her next book but has writer's block after discovering her boyfriend was cheating on her. When her best friends convince her to go on the Paris holiday her ex planned, she's shocked to discover her ex has let his best friend Ethan stay there.

This was an easy read but really started to drag halfway through. I think this was because the attraction between Tessa and Ethan happened pretty quickly, so the story lost focus. I also found the final drama ludicrous and obliterated Tessa's growth.

Escapist fun set in Paris.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Easy to read, charming little love story, spicy surprise lol. The French were very French. The knoblet boyfriend was knobbish. Little bit too much inner monologue for me, some of it could've been exposition.

The setting for this one reeled me in immediately - I'm a sucker for a love story set in the romantic city of Paris. The concept of the two main characters accidentally renting the same Air BnB also intrigued me from the outset, since forced proximity is a favourite trope of mine.

I really enjoyed the underlying message Walters weaves through the pages of the importance of self-love and how this can effect all kinds of relationships in your life.

I felt like there was such huge potential for the story to affect me emotionally but it just didn't quite hit for me. I didn't feel particularly connected to any of the characters, despite the traits they exhibited being ones I loved. I think I struggled most with the dialogue in this book - unfortunately, the characters didn't sound like real people and I found myself cringing at a lot of their conversations.

The Paris Chapter focuses on Tessa a writer , Ethan her lover and Joe her Ex. The scene is set mainly in Paris as Tessa tries to reignite her love for writing. A bit slow in places but great characters. Thanks to Victoria and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley.

What happens when a relationship ends in a traumatic manner, you decide to take the long planned, supposed to be romantic holiday to Paris on your own, but find his best friend in residence, coming out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around him.
In this light-hearted romantic comedy, The Paris Chapter, Tessa decides she has had enough of men and says that Ethan must move out, immediately, as she is the one who has paid for the Air B&B, not Joe. The problem is that it is Fashion Week in Paris and there is no accommodation available.
They agree to a truce and as the days of Tessa holiday unfold, she begins to see life very differently to the woman who had been cheated on by Joe.
Tessa a best-selling author of romantic fiction, is facing a deadline in three weeks, and has monumental Writers Block. Ethan is a Chef who is in Paris to take a course with a famous Chef, but as he has lived and worked in Paris before, he offers to take Tessa to a very romantic place, The Wall of Love to see if it will help inspire her.
She meets Ethan’s friends Juliette and Oscar an incorrigible pair, one a Chef and the other a bar owner, who help her put her life back into workable order again and encourage the beginnings of a plot; well enough of a storyline to send to her Agent.
Paris begins to work its magic and Ethan and Tessa slowly begin to find they enjoy each other’s company in spite of the shadow of Joe hovering over them. It is not until they are both hoodwinked into a disastrous situation, they begin to realise that what they had and have lost was the real deal.
But how to remedy the situation when Ethan is in Paris and Tessa has gone back to London makes a very heart-warming conclusion to a light-hearted romance perfect for an afternoon on the couch with a good box of chocolate.

I hadn't swooned like this for months.
This book has all the right ingredients for an unforgettable read.
Tessa is a romance author facing writer's block after she found out her boyfriend cheated on her. She no longer believes in love and inspiration eludes her. In a moment of courage, she decides to take the trip to Paris even without her ex. What better place to desperately find a way to write on a deadline than the city of love? After arriving at her Airbnb, she discovers that Ethan, her ex's friend, is already living there, and they have only one bed.
Did I mention Ethan is a gorgeous and kind chef?
I loved how the characters are, so we'll define that they feel like old friends. We know exactly what they like and how they feel. Tessa struggles with feeling good enough, a feeling that most of us girls can relate to. Sometimes, being in the wrong relationship can feel exhausting, and self-confidence drops.
The Paris setting is as much a character as Tessa and Ethan themselves. From the cobblestone streets to the irresistible pastries, Walters paints a picture of the city that feels so vivid that you’ll want to book a ticket immediately. Paris Fashion Week and Ethan’s cookery course add layers of glamour and charm to the story, while Tessa’s struggles with her manuscript anchor the plot in genuine emotion.
The chemistry between Tessa and Ethan is electric! Their shared moments in the apartment, the slow-burn attraction, and the way their walls gradually come down are written with such care and authenticity. Walters doesn’t just give us a romance; she gives us two people healing and rediscovering themselves through each other.
Fans of Emily in Paris and authors like Emily Henry and Christina Lauren will adore The Paris Chapter. It’s a love letter to Paris, to finding yourself, and to the idea that sometimes love comes when you least expect it.
5 out of 5 stars – A swoon-worthy, joy-filled escape that’s as delectable as a fresh croissant in the city of love. Don’t miss it!

This was a strong romantic comedy novel, it had that element that I was hoping for from the description. It had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed getting to know the characters in this world. Victoria Walters wrote this well and I was invested in what was happening.

Tessa's jerk boyfriend Joe is cheating on her and her friends encourage her to go on her non-refundable romantic Paris getaway that she and Joe were supposed to go on together. Surprise - Joe's friend Ethan is at the Air BNB because Joe told Ethan he could stay there. Tessa and Ethan share the small apartment and their attraction grows. Throw in other friends, Tessa's writer's block that she's hoping to overcome with inspiration from Paris, and heat between Ethan and Tessa, and you've got a fun, light-hearted romance. Joe is a complete jerk and both Ethan and Tessa spent too much time perseverating about Joe. Other than that, this is worth the fun read, and I loved the Paris setting, too.

The Paris Chapter is a heartwarming and sweet story. I really loved Tessa as a main character, I relate so much to her desire to flee to Paris due to a broken heart and her struggles with self love. I only wish that the author would use the backdrop of Paris more as a setting. We barely notice that she's actually in Paris.

Tessa is a rom-com novelist that just went through a bad break-up after finding her (now ex-) boyfriend cheating on her. She decides to still go on the get away they had planned together. When she arrives to the bnb they had booked, she finds out that her ex has gifted the trip to his best friend, Ethan, who is there on a cooking course.

It's a super swoony, feel good rom-com set in the city of love, which in my opinion was captured perfectly by the writer.
The characters were so relatable and I fell in love with Ethan, he is such a good guy. He helped Tessa so much on her rediscovery of love and overcoming her writers block.

Thanks to Netgalley, and the publisher for trusting me to write an honest review in return for this ARC.

The Paris Chapter, by Victoria Walters, is a swoony rom-com set in Paris.  Tessa recently became single again and is struggling to write her newest romance novel. When she finds herself sharing a one-bedroom Airbnb with a handsome guy, she means to spend her time writing, but agrees to let him show her the city "in the name of research". Predictable, as rom-coms are, but their story is a fun way to get there. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

I've read a couple of Victoria Walters books and this one was an entertaining read, as were the others.
In The Paris Chapter, we follow romance author Tessa to Paris. She's been betrayed and in her quest to find peace with her relationship status, and the belief in romance again, she uses a break that had been booked for her and her now ex-boyfriend, Joe. However, she arrives to find that her cheating ex is even more of a git as he had passed on the break to his best friend.
Tessa is stuck in Paris during the height of Paris Fashion Week in a one-bedroom apartment with a rather hunky chef named Ethan.
I have to say I really enjoyed the close proximity nature of this story; we all know what we wanted to happen.
There is a decent enough steam factor within the story too - Phew!
One thing - I did not like Joe and couldn't bring myself to believe that Tessa would even try to possibly rekindle anything with that wally.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC

Another enjoyable romance from Victoria Walters. This one is in the same universe and The Plot Twist (Stevie makes a couple appearances) but can absolutely be read as a standalone. This book was a bit spicier than her previous two books, and I’m here for it. This story follows Tessa, a woman who recently dumped her two-timing turd sandwich of a boyfriend. She was supposed to go on a romantic trip to Paris with him, but decides to go alone since she paid for the trip. Said turd sandwich tells his best friend that he paid for it and his friend, Ethan, crashes her vacay. She was planning to use the trip to get inspired to write since she was struggling in the love department. Walters wrote a great villain in Joe and you will love to hate him. I also appreciate how the author not only focuses on the romance, but also self-love and acceptance. Definitely check this one out.

Thank you Boldwood Books for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Victoria Walters for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Paris Chapter follows romance author Tessa, who flees to Paris after a bad breakup for some time away to decompress and get inspired for her next book. She had rented the Airbnb when she was still with her ex, but decides to take the trip anyway (go Tessa!). When she gets to her Airbnb, she comes across her ex's best friend, Ethan, who went with the intention of staying at the rented apartment while he's in Paris for a cooking course.

Strangely enough, Tessa didn't really know Ethan, despite being with his best friend for 6 months.Turns out, her ex was the worst. Just the worst! And kept Tessa away from his family and friends and had some very controlling tendencies, while cheating on her for their entire relationship. Despite being his best friend, Ethan is nothing like that, he's kind, funny, and really cares about Tessa, her work, her hopes and dreams... big time cinnamon roll vibes.

While in Paris, Tessa's interactions with Ethan really show her how much was stifled in her previous relationship. Her character growth was one of my favorite things about this book.

The third act conflict basically had me screaming at the book, not because it was badly done, but because it was so well done and realistic. I just didn't want it to happen but was happy with the resolution and HEA.

The Paris Chapter was a cozy romance (not too much spice, but some) with these tropes:

* Ex's best friend
* Cinnamon roll MMC
* Paris
* One bed
* Forced proximity

I have read all of Victoria Walter's romance books as ARCs and I truly don't think she can write a bad book. The plots are like most romance book, BUT her characters are what sets her books apart from all the other romances. Her characters, both FMC and MMC, are relatable people that have true problems that everyone can relate too.

Tessa Elliott is a romance author who is supposed to be writing her 3rd novel, but instead she hasn't written a word and her deadline is in 3 weeks. She has no plot, characters, or setting for her next novel. It does not help that she has fallen out of love when she find out that her boyfriend of 6 months had been cheating on her the whole time.
Tessa and her ex were supposed to go to Paris for their anniversary and instead of going together, Tessa decides to go by herself in hopes to become inspired for her book.

Tessa gets the surprise of her life when she walks into the Airbnb in Paris and her ex boyfriends childhood best friend is in a skimpy towel while walking out of the bathroom.

Tempers flare and things become resolved when Tessa and Ethan decide to share the apartment for the next 5 days.

During those 5 days Ethan shows her a side of Paris that tourists don't normally see. He introduces her to his friends and they have an immediate connection.

I just loved Ethan. He was sweet, sensitive, and wanted nothing more than to be an encouraging partner to Tessa. The only problem I have with him is his name, and that's more on me than anything else - I had a very traumatizing experience with a guy named Ethan.

There was a lot of growth with both characters and even the side characters were fun!

10/10 would recommend.

The Paris Chapter by Victoria Walters is a delightful and heartwarming read that transports readers to the romantic streets of Paris. The novel follows Tessa Elliot, a romance author struggling with both writer’s block and a broken heart, as she embarks on a healing journey in the City of Love. Walters captures the charm of Paris with an evocative setting, making the city itself almost a character in the story. The chemistry between Tessa and Ethan, her ex’s best friend, is palpable, and their unexpected cohabitation in a one-bedroom apartment during Paris Fashion Week creates a delightful mix of tension and humor. Fans of romantic comedies will appreciate the gentle exploration of second chances and personal growth.

While the premise of The Paris Chapter is undeniably enchanting, the storyline occasionally falls into familiar patterns that might feel predictable for some readers. Tessa’s emotional journey towards rediscovering love and overcoming writer's block, though relatable, doesn’t stray far from well-trodden narrative paths, which may reduce its surprise factor. The characters’ development is sweet but could benefit from a bit more depth and complexity. Nonetheless, the warmth of the story, combined with the irresistible Parisian backdrop, makes this a light, enjoyable read perfect for those seeking a cozy escape into a feel-good romance.

Really enjoyed this book by Victoria Walters, my first one, but definitely not my last. I loved the storyline , and there’s always something magical about books set in Paris, and this was no exception. Good characters, very well written, and highly recommended.

Such a cute read! A romance author coming to Paris for inspiration?! Only problem is, her home away from home is also inhabited by her ex’s best friend Ethan. This was such a feel good read and ladies, love is not dead.
