I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book provided some advice to help me with my own sensory issues as well as the parents and children it is marketed towards. There is a great mix of facts and stories both with her autistic kid and others she knows and the stories are great for helping likely already stressed parents feel less alone in helping their children. I liked the fact the book broke down the different types of sensory needs at the beginning as many don’t know about proprioceptive and vestibular senses. The book isn’t overly jargony and explains the concepts it handles well.

This book offers a good perspective and experiences with children on the spectrum. A practical and helpful guide for sensory processing issues.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley.

This is a good introduction to sensory processing, with examples from the author's personal experience as the parent of an autistic child and references to scholarly literature. This is designed to be interactive, allowing the reader to identify and respond to their child's specific sensory profile. Each chapter ends with a focused activity so the reader can implement the concepts explored.
A recommended read for parents starting on their autism journey.
Thank you to Netgalley and Ausome Parenting for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loveson specific anecdotes, and tips on tantrums, comments on paradigm shifts in parenting and the social aspects were very useful.
Best suited for those who are looking for an introductory, summarising but also trustworthy (lived experience) notes on autism, and parenting a child with autism/autistic children.

As a mom of a level 3 autism son who deals with the sensory seeking and disorders I will be glad to tell you this book was 0 help. It literally just repeats itself over and over again with no help drives me crazy. I have a hard enough time finding good autism books so this was just a disappointment
