We start with two friends who are jetting off for what was to be their double wedding in Hawaii which is now just a single wedding as Kara and her fiance have parted ways. In fact, he also took her job with him, so she has been hit with a triple whammy - being homeless too! But she still has her best friend since forever in Ollie who is just about to suffer his own blow when a video of his wife in a mid-air clinch with another man goes viral giving him a bit of a dilemma whether to support Kara or try sort his marriage out...
Meanwhile we also follow Alice who has her own issues as she is trying to escape a bad (understatement) and a public scandal.
And then there's Zac who is about to travel home to Dublin, but also about to discover his own shock...
Their worlds are about to collide in Glasgow Airport of all places...
We also, if you have read any of this author's previous books, catch up a bit with some old friends. But don't worry if you have never met them yet, it won't spoil things here...
I am swiftly starting to class this author as one to watch. I first "discovered" her when she teamed up with Ross King for the Hollywood Thriller Series, and have made some inroads into her back catalogue since. I just love the way she creates her characters and then puts them all through the ringer in situations that really could happen to anyone. Here we have a multitude of challenges to overcome and, although the desired outcomes are a wee bit predictable, I definitely ran the gauntlet of emotions in getting there. I laughed, I cringed, I wept, and I got rather angry on occasion. And, dare I admit it, a wee bit over involved. Well, I couldn't help it. she sucked me into the characters' worlds and held me captive, teasing me along the way. And I loved every second of it!
So much so that I am going to revisit her tbr and let her put me through it all again with a different cast!
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Shari Low for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is my 5th Shari Low book I’ve read and I enjoyed it. The fact that she follows several characters stories, weaves them together all with a 24hour timeframe is really impressive. It reminds me of Elin Hilderbrand but within a 24hr period.
I occasionally get frustrated with the multiple storylines because one storyline is ramping up and then it jumps to another…but it makes me keep reading so I can get back to whatever storyline I was into.
These books aren’t *cannot put down* for me but I still enjoy them and am impressed with the style and layered storytelling. Also, romantic relationships are part of the story but especially since it’s such a snapshot in time I consider it more Woman’s Fiction.
This book (as well as the other 4 I’ve read of hers) are based in the UK so some terms and phrases are not in my vocabulary but I can normally figure it out based on context.

I have read and enjoyed most of Shari's books, and this new story did not disappoint. Familiar faces keep you smiling as you read! The new characters were heart warming, funny, intriguing and well written. Another winning novel.

Kara Mcintyre - just days ago she put a misogynist in his place during Hogmany. What will her new year be like? She just wants to hide her head in the sand and enjoy the trip to Hawaii.
Ollie Chiles - is Kara's best friend. His life is imploding and he would also just like some time to hide his head in the sand and enjoy the trip to Hawaii.
Alice Brookes - was an abused wife in One Long Weekend. She has come a long way since then, but may still have to look into the past to move toward the future.
Zac Corlan - he is a handsome young lawyer based in Dublin. While in Glasgow he will have a meeting with Alice that changes his future. Will he also meet the love of his life today?
All Shari's books begin with a cast of characters. This particular volume has this heading: "On This Day We Meet. . ." At the beginning I often think there are just too many characters, but by the end they are frieinds. If you haven't tried one of Shari Low's titles yet, what are you waiting for? This would be a fantastic place to start.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

Kara McIntyre had been with her boyfriend, now fiance, for eight years, but when a Hogmanay event went horribly wrong, she ended up with no job, no fiance, no home and no upcoming wedding. Ollie Chiles had been Kara's best friend since they were children, and always had each other's backs. But when Ollie's wife, actress Sienna Montgomery, was caught in a compromising clinch with a fellow actor, with the video going viral, Ollie needed to work out which was best - heading to Hawaii for Kara, or going to LA to seek out Sienna.
Meanwhile Alice Brookes had finally had the courage to leave her brutal husband after many years, and after staying with Val, a kind, caring and special woman, for six months, was flying to London to stay with her son and his girlfriend, and she couldn't be happier. When Alice met the son of the woman who had once been her best friend, Zac Conlan had a lot of questions for her. Alice had lost track due to her horrible marriage, so Zac's questions concerned her. What would be the outcome for these people who were drawn together?
One Day and Forever is another excellent story by Shari Low which I enjoyed very much. A lot of characters, but it didn't take long before they all slotted into their places. The four MCs - two who knew each other (Ollie & Kara) and two who'd never met (Alice & Zac) were pretty much perfect in their own ways, and although I only recently discovered Shari Low, I've been entertained by each of her stories, with this one no different. Highly recommended.
With thanks to NetGalley & Boldwood Books for my digital ARC to read and review.

Another lovely read from Shari Low, although this can be read as a stand alone it features a number of characters from her previous novels. It felt like catching up with old friends while meeting new ones.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

No one needs to ask me twice to read a book by Shari Low. I really like the way she can tell a story over the course of 24 hours while weaving in the necessary back stories. Narrated by four main characters, it was fascinating to see how their lives would intersect. I also enjoyed re-visiting some favorite characters from the author's previous books. This was a book I was eager to pick up every time I had a chance to read a few more chapters. Thanks to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and the author for an advance copy to read and review.

This was another enjoyable read from an author who I really like! It's not really part of a series, but if you've read previous books by this author, you may recognise some of the characters featured in it. I really like how the author does this, as I find myself really liking certain characters in other books and it's nice to meet them again in other characters storylines. In this story we meet the four main characters of Kara, Alice, Zac and Ollie. They all have their own issues and problems, which unfold as the storyline moves on. The story is told over a 24 hour period and it was cleverly written to incorporate all the different characters stories without losing any of the pace.
All the characters are really likeable and we get to meet ones which we already know (you have to love Val!) I was drawn into the storyline very early on and found myself hooked into the book. It was easy to read despite all the different characters perspectives, and it was heart-warming with lots of emphasis on family and friendships. It certainly tugged at my heart-strings in a couple of places!! It was a little obvious where it was all heading, but it was a wonderful journey to get there and I love how the author always cleverly ties everything up by the turn of the last page. This was an emotional, warming and, at times, a humorous read which I thoroughly enjoyed! Would recommend!

I love the way this author intertwined multiple characters so that the book is told from various perspectives but due to fate and serendipity, all come together in a way that is favorable and the bringing of true happiness. Kara believes her life is over as she loses everything from a personal and professional perceptive almost simultaneously. She knows she is great at her job but will rise to the occasion to defend those who she believes are being wronged. She is full of integrity and being herself through the entirety of the book creates results in a way she could have only imagined. Alice was abused personally but managed to leave stronger and found a great friend in Val. It wad through a chance meeting with Zac and subsequently at the airport that she came into herself. What is interesting is that the airport itself is actually a character in the book due to its importance of bringing people together that only the odds would have happened elsewhere. Ollie had it all as a successful actor but was lacking love. He was able to realize where his home was and how he could make the city he loved better. I really celebrated how all characters found what the deserved. I would love to see a sequel.

The story revolves around two sisters who are traveling to Hawaii for a double wedding. Sounds simple right? Not so much.
I enjoyed the characters, flaws and all.
I loved the concept of telling the story in two hour increments.
Low has a talent for writing characters from alternate perspectives.
Some tough subjects are included, but told with grace and respect.
A fun and easy read. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks to netgalley and Boldwood Books for the arc.

Enjoyable and relaxing read, although not inspirational. Mix of characters, set in the Glasgow area of Scotland. When life goes out of control, there’s always hope around the corner. Three sets of people experiencing upheaval, eventually find their paths merging. Complicated lives and historical events raised, get sorted. With hints of humour and a dash of romance make for light entertainment - and we all live happily ever after.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers Boldwood for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my! Shari Low has done it again. Her books always capture my imagination, and I find myself inhaling each page at a great speed, as though my life depended on it. Obviously, that’s a little dramatic, but I’m sure you get my drift.
Each of Shari’s books is easily read as a standalone, although there are repeating characters across some books. A couple of the characters in this one we have met previously, but you won’t be at a disadvantage if you start with this one.
Once you become familiar with Shari’s writing style, you will realise that she doesn’t always create a main character, as her books are ensemble pieces. However, I did seem to find myself drawn to Ollie and Kara’s friendship and their ongoing heartbreaks. Friends for years, Ollie and Kara understand each other on a deeper level than most, but is there something underwriting their connection that binds them together? I don’t include spoilers, so you’ll need to read it to learn more.
It was particularly lovely to discover that Alice Brookes had rebuilt her life since leaving her bullying husband, and her son had gone on to forge a new life on the South Coast. Alice wants to attend a local funeral before relocating, as she hopes to reconnect with a dear friend from her past. Bravely, she joins the group of mourners but uncovers more heartache and a glimmer of hope by doing so.
The magic of this story is embedded in Shari Low’s writing. The story winds its way through two-hour periods that focus on each of the characters in turn. That’s the main reason that I read from cover to cover in a single night. I simply couldn’t stop reading, and the ‘just one more chapter’ mantra was racing through my mind.
I would say that the writing is effortless, but it would take a miracle for me to even attempt to replicate the depth of control that is clear to see. A special mention has to go to Val. Her character has appeared before, and she has become a cornerstone of Shari’s books. I can promise that if this is your first book by this author, it won’t be your last. If it’s not, you already know what I’m talking about.

From the very first page this story had me hooked. Some familiar characters from previous books but lots of great new ones. As always well written and interesting storylines weaving the collection of characters together.
I also enjoyed catching up on the developments to stories in earlier books.
The strength of Shari Low’s books are the characters and the easy way she writes.
It always feels like you are with a group of friends chatting about their lives.
This was one of those books that I just couldn’t put down but also didn’t want to finish.
Fabulous read which I thoroughly enjoyed.
5 stars.
Already looking forward to the next book by one of my favourite contemporary authors.

The perfect book to read at the start of a new year... or anytime really. I have become a big fan of Shari Low in recent years and this one didn't disappoint. The author is the queen of telling a tale from different perspectives and I love that her character's pop up on each other's stories in the most unexpected ways. A five star read for me, thanks to netgalley and boldwood books for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Kara is having a double wedding in Hawaii with her sister, but she cancels her wedding but still has to attend her sister's wedding. fun story

A fantastic read. This was my first read of 2025 and it was another winner from Shari Low. I thought there was going to be too many characters for me but it gelled together beautifully and I got into it straight away. It was full of drama and really enjoyed the story, the friendships and relationship's and it was beautifully written . Highly recommended 5🌟read

Shari Low is now one of my favourite authors. I loved this book, as much as I've loved her previous books!
The stories of Kara, Ollie, Zak and Alice are cleverly interwoven, together with a brilliant and vivid cast of supporting characters.
Shari Low has found her unique style in telling her stories over a period of 24 hours.
Highly recommended!

This book like all of Shari's book is set over 24hrs. It works well because we follow the lives of different people throughout the story and eventually we will see how they all have some connection with each other.
The main part of the story is Kara who was getting married in Hawaii in a double wedding with her sister.
Kara has cancelled her wedding but still has to go and attend the wedding of her sister.
In this book previous characters make an appearance and it was great finding out how they were getting on with their lives. It's not a follow up book and can be read even if you haven't read any books by the author.
I think it's clever to write a book with a 24hr theme and yet have a well thought out full bodied book., in my opinion this is Shari Low's best book yet.
I'm not giving away the story as there's usually lots of spoilers in reviews out there and I think it's better to find out for yourself.. All that's left to say is everyone needs a Val in their life....read the book to find out why.
Really good read.

I really enjoyed this book, it's the first I've read from this author.
Id read that the characters cross over books and I didn't know if this would be difficult, but it wasn't and I didn't even notice.
I really liked the story, it kept me interested and wanting to know what happened next.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Told mostly in one day this is the story of four people and how their lives unfold in two hour increments. It’s a contemporary fiction story focusing on family and relationships. I enjoy the author’s writing style and how she goes from the present to flashbacks of the past. All characters are covered equally but spread out so when you come back to them you are eagerly waiting to find out more of their story.
