If you want something light and fast-paced book this is for you: I highly recommend it
I didn't get attached to the characters, even the ML mentioned too much his story with his ex and the FL who begs for him: NOT THANKS

Dee and Bea are twin sisters, and as Dee hurts her ankle, Bea steps in to save her job by pretending to be Dee. She just have to stay clear of Jonah, the boss. Of course the chemistry between Jonah and Bea is amazing.......

This book was a quick, light read, but I felt it to be very fast paced and with a severe lack of character building. The text was quite repetitive and could have used a bit more editing.

A super fun premise that is executed really well. Loved the different PoVs and how the characters evolved over the story. Loved the banter and the romance - particularly the heat level which was PERFECT. Hoping that Dee's PoV in some chapters mean we'll get her story soon too.

Twin sister Bea and Dee are nothing in characters so when Dee has an accident and can't go to work asks her Bea to cover her or she will get fired . Bea tries to work without meeting the boss Jonah but he seems that he is everywhere .
I received this book from netgalley , the author and the publicer as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .

This book was a nice, spicy romance to read. It had me blushing for a bit. It was a fast-paced romance that I could not put down. I loved it. Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for this amazing arc.

Double Trouble

This was a cute book and makes me wish I had a twin sister to see what kind of trouble I could have gotten into. The cover drew me in as I have never read this author before but will definitely be waiting for her next book.

Our hero is a former rock star that has recently been embarrassed by his ex-fiancé and just wants to live a laidback life running his boutique hotel. He is trying to work with his new employee Deliah (Dee) who definitely comes onto him, but while he might be interested, he isn't looking to start a relationship after all his previous embarrassment. Dee also turns out to not be a very good employee and after twisting her ankle, she asks her twin sister Beatric (Bee) to take her place at work.

From the start, Bee and Jonah feel a connection and Jonah can't understand how this version of Dee is now someone he is interested in. As Bee tries to lay low and not let Jonah catch on that she isn't Dee, she finds herself also intrigued with the hotel owner. They work well together and with every interaction, it becomes difficult for Bee to continue lying to Jonah on her identity.

In the end, this book became a delicious mix of some of the best romance troupes: mistaken identity, close proximity, and coworkers and you will find yourself falling in love with Bee and Jonah and also waiting to see what happens to Dee,

Christy McKellen’s Best Mistake Ever is a delightful and heartfelt romance that perfectly balances charm, wit, and emotional depth. With relatable characters and a storyline that feels fresh and engaging, this book is an enjoyable read for fans of contemporary romance.

The protagonists have undeniable chemistry, and their banter is both sharp and endearing. McKellen does a wonderful job of creating flawed, multi-dimensional characters whose growth throughout the story feels authentic and satisfying. The emotional conflicts are relatable, adding layers of depth to the romance and making the ultimate resolution all the more rewarding.

The pacing is steady, keeping readers engaged from start to finish, while the humor and tender moments are perfectly balanced. McKellen’s writing is polished and engaging, making it easy to be swept up in the journey of love, mistakes, and second chances.

Best Mistake Ever is a heartwarming reminder that sometimes, the best things in life come from unexpected twists and turns. It’s a perfect pick for anyone looking for a feel-good story with relatable characters and a satisfying happily-ever-after.

'Best Mistake Ever' was a real riot. I mean, it's a rom-com that's brimming with laughs and charm. The characters? They've got this chemistry that's so electric, you can practically feel it sizzling off the pages. And the romance? It's got this lovely, light-hearted vibe, with a couple of steamy moments that really add some depth to the whole thing.

But, I've got to be honest, I was on the struggle bus with the pacing. It felt like it was racing ahead, especially in the middle and towards the end. It kind of left me wishing there was more time to really get to know the characters and the challenges they were up against. Some parts could have really done with a bit more build-up, you know? It would have helped me connect with the story on a deeper level.

I can't help but wish a little more time had taken a bit more time with it. If the story had been drawn out a bit more, and the plot and characters given a bit more room to develop, I reckon it could have been really something special. As it stands, it's definitely a nice distraction if you're looking for a speedy romance that's full of heart.

If you're into rom-coms that move at a good clip, and you appreciate lively characters, laughs, and a bit of spice in your love stories, 'Best Mistake Ever' could be just the ticket. I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed for what Christy McKellen comes up with next.

Thank you to Christy McKellen, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. Best Mistake Ever releases on January 16, 2025.

3 Stars!

Best Mistake Ever is a charming, quick read with a simple yet engaging plot.

However, the writing wasn't what I was hoping, and it felt a bit too repeptitive at times. I also wasn't completely sold on the character developments, it could've been better, in my opinion.

All in all, if you're looking for a quick and light read, I would still recommend giving this book a try.

This was a lighthearted, fluffy rom com that I thoroughly enjoyed with great spicy scenes. It did feel rushed with the pacing leaving a bit to be desired. I would love it if the author made this book a bit longer and took the time to develop more of the story.

I am a big fan of this author and love the writing style!
I cant wait to read more!

This was a fun, fast-paced, quick read. I would have given it four stars, but there were a few too many spots where I would have liked just a little more information/description - especially about the twin sister Dee.

I do think plenty of readers will enjoy the adult Parent Trap vibe and the grumpy/sunshine romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read a digital ARC in advance of publication.

Bea has an identical twin Delilah, and she’s always picking up the slack for some sort of decision she makes. Now is no different - Delilah has sprained her ankle and is in jeopardy of losing her brand-new job - so she asks Bea to fill in until she is back on her feet. Of course, Bea falls in love with the grumpy and elusive boss Jonah, the son of a rock star and former musician himself. Miscommunication and lies ensue.

Well, I finished this book and there were parts that I enjoyed, but honestly, it felt rushed and so far-fetched. Parts of it never get resolved, and others are just wrapped up quickly at the end. I think the characters have chemistry, but the spice is a bit stale and expected and none of this book feels very realistic. I feel like the book could use editing. I think this book has its audience, but it doesn’t feel very complex or realistic to me. I thought the initial plot line sounded interesting but it did not deliver.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.

this book was a delightful quick read with a straightforward storyline. i particularly loved the connection between bea and dee. it was truly heartwarming. if you're looking for something brief and easy to digest, this book is a great choice.

on the flip side, there were aspects i found less enjoyable. the writing felt somewhat flat, lacking a sense of warmth. i noticed a lot of repetitive language throughout. additionally, i thought having multiple points of view was not the best choice, as dee's perspective didn't add much for me. i also wished for deeper character development and more bonding moments, as those elements are what i really seek in romance stories.

This was a fluffy and enjoyable romance. Twin sisters who swap places so one can help the other keep her job. Add in some funny encounters with the MMC and you have yourself a cute little rom com.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an e-arc in change for a honest review.

This was a quick and easy read romance read, it read with dual povs which I enjoyed. The book is set in Bath which Christy described in such a good way to set the story, at times it felt rushed but overall was a good read, intrigued to see if we will get a Dee story next👀

A missed opportunity.
I applied for the arc after seeing the blurb and sister swap elements like obviously it is an intriguing concept but unfortunately it fell flat with the execution. The insta-lust and the superficial attraction between Jonah and Bea killed my vibe. It was out of the blue and felt off. And not to mention the writing was chaotic and all over the place, I didn’t connect with it at all. I wish the author had dived into the alcoholism issue in depth and not handled it recklessly.
Anyways, I didn’t end up dnf-ing it so obviously it wasn’t bad that much, I did enjoy it but nothing was spectacular. A quick read with straightforward concept.

Tropes:
☞ Grumpy sunshine
☞ Workplace romance
☞ Forced proximity
☞ Mistaken identity
☞ Sister swap
☞ Celebrity romance
☞ Multiple

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the arc copy in exchange of my honest review.

It kind of gives the parent trap, but with British adults. Responsible and competent Beatrice (Bea) does her identical twin (Dee) a favor by pretending to be her to save her job after the other is injured and can’t walk. Unfortunately — or fortunately — Bea just might be a better fit in her sister’s life than she is.

I was SO pleasantly surprised by this book; I read it in a single sitting! It was my first modern-day, cute romance book and it was deeper than I expected. The characters were fleshed out nicely, and the multiple point-of-view really helped me get in everyone’s head and immerse myself in the story. The plot wasn’t overly contrived, and the content was genuinely fun to read. The writing/editing was done competently.

The only thing I thought was missing was an explanation of two of the characters activities throughout the book. Without any spoilers, Bea’s twin Dee has her activities described on the side throughout the book, and something clearly happens with her. However, absolutely none of that is explained or covered (maybe hinted at in one sentence of the epilogue?). I would understand if there was a sequel/sister book to this story, but I couldn’t find one. Apologies if I’m missing that book, but otherwise the detail and hints that the reader gets throughout the story about Dee seems pointless and leaves one unfulfilled.

Best Mistake Ever (comes out Jan 16, 2025!) follows Beatrice (Bea for short) switching places with her twin sister Delilah (or Dee) at her workplace after Dee twists her ankle and can’t afford any more setbacks in the fear of getting fired from her grump of a boss, Jonah. Jonah is the son of a famous rockstar and had a brief stint of his own as a member of a rock band but ultimately left the music scene and is committed to opening a boutique hotel. We witness Jonah and Bea (masquerading as her sister) gradually develop feelings for one another.

This was a quick read that kept me entertained. However, I felt the pacing could have been more developed, as I struggled to fully connect with the chemistry between the two main characters.
