I really wanted to love this one but unfortunately that wasnt the case. The ending was predictable, the book was unrealistic at times , and I really didnt care about the characters.

Thank you to @netgalley and @hera_books for this copy that I have read and reviewing on time for once!
I can honestly say that the very beginning of this book had me hooked. I felt the tension from this first chapter immediately. One of those ones where you know you want to read on immediately.
This is the fastest I have read a thriller in so long! I thoroughly enjoyed the reading experience.
This is a domestic thriller with a fair few characters. I really really thought I had figured it out. I was so impressed with myself, but nope: completely wrong!
This is pretty fast-paced but still manages to maintain that high tension build up throughout the story. Stakes are high when a baby goes missing and there are so many suspects.
This is a told in a multiple POV format. One of the POV’s is Detective Rita Myer. I’m a fan of detective crime books. I didn’t realised until I’d finished the book that it was the third in a series, this didn’t affect my reading experience and I don’t feel like I missed out on anything but not having read books 1 and 2.
Highly recommend this for any thriller fans!
Happy publication day!
4.5/5

Terri Parlato's books always have me captivated and this one was no different, right away I loved the fast pace and tension especially as the danger and intensity increased.

Unfortunately this was a tough read for me. I did finish the book by I skim read a lot of it because I just couldn’t get interested. I didn’t know this was the third book in a series, but that doesn’t matter as they can be read standalone. However, I’m not sure how a whole series of books can be written about the detective as she’s not an interesting character for me. The reveal wasn’t surprising and I didn’t get on with the writing style.

First time I have read anything from this author and I enjoyed the style of writing. It was fast paced with a good storyline. Plenty of suspense throughout. I would definitely read the next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Domestic psychological thriller with wife Eve a high-powered, dedicated psychiatric doctor and her husband Nathan a garage mechanic. The main thing they have in common now is their 3 month old daughter Rosewyn. She goes missing from their garden. The story is told from three points of view - Eve, Nathan and DI Rita Myers, a sensible and mature woman. Plenty of twists and turns and a lot of angst especially from Eve, discovering that motherhood is not the pleasant little, almost, hobby that she thought, but she does have some post natal depression. Who took the baby? Will she be ok? Is there a link to an old and similar case? Well thought out. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

A Perfect Life..?
Is there ever such a thing as the perfect life? The perfect relationship? The perfect family? To all those looking in, Eve and Nathan seem to have all those things but still waters run deep and the cracks that exist are just about to widen. A slow burn suspense with a credible and well drawn cast of characters populating a well threaded and twisting plot. Atmospheric and engaging.

WATCH YOUR BACK BY TERRI PARLATO.
well as soon as i seen the cover, read the blurb i instantly wanted to read it.
The prologue was gripping and i looked forward to starting chapter 1.
This story is told in three different POVs. The Wife, The Husband and then The Detective.
Overall a really good book that had me wanting to find out what on earth was going on.
This is the 3rd book in a series (which i didn't release until i was already invested) but you can read it as a stand alone.

This fast paced book had me intrigued right from the start. I reveled in all the twists and was pumped to see how it was going to play out, only to be let down a bit by the ending. I guess I was hoping for more of a punchy end. Overall though, it was an exciting read and I've no doubt many will love it. I can't wait for the author's next book.

Nathan and Eve Thayer appear on the surface to have a near perfect life, even though they seem like a somewhat mismatched couple - with Eve being a high powered doctor, and Nathan a glorified mechanic.
They got married unexpectedly fast, after Eve became pregnant with their daughter,
Rosewin . But when the baby goes missing, everything falls apart, exposing not only the cracks in the Thayers' marriage, but also unexpected secrets that they are keeping from each other.
This domestic thriller was entertaining but a little far-fetched. If you are willing to go allow for some suspension of disbelief, you will enjoy it just fine!

Thank you Netgalley, Hera Books publishers and Terri Parlato for the eArc of Watch Your Back.
This is the 3rd instalment of Detective Rita Myers series but it can be read as a standalone. Watch Your Back is a domestic psychological thriller with elements of Police protocol. Our main characters, Eve and Nathan have a fragile relationship and after their child goes missing, it's up to our DCI Rita Myers to put the pieces together. I found all the characters well rounded and human, including their mistakes and character faults. I have read the pervious books in this series and I really love Rita Myers, her thought processes and of course, her ability to be able to build in sketches as she investigates. I found this really endearing and unique and it also helps with her investigations.
I enjoyed the pacing of this book, it does open with a punch, slows down a little and then builds back up again which makes it medium paced. There is some nice foreshadowing and even though I picked up on these, it only added to the twists, the tension and the direction of the book.
4.25 stars for story graph and 4 stars for other review sites.

Eve and Nathan Thayer have it all. Their lives are perfect in just every way until one day things begin to go wrong very fast. Everything cahnges for the couple ...but why
This is a read that is pacy and gripping.
I love a Police procedral novel and as the investigation into the couple unearths some amazing cracks i was absolutely captivated.
The twists and the drama keep on coming and for me I could not put this book down. I wished I had saved reading it for an upcoming holiday but... I was thrilled with it.
