A lovely cosy read from Beth Moran which I enjoyed immensely. A great storyline very well told and written superbly. A really good cast of characters, some you love, a couple not so much , but all fitted into their place in the story very well. Recommended.

Loved the setting, liked the characters, though I did think the story a little far-fetched. Would have liked the male and female lead characters to have more scenes together than they did. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a lovely easy read, I love the message of taking chances, being brave and through that being able to find yourself. Had enough going on through the plot that I didn’t feel it to stale like I can with some romances. Loved the addition of the letter format into the story, found myself itching for the next one.

Easy reading, heart warming, cost read. Perfect for curling up by the fire on a Sunday day afternoon. Quite predictable and a little far fetched at times but not taxing to devour in a couple of days.

I really enjoyed this story of Emmie Brown. After her adopted Mom dies Emmie finds letters that says Nell was once married. Emmie continues to work the Kiosak selling pasties at the airport taking over for her Mom. This is where she meets PIp and agriculture student in town. She thinks she is falling for him. She decided to vacation in the area Pip is from. She is also looking for any any connection she can find out about Nell and boy does she. . See how this trip goes and if she ends up with Pip. A VERY GOOD READ.

Beth Moran delivers yet another heartfelt and charming story in Have I Told You Lately. This delightful novel captures the intricacies of family, friendship, and the unexpected turns life often takes, all wrapped up in Moran’s signature warmth and humor.

The protagonist’s journey is both inspiring and relatable, as she navigates life’s challenges with resilience and a touch of vulnerability. Moran’s ability to craft complex, lovable characters shines through, making it easy to connect with their joys, struggles, and triumphs. The relationships, particularly the familial bonds, are beautifully developed, brimming with authenticity and tenderness.

Set in a cozy, inviting community, the setting adds a sense of comfort and nostalgia that’s perfect for a heartwarming read. Moran’s writing is engaging, with moments of wit balanced by poignant reflections that tug at your heartstrings.

While the pacing dipped slightly in some parts, the overall story kept me hooked, and the emotional payoff was worth it. Fans of uplifting contemporary fiction with a dash of romance and plenty of heartfelt moments will find Have I Told You Lately a thoroughly enjoyable read.

I adored this read from Moran. The plot takes a little while to get going but in a great way and I enjoyed the build up Moran gives to the plot. Then when the main plot gets going, I fell in love with the book even more. Siskin is a beautiful place to be transported to and I enjoyed getting to know its residents as well. This book has deception, loss and love at its heart and I relished every page of the book.
Nell is an outstanding character whom I quickly took to my heart and I loved following her throughout this book and the momentous journey she embarks upon.
Everything about this book was a pure delight, it is beautiful and emotional and I loved it.

4.5 stars!

Ahh Beth Moran is one of my absolute favourites! Everything she writes is a guaranteed hit for me. Her stories and characters have so much depth – every setting feels alive with cosiness and a community that you want to just move into; and her lead women are genuine, complicated, overcoming challenges – yes there’s romance, but it’s not all about the man.

Have I Told You Lately is her latest story, and follows Emmie Brown’s journey to find herself and where she comes from. Brought up by her real mum’s sister, Nellie, Emmie has never known the rest of her family – and never travelled or done much beyond work for her mum’s pasty business at the airport. Since her mum’s death, she’s been running the business on her own day in and day out with no breaks. But when she finds some old letters amongst her mum’s things – and a certain man is making his final journey through the airport after finishing his masters degree – Emmie makes a snap decision to take a holiday to the Isle of Siskin.

Here, she finally takes the time to broaden her horizons and think about what she really wants from her life. We meet Pip’s very open and honest family, and Emmie’s friendship with Blessing back home grows stronger and more meaningful. And she starts to piece together the secrets of her own family and find her own way to happiness.

As always with Beth, the story has so much depth to it and is so immersive, uplifting and heartwarming. The Isle of Siskin was such a beautiful setting as well, I had to google it to see if it was real!

Siskin Island is a wonderful place, if you are a local or so we think. A wonderful novel where you can smell the food and fresh air with family and romance thrown in. Fabulous.

An engaging story with a fast-pacing, gripping plot full of twists and turns. I have always loved Beth Moran’s books and this is no exception. While it’s clearly fiction ( it does sound real enough but I don’t think everything that happens in the story could happen in real life ), many topics and events resonate deeply with the reader. It’s heartwarming and sometimes soul twisting and it leaves you with a happy heart.
A great read that I am going to recommend greatly.

What a glorious book! If it were possible I'd be packing my bags and heading to Siskin Island where much of this gorgeous, romantic story is based. Emmie has been brought up my her extremely strict adoptive mum , Nellie, knowing no other life outside work in their pasty making business, based at nearby airport. She has never socialised or enjoyed leisure time until one morning, whilst mourning the death of her mum, she fails to acknowledge her alarm clock and finds herself re-evaluating her whole life. For two years she's had a crush on handsome farmer Pip who passed through the airport regularly,on his way to Siskin Island. Now, having discovered letters indicating her mum had actually been married to a farmer on Siskin Island, Emmie, acting impulsively for the first time in her life, books on a plane with Pip , who is on his last journey through the airport, having graduated from farming college. Impelled on by her only friend, the irrepressible Blessed, she embarks on an adventure that will change her life for everyone. An intricately woven story of loss, love and redemption, this book will steal it's way into your heart . Simply stunning!

This was a heartwarming read with a memorable character in Emmie who lived a very small and rigid life with her adopted mum and has continued to do everything just the same since her death. A number of small events in a short space of time encourage Emmie to take some time away on the island the man she secretly likes lives however he is not the reason she’s there but some letters that reveal her mums connection to the island. The islanders are a really great bunch and a lot of fun and I loved how Emmie threw herself into some of the island life and help with catering a wedding in spite of the fact someone is secretly committing malicious acts to make her leave. There’s some great parallels between her story and her aunts and she made some very brave choices. This is an emotional read but it keeps you uplifted too and there’s a lot to admire about Emmie.
